The corridor opened into a hall.
It had been beautiful once.
The floor was mosaic, tiny stones arranged in patterns that told stories they could not read. The walls were lined with niches, each one containing a statue. The statues were not human. They were tall and thin and graceful, with faces that were almost beautiful and almost terrible. Their eyes were made of gemstones that still caught the light, even after centuries of darkness.
"Demons." Iron said.
"What?"
"Demons." He repeated.
"We heard that what do demons have to do with the statue?"
"If you heard why did you ask." His attention was taken away.
"Just answer the question."
"My chosen master is still the best," iron said mostly to himself.
"So? Demons." Rina had stopped and looked at it.
"These are statues of the first demons summoned by the cult, they helped the cult decipher the ancient script preventing the beast sealed below from escaping."
"So beautiful?"
