Chapter 26 - CH 26: Bloodline Awakening

The private restaurant on the university's upper campus level was reserved exclusively for Apex and high-merit Proven students. Crystal chandeliers floated overhead, casting warm golden light over tables carved from dungeon-core oak.

The air smelled of seared high-grade magic beast meat — tender wyvern steak marinated in mana-infused herbs, roasted phoenix breast drizzled with fireberry glaze, and slow-cooked kraken tentacles that melted on the tongue. Prices were measured in merits, but for those who could afford it, this was the only place worth eating.

Alex, Chloe, and Ethan occupied a corner booth. Sophia stood quietly behind Alex, hands folded in front of her maid uniform, purple hair neatly pinned.

Chloe cut into her portion of falcon breast with delicate movements, her modest chest rising softly with each breath. Ethan was already halfway through his second plate of wyvern steak, talking with his mouth full.

Alex's fork paused mid-air when Sophia leaned down and whispered close to his ear.

"Young master… we received two messages from the Student Council vice leader. One says Lucas was using the Obsidian Circle for some kind of mess. The second is from President Rachael Park herself. She wants to meet you."

Alex sighed, setting his fork down. He wiped his mouth carefully with the silk napkin.

Ethan looked up, cheeks stuffed. "What happened?"

Alex leaned back. "Big Sis Rachael wants to meet with me."

Ethan's eyes widened like saucers. "What?! You bastard — when did you get close with her?!"

Chloe narrowed her eyes at Ethan. He immediately raised both hands in surrender, smiling cheekily. "Sorry, sorry."

Alex shook his head with a tired laugh. "She's a great admirer of my mother. Aunt Seraphina is also fond of her. I met her last year when Mother brought me to a council event."

Ethan leaned forward, envy dripping from his voice. "Damn… talk about privileges. So you can just walk into the biggest faction here while a poor guy like me has to suck seniors' asses for even a chance to join."

Alex laughed softly and shook his head at Ethan's antics. "You don't need to act. I was already thinking of mentioning both you and Chloe to her."

Chloe didn't react much. She simply kept eating her food in small, graceful bites, though a faint smile touched her lips.

Sophia remained silent behind Alex, but her thoughts churned. She had practically raised him, cared for him like a little brother since he was small. She worried deeply about Lucas's growing influence. The new stepbrother carried something dangerous in his eyes — something that could pull Alex into shadows she wasn't sure she could protect him from.

Meanwhile, in the ultra-luxury Apex dormitory tower…

Lucas stepped out of the private lift with Yuna trailing a step behind him.

The entire top floor had been reserved for him alone — a breathtaking penthouse that looked more like a palace than student housing. Floor-to-ceiling windows offered a panoramic view of the university grounds and the glowing Seoul skyline beyond.

The living area featured black marble floors veined with silver mana conduits, floating sofas upholstered in dragonhide, and a massive obsidian fireplace that burned with eternal violet flames.

A private training room, a luxurious bedroom with a canopy bed large enough for ten, and a kitchen stocked with rare ingredients waited behind elegant doors. Every surface gleamed with quiet wealth.

Yuna felt completely out of place. She kept glancing at her shoes, terrified they would dirty the pristine floors. Her conservative uniform suddenly felt cheap and plain in this world of opulence.

Lucas, still getting used to such luxury himself, looked around with quiet fascination. He had grown up in cramped, dirty rooms. This was almost overwhelming.

They took a quick tour. Lucas showed her the layout without much comment, then pointed toward the bathroom.

"Go wash your face."

Yuna felt the command settle into her bones. She couldn't disobey — not because of fear, but because the Contract of Ruin had bound her will to his. She walked to the bathroom, splashed cold water on her face, and stared at her reflection in the mirror. The ancient voice from the contract still echoed in her mind.

Do you wish to submit to the Heir of the Abyss?

She clenched her fists. DidI escape one hell only to find myself in another?

She dried her face and nervously walked back to the main hall.

Lucas was seated on the sofa, legs spread casually, playing with a small remote-like device that projected holographic game controls in the air. He looked like an ordinary kid enjoying a game — focused, almost innocent.

Yuna found it strangely jarring. This was the same person who had casually ordered a hand cut off and allowed a man to be raped as punishment. Yet here he was, laughing softly at a pixelated victory screen like any other teenager.

Which one is the real you? she thought.

Lucas suddenly felt her presence and glanced sideways.

"Ah, you're here. Come."

The new contract pulsed between them like a living chain — he could feel her fear, her uncertainty, the way her body wanted to shrink back even as the abyss's power whispered inside her veins.

He smiled, soft but not kind.

"There is no need for you to overthink this," he said calmly. "I saved you for my own advantage."

Yuna's breath hitched. Her eyes flicked to his face, searching.

"So… you're also after my body?"

Lucas stared at her for a beat, then threw his head back and laughed — loud, genuine, the sound echoing off the marble walls of the luxurious penthouse.

"Haha… While I admit you have a physique that can rile any man up," he said, still chuckling, "don't worry. I won't force myself on someone who doesn't want it. I have high standards, you know."

Inwardly, of course, I wouldn't mind having some good time, he thought, a darker purr threading through his mind.

Yuna's cheeks flushed, but she didn't look away. "So why did you save me?"

Lucas materialized the quest reward in his palm. A small, living heart beat slowly in his hand — deep purple, veined with black, pulsing with faint abyssal energy. The sight of it made the air feel heavier, colder.

He held it out so she could see.

"What do you know about bloodlines?" he asked.

Yuna shook her head, eyes fixed on the throbbing organ. "I don't know much… only heard that some lucky people obtain them from quest rewards or if their family already has one."

Lucas nodded. He had read the same during his three days of preparation.

"Bloodlines allow us to mutate in ways our class normally couldn't," he explained. "Most races are born with them. Humans aren't. But we're like blank sheets — we can integrate many types. It's both a blessing and a disadvantage. This…" He lifted the heart slightly.

"This is the power I'm talking about. Consume it, and you'll have a chance to obtain a bloodline. I don't know if you'll survive the process. It's your choice — take the risk and rise above everyone who looked down on you… Or stay as you are. Soon enough, I might even forget you existed."

Yuna stared at the purple heart. Her fists clenched tighter. She remembered the way William and his friends had torn her clothes, the way they laughed while dragging her away.

She remembered every mocking glance, every hand that had tried to take what wasn't theirs. She remembered how powerless she had always felt.

Her body still trembled, but something inside her — the new power from the contract, or maybe just raw desperation — pushed her forward. She reached out with both hands, took the living heart, and brought it to her lips.

She bit down.

CRUNCH.

The heart burst between her teeth. Thick, metallic purple blood flooded her mouth and slid down her throat like liquid fire. She gagged, eyes watering, but she forced herself to swallow every drop.

Pain exploded through her body.

She dropped to her knees with a choked gasp, clutching her stomach. Her skin burned. Her veins felt like they were being rewritten with molten threads.

Her modest chest heaved as her breasts grew fuller, heavier, straining against her blouse. Her hips widened slightly, becoming even more pronounced, her thighs thickening with new, seductive curves.

Her lips plumped, turning a deeper, almost sinful pink. Her eyes — once dark brown — shifted to a striking, glowing rose-pink, shimmering with otherworldly hunger.

She collapsed forward onto all fours, panting, sweat dripping from her forehead onto the pristine marble floor.

The transformation stopped as suddenly as it had begun.

Lucas watched the entire process without blinking, his blue eyes gleaming with satisfaction.

"Welcome to the game," he said quietly.

Yuna remained on her knees on the cool marble floor of the penthouse, chest heaving, the taste of the purple heart still thick and metallic on her tongue. The transformation had left her skin flushed and sensitive, every nerve ending alive in a way she had never felt before.

She lifted her hands in front of her face. Her nails were longer, sharper, painted in a faint glossy pink that hadn't been there before. Her eyes — now a striking, glowing rose-pink — reflected at her from the dark window glass.

Lucas sat on the sofa, watching her with calm, hungry interest. He didn't speak. He waited.

Yuna closed her eyes and focused. A new knowledge bloomed inside her mind, delivered directly through the contract — the low-tier Succubus Bloodline awakening.

Succubus Bloodline (Low-Tier) – Unlocked

Passive Abilities:

Alluring Presence: A constant, subtle charm aura radiates from you. Weak-willed individuals feel an instinctive attraction or desire to please you. The effect grows stronger the longer someone is near you, and physical contact amplifies it dramatically.

Mana Drain: Through skin-to-skin contact, Host can siphon small amounts of mana from others. The drained mana replenishes your own reserves and slightly increases your physical vitality. Prolonged contact can leave the target exhausted and euphoric.

Active Abilities:

Glamour Veil: Host can create minor illusions on herself — changing the color or style of your clothing, softening or sharpening your facial features, or adding a faint seductive glow to your skin. The illusions are fragile and break under strong scrutiny or direct mana interference.

Desire Whisper: By speaking softly or making eye contact, you can plant a single, weak suggestion of lust, fear, or obedience in a target's mind. The suggestion lasts only a few minutes and works best on those already emotionally vulnerable.

Yuna opened her eyes again. The pink glow in them flickered once. She felt the new power humming under her skin like a second heartbeat — dangerous, tempting, and completely alien.

She looked at Lucas.

He was smiling faintly, one arm draped over the back of the sofa.

"Try it," he said simply.

Yuna hesitated, then focused on the new instincts. She took a slow step closer, letting the Alluring Presence flow outward. The air around her grew warmer, sweeter, carrying a faint scent of jasmine and something darker — musk and desire.

Lucas's eyes narrowed with interest, but he didn't move. He could feel the pull, faint but real, like a gentle hand brushing against his thoughts.

Yuna's voice came out softer than she intended. "Does… it work?"

Lucas exhaled a quiet laugh. "It's working. I can feel it trying to tug at me. Subtly, but it's there."

Yuna touched her own cheek, feeling the heat of her flushed skin. Her body felt different — more sensitive, more aware of every curve and movement. She could sense the subtle way her heavier breasts shifted when she breathed, the way her thickened thighs rubbed together under the skirt.

She looked back at Lucas, voice barely above a whisper.

"What am I now?"

Lucas leaned forward, elbows on his knees, blue eyes gleaming.

"You're mine," he said simply. "And you're becoming something the world will want to devour… or worship. The choice is yours, which one you become."

Yuna swallowed hard. The contract pulsed warmly in her soul, binding her loyalty, but it had also given her something she had never truly possessed before — power.

She took another step closer to Lucas, testing the new abilities, feeling the strange, seductive strength settle into her bones.

For the first time in her life, someone had given her a weapon instead of taking from her.

And she wasn't sure whether to thank him or fear the monster she might become.
