Chapter 54 - Chapter 53: Fragile Boundaries

The penthouse felt different now.

It was no longer a sanctuary. It had become a cage — beautiful, luxurious, and suffocating.

Guàn Jǐngchén had brought Lin Yuè back without a word during the drive. Once inside, he had locked the door behind them with a soft click that sounded far too final.

Lin Yuè stood in the middle of the living room, still wearing the oversized coat that smelled like Guàn Jǐngchén. He looked small, exhausted, and heartbreakingly fragile.

Guàn Jǐngchén watched him for a long moment, arms crossed over his chest.

"Rules," he said, voice calm but edged with steel. "You sleep in my bed every night. You don't leave the penthouse without my permission. You don't touch any devices without me knowing. And you tell me the truth — every single time I ask. No more secrets. No more lies."

Lin Yuè nodded slowly, eyes lowered. "I understand."

Guàn Jǐngchén stepped closer, tilting Lin Yuè's chin up with two fingers so their eyes met.

"If you break even one of these rules," he said quietly, "I won't be kind. Do you understand?"

"Yes," Lin Yuè whispered. "I understand."

The CEO stared at him for another long moment, then released his chin.

"Go shower," he ordered. "You smell like that cheap motel. I'll make something to eat."

Lin Yuè obeyed without argument. He disappeared into the bathroom, and a few minutes later the sound of running water filled the silence.

Guàn Jǐngchén stood in the kitchen, gripping the edge of the counter so tightly his knuckles turned white.

He was angry.

He was hurt.

He was still so fucking in love with him it made him want to scream.

When Lin Yuè emerged from the shower wearing nothing but one of Guàn Jǐngchén's black silk robes, the CEO's gaze darkened. The robe was too big on him, slipping off one shoulder to reveal the marks Guàn Jǐngchén had left on his skin the night before.

Guàn Jǐngchén crossed the room in three strides and pulled Lin Yuè against him, kissing him hard. The kiss was possessive, almost punishing — tongue invading, teeth nipping at his lower lip.

"You look good in my things," he murmured against his mouth. "Even now."

He walked Lin Yuè backward until the back of his thighs hit the dining table. With one sweep of his arm, he cleared the surface and lifted Lin Yuè onto it.

"Open your legs," he ordered.

Lin Yuè obeyed, spreading his thighs. The robe fell open completely, exposing his body.

Guàn Jǐngchén didn't undress. He simply opened his own trousers, slicked himself quickly, and thrust inside with one hard stroke.

Lin Yuè gasped sharply, hands gripping the edge of the table.

Guàn Jǐngchén didn't give him time to adjust. He fucked him hard and deep, one hand braced on the table, the other gripping Lin Yuè's hip.

"This is what you wanted, isn't it?" he growled between thrusts. "To be used. To be punished. To still be mine even after everything."

Lin Yuè moaned, head falling back. "Yes… I want it. I want all of it."

Guàn Jǐngchén's pace was relentless. The sound of skin meeting skin filled the penthouse. When Lin Yuè came with a broken cry, Guàn Jǐngchén followed right after, burying himself deep as he filled him once more.

Afterward, Guàn Jǐngchén didn't pull out immediately. He stayed buried inside Lin Yuè, holding him close, forehead pressed to his shoulder.

"I don't know how long this anger will last," he admitted quietly. "But I can't stop wanting you. Even when I hate what you did."

Lin Yuè wrapped his arms around the CEO's neck, clinging to him.

"Then keep wanting me," he whispered. "Even if you hate me some days. I'll take whatever you give me."

Guàn Jǐngchén pulled back just enough to look at him.

His eyes were still stormy, but beneath the anger was something softer, more broken.

"I'm not ready to forgive you," he said honestly. "But I'm also not ready to let you go."

Lin Yuè nodded, tears slipping down his cheeks again.

"That's enough for now," he whispered.

They stayed like that for a long time — connected, hurting, and unwilling to let go.

The road to forgiveness would be long and painful.

But for the first time since the reveal, they were facing it together.

Even if it was messy.

Even if it hurt.

Even if neither of them knew if they would survive it.
