Sit down. I will tell you a story about a hero, a hero from another world. Someone who was given things before being banished, and developed relationships in this new world. This is the story of the Fool's Miracles.
Act one, Beginning of an End
A girl sat at a table next to a window. She was sitting at a local cafe enjoying a cup of coffee while reading her favorite light novel. She takes one final sip of her coffee and finishes the cup. She closes her book and leaves the empty cup with a couple of dollars. She leaves the cafe and a waitress with white hair comes to her table. She takes the empty cup, but looks at the money left at the table.
"Huh? Didn't she already pay us?" The woman said in confusion. Another woman with purple hair from the counter asked he what wrong. "Hey what's wrong?" The white haired woman looks her way and says "The girl left his money here". The purple haired woman was confused but she then found a note with the money. "Hey the note says something, hey!" The white haired girl takes the note and reads it.
"The money I left was just a little tip. That's more than just a little." The white haired girl says with a bead of sweat on her face. The purple haired girl takes the money and puts it into the cash register. This girl was considerate of everything and always leave to avoid praise. This girl's name was Slyph Winter, due to her breathtaking appearance. Her silver hair, emerald green eyes, and graceful figure.
She walked onto the street and a fast car was coming her way. "Hey girl watch out!" The waitress yells coming out of the cafe. She turns to see the car driving into her, her body gets ran over. She felt an immense stabbing pain all across her body. She tasted iron and felt warm all across her body. She was near death's door, but she had no regrets. "Call the ambulance, now!" The lady from the cafe yelled with worry.
"I called them! They will be here shortly!" A male bystander at the scene yells. "Hey your gonna be okay." The woman from the cafe said trying to reassure her. It was too late though, her body was beyond being saved. "So this is how my life ends." Slyph thought to herself. She was gonna give up until she heard a voice from nowhere. "You always had a kind soul. Always helping those and doing things that weren't necessary, but always avoiding praise and gifts. I shall grant you one last gift." The girl hearing this could only muster "what, is, it." in short breaths.
"The last gift you shall receive, is to reincarnate to a another world. You must die before I could transfer your soul into the new body." The voice said. The girl thinks back on her life, the people she helped, everyone who tried to praise her, and her parents. She sees the people in front of her trying to save her and with her last breath she says "Thank you." before she dies. In the afterlife, she sees the one who was speaking to her, a young woman with teal hair.
"Welcome Slyph. I will tell you about the skills your going to get, and the world you will be transferred to." The lady said in a calm demeanor. "Please do." Slyph replied with a smile. She shows her a glimpse of the world she will be transferred to. It showed people with armor , swords, bows, and many other things found in a fantasy world. "One last thing." The lady said snapping in a board.
The board shows a list of skills under Fool's Masquerade. There was only three abilities, Marionette, sleight of hand, and Hidden Truth. Slyph asks "What are these?" The lady then explains a bit more about the world. "This here is the skills your able to use. In this world, people are able to use magic and special skills. Yours in fact is a new type of skillset. The Fool's Masquerade." Slyph goes up to the board and looks at it even more. She sighs and asks "How do I get to this world?" and the lady then makes a spell circle on the ground.
"Step on this, and it will teleport you and one other dead person." The lady said. "Another person?" Slyph said in confusion. "Yes, another person who recently dead will be reincarnated." The lady says showing another person. That other dead person was a teenager girl with long black hair. She looks confused, but also looks like she accepted that she died. "So do I just go in the magic circle?" Slyph asked the lady.
"Not yet." The lady said while waiting for something. They stand there in silence, before the girl is snapped with them. "Who are you? Oh Hi Selene!" The girl asked while waving to Selene. "My name is Slyph, and we are about to be transferred. Also your name is Selene?" Slyph answered while questioning Slene. "Yes my name is Selene, now!" Selene said pushing both of them in the spell circle.
"Ow my butt." The girl said rubbing her butt. "Hey what was that for!" Slyph questioned with anger. They both stopped what they were doing, the spell circle started to glow a golden light. "Remember Slyph, use Hidden Truth immediately, and say it in your head." Selene said waving them off. "Wai-" Slyph said before getting cut off by the transfer.
They both close their eyes and they both open their eyes after a little bit. They were shocked, the place they were transferred to was a throne room. "Welcome people from another world!" A male voice yelled behind them two. They look back and saw the king, the girl was excited, meanwhile Slyph was a wary. They both get up and kneeled. "It is a pleasure to be in your presence, cough, right?." The girl said while doing a forced cough. Slyph understood and said "Yes it is a pleasure."
The king claps his hand and a old guy with a staff comes next to the king. "You both will get your abilities evaluated." The king said with a cheerful voice. The opd guy with the staff goes to the black haired girl and said "Appraisal." Then the next second the girls skillset is shown on a blue screen. She had the skillset Magic Prodigy with flame bolt, water storm, and rock pillar under it. "Amazing, your skillset is greater than my court magicians! How would you like to join the court magicians?" The king asked with enthusiasm.
"I humbly accept your offer." The black haired girl answered with a bow. "Now you." The old man said holding his staff in front of Slyph. "Wait what did Selene said? Remember to use Hidden Truth. Right, Hidden Truth!" Slyph said in her mind. The old man did the same thing and said "Appraisal." This time the screen showed nothing. It was blank, no skills, no skillsets, just nothing. Everyone in the room was confused, the king says "Try again!" The old man tries again "Appraisal!" and the screen was still blank. "So that's what Hidden Truth is, it shows the status as nothing, but it shows it only to me." Slyph thought to herself.
"I'm afraid I will have to banish you from the castle." The king said apologetically. "Right your majesty. Do I get some sort of thing to leave with?" Slyph asked politely. The king claps his hands and a knight next to him goes to another room. "Magic Prodigy, go to the other room with the knights please. The others please leave, she and I have to talk." The king said politely. The knights take her hand and takes her to the other room and the others in the room left also. "What else do you need to tell me?" Slyph asked with a bit of anxiety.
"Well I need to tell you one thing. Avoid the dark forest at all times, with no skills, you will be in big trouble." The king advised. "I see, thank you for the information your majesty." Slyph bowed in respect. In that moment, the knight came back with a small pouch and a short sword. "This will aid you in your journey. I wish it didn't come to this." The king said while the knight gave Slyph the pouch. "Thank you, but what do you mean?" Slyph questioned while inspecting the pouch.
"There is many dangerous things in this world, so I didn't want to leave you with nothing. In that bag there is food, water, money, and a book about this world." The king said with worry. Slyph looks at the bag and clutching it looks at the king. "I thought you would leave me with nothing, I was wrong. So I thank you with my heart." Slyph says showing her gratitude. "Your welcome, now you may leave. Take her to the town and get her a room in an inn." The king said advising the knight next to him. The knight takes her out of the room, but before she left the throne room she says "I hope we get to see eachother again." The king answers with a smile "I hope we will." Slyph leaves the castle with the knight and sees the town in front of her. "Shall we go?" The knight said. "We shall." Slyph answered, knowing that this will be a great time.
