"Kael!"
Elara's voice shattered through the collapsing battlefield.
But he was already moving.
The silver spear descended from the fractured sky like unavoidable judgment, carrying enough system authority to erase the entire battlefield from existence.
And Kael walked directly toward it alone.
The distorted domain surged violently around him, unstable space tearing apart beneath every step he took. Blood continued falling from the corner of his mouth, yet his expression remained calm.
Too calm.
As if he had already accepted the outcome.
Elara's chest tightened painfully.
Because she understood him now.
Kael was not trying to survive this attack.
He was trying to stop it before it reached them.
Even if it destroyed him instead.
"No."
The word escaped her instantly.
Not fearful.
Desperate.
Kael didn't stop walking.
The silver spear above the battlefield ignited brighter.
"FINAL ERASURE EXECUTION."
The system voice echoed across reality itself.
Riven's face lost color completely.
"…He can't block that alone."
Elara already knew.
That was why fear had become unbearable inside her.
Not fear of losing the war.
Fear of losing him.
The battlefield shook violently as Kael forced the remaining domain upward toward the descending spear. Distorted space twisted around him desperately, trying to resist impossible authority.
Cracks spread everywhere.
The domain was dying.
And Kael was forcing it beyond collapse anyway.
The silver figure observed emotionlessly.
"RESISTANCE FUTILE."
Kael finally answered.
"No."
The spear descended faster.
The pressure alone shattered the remains of the battlefield beneath him.
Riven tried to move forward instinctively—
but the overwhelming force threw him backward instantly.
Elara watched Kael standing alone beneath the falling light.
And suddenly—
something inside her broke completely.
Not control.
Not fear.
The distance she had kept around her heart.
"You idiot," she whispered shakily.
Then she moved.
Fast.
Faster than even Kael expected.
She reached him just before the spear descended fully.
Kael's eyes widened slightly.
"Elara—"
"I said no."
The unstable energy inside her erupted violently.
Not Cryomix.
Not system power.
Something deeper.
Something emotional.
Frost exploded outward across distorted space while fragments of forgotten memories flashed through her mind again.
Warm sunlight.
Human hands.
Kael's voice calling her name long ago.
A promise she could almost remember.
The battlefield trembled violently.
The synchronization between them surged beyond anything from before.
The silver figure reacted immediately.
"ANOMALY RESONANCE EXCEEDING LIMITS."
The descending spear shook for the first time.
Kael stared at Elara beside him.
"You shouldn't have come here."
Her eyes met his directly.
"And you shouldn't keep trying to disappear alone."
The words struck harder than the battlefield itself.
Because she had seen through him completely.
Kael had never feared death.
He feared becoming the reason others suffered.
So he always chose himself as the sacrifice first.
But Elara refused to let him anymore.
The spear descended.
Kael immediately moved beside her instead of ahead of her this time.
Equal.
Together.
Their powers collided completely.
Distorted space and frozen light intertwined violently around them as the domain transformed again under their combined synchronization.
The battlefield exploded.
Silver light consumed everything.
Riven shielded his eyes against the impact while even the Divine forces were forced backward from the shockwave.
The collision shook reality itself.
For several seconds—
nothing existed except blinding light.
Then cracks spread through the silver spear.
The system voice echoed sharply:
"ERASURE PROCESS DESTABILIZED."
The silver figure moved for the first time.
A single step forward.
Almost uncertain.
Kael and Elara remained standing at the center of the explosion together, both visibly injured now, unstable energy flickering heavily around them.
But the spear had stopped.
Not destroyed.
Held.
The impossible pressure trembled above them violently as their synchronization continued forcing it back little by little.
Riven stared in disbelief.
"…They actually stopped it…"
Even the Divines looked shaken now.
Because this was no longer normal resistance.
This was something beyond system prediction entirely.
The silver figure raised its hand again slowly.
And for the first time—
Kael felt something dangerous from it.
Not anger.
Adaptation.
"The system is learning," he said quietly.
Elara's expression changed immediately.
"That's bad, isn't it?"
"Yes."
The battlefield trembled harder.
The silver spear began changing shape again, shifting under the system's direct control.
And Kael suddenly realized something terrifying.
The system was no longer trying to overpower them.
It was trying to understand them.
