Chapter 36 - A new member enters the sect

The third blacker opened his eyes.

It was the next day.

He was about to leave when his little brother said, "Where are you going?"

The third blacker said, "I am going to make this house better."

Then the little brother started dancing.

He slowly said, "You can go."

The third blacker opened the door, then stopped.

He stood there for a moment, looking out.

Then he lowered his head and thought again.

Was he really going out?

Or was he just pretending to?

He slammed his head back into the ground, then forced himself up again.

He held still for a second.

Then he looked at himself and said, "I am nothing too special. I should probably stay at home, not go outside. I should probably go to my father's grave and see my grandfather's health in the hospital."

There was no way he would lose again.

He did not want to lose anyone again.

Even his mom had died just to protect him.

His father had died too.

They were both too kind.

The last time he saw them, he had not been old enough to understand what was happening.

Without his father and mother, he slowly walked forward.

He followed the path and walked into the graveyard.

Slowly.

Slowly.

He stood in front of his father's grave.

It was his father's grave.

His mother's grave was a little farther away.

He could not stop hiding his tears.

He started crying loudly.

The whole graveyard could hear it, but no one was there.

He was the only one.

He did not feel fear.

He only cried.

Then, in just a second, when he saw his mom and dad's graves together, he cried even more.

That noise got a little farther away.

It almost reached the third blacker's house.

When it got louder, it reached the house.

The people inside looked outside and saw no one.

So they just thought it was some random sound.

The little brother did not know it was actually his bigger brother crying outside.

After a while, the third blacker calmed himself down.

He walked away from the graveyard and headed toward the hospital.

He reached Room 85.

His grandfather was there.

He sat down on a chair and slowly began to say, "I have almost lost everyone. You and my little brother and my bigger brother have always left. I even lost my uncle and even my aunt. And they all sacrificed themselves for me. That is why I hate everyone. They…"

Then he began to cry again.

His grandfather slowly held him and touched the third blacker's head.

The third blacker wiped away his tears and said, "I really will love you. You did not sacrifice yourself for me, but you came here."

Then he fell into the bed and slept there.

And in his dream, he went back to the past.

He opened his eyes and saw his father.

He jumped on him.

His father said, "You look a little too excited. Do you feel happy?"

Then the door opened.

The third blacker's mother said, "Hey, you two. Dinner is ready. Come back."

They started eating peacefully.

Then the door was destroyed.

His father and mother looked up.

A knife came into his father's head.

The third blacker froze.

He was only three years old.

He never wanted to lose his father at that age.

His mother protected him.

His bigger brother came down the stairs and stared in shock at their father's body.

His mother shouted, "Who are you? Don't you dare touch my son. And why did you kill him?"

The figure laughed loudly.

He was wearing a mask.

He slowly said, "None of your business."

He wore a black suit, white tie, white shirt, black pants, and a mask.

His hair was yellow.

Not too long.

Just enough to notice.

He said, "I am Lut Harsu. I am hired by the government. I heard your father was hiding too much money and not paying tax to the government. So that was my job. I caught him. I did it. And if I want, I can kill all of you."

The government had said kill no one, but kill his father.

That was what he did.

The government gave him the location, and he followed it.

The third blacker's mother was terrified.

"You are hired by the government? Government should be righteous. Why would it kill such a rich guy?"

The figure slowly replied, "Well, government always wears a mask. It proves it is righteous when it is not even listed. It wants to keep the country normal, and your husband has not paid tax for three days. That was enough. You should learn from government. Do not do this emotional drama for no reason."

Then, without saying anything else, the figure left.

Everyone was terrified.

Then a two-month-old baby started crawling.

It was the little brother.

He was two months old when that happened.

Then the third blacker opened his eyes.

It had all been a dream.

He looked once again at his grandfather.

He took out a wallet from his pocket, took ninety-five thousand money, and placed it near the grandfather's bed.

Then he slowly walked out.

His grandfather was sleeping, so he could not give it directly.

By the time he woke up, it would already be too late.

He walked out of the hospital.

Then he saw one of his old friends.

A friend he had made when he was fifteen.

They met each other again.

The old friend looked at him for a long second, then smiled.

"You really came back."

The third blacker looked back at him.

"Yes."

The old friend crossed his arms lightly.

"It has been a long time."

The third blacker gave a small nod.

"Yes."

The friend studied him.

"You look different."

The third blacker answered, "So do you."

The old friend laughed softly.

That made the mood a little lighter.

Then his expression changed.

"You came to see your grandfather?"

The third blacker looked ahead.

"Yes."

The old friend looked at him more carefully.

"How is he?"

The third blacker paused.

Then he said, "Still alive."

The old friend understood that was enough for now.

He did not ask more.

Instead, he said, "Walk with me for a while."

The third blacker looked at him.

Then he started walking beside him.

The road outside the hospital was quiet.

Not empty.

Just quiet.

Heavy quiet.

The kind that made every step sound louder than it should.

The old friend walked near him and asked, "I heard things."

The third blacker did not turn his head.

"About what?"

"You."

The third blacker said, "That is not new."

The old friend smiled a little.

"You always talked like that."

The third blacker replied, "Did I?"

The old friend shrugged.

"Yeah."

They kept walking.

Then the old friend asked, "Are you staying in town?"

The third blacker looked ahead.

"I have to."

The old friend glanced at him.

"Because of your little brother?"

The third blacker's face changed slightly.

"Yes."

The old friend stayed quiet for a moment.

Then he said, "You still care about him a lot."

The third blacker answered, "He is the only thing left that makes this place worth returning to."

The old friend did not speak after that.

Then he changed the topic.

"Do you remember when you used to say you would leave this place and never come back?"

The third blacker gave a faint exhale.

"I was younger then."

"So was I."

"That does not change much."

"No, I guess not."

They reached a corner.

The third blacker stopped.

The old friend stopped too.

Then the third blacker said, "I should go."

The old friend looked at him.

"Back to your little brother?"

"Yes."

The old friend nodded once.

Then he hesitated and said, "You know, if you ever need help—"

The third blacker cut him off with a look.

"I know."

That was enough.

The old friend smiled.

Then he stepped back.

"Then go."

The third blacker turned and walked again.

He moved the same way he always did when he did not want to show what he was thinking.

The old friend watched him for a while, then stayed where he was.

The third blacker did not look back.

He already knew what he needed to do.

He had seen the dream.

He had seen his father.

His mother.

The grief.

The grave.

The weight of all of it.

Now he had come back to the real world carrying that same pressure in his chest.

He kept walking.

He did not run.

He did not stop.

He only moved forward.

Then he felt it.

A presence.

He slowed, but did not stop.

Someone was watching him.

Not his little brother.

Not his old friend.

Someone else.

The third blacker's hand lowered toward where his bat usually rested.

He did not grab it yet.

He only stayed ready.

Then a voice came from the side of the street.

"Still walking alone?"

The third blacker looked over.

A figure stood near the wall, partly hidden in shadow.

Tall.

Still.

Watching him.

The third blacker narrowed his eyes.

"Who are you?"

The figure did not answer at first.

Then it stepped forward.

"I am someone who has been looking for you."

The third blacker's expression hardened.

"For what?"

The figure tilted its head.

"To see whether you were worth the rumor."

The third blacker stayed still for a second.

Then he said, "And?"

The figure smiled.

"And now I know."

The third blacker felt the air change.

This person was not random.

He had come here for a reason.

The third blacker stared at him.

Then he asked, "Do I know you?"

The figure stepped into better light.

His face was still hard to read, but the smile was sharp enough to be a warning.

"Not yet," he said.

Then he added, "But you will remember me soon."

Gu Yanshu and the dragon kept walking after the Lord of Crimes was cut down.

The bigger brother was not moving yet.

That was the dangerous part.

The body was gone, but the watcher was still there somewhere.

Gu Yanshu kept his breathing even and his eyes forward.

The dragon walked beside him, still quiet.

Then Gu Yanshu stopped.

He had felt it again.

That same gaze.

Not the dragon brother this time.

Something else.

A watcher.

The dragon looked at him.

"Is it my brother?"

Gu Yanshu shook his head once.

"No."

That answer made the dragon's face tighten.

"Then who?"

Gu Yanshu looked at the dark street ahead.

He could not see the figure yet, but he could feel the shape of the attention.

Someone was still there.

Someone was still measuring them.

That meant the fight had not ended.

It had only changed shape again.

He lowered his voice.

"It is not the dragon brother. And it is not the Lord of Crimes. His body is already gone."

The dragon frowned.

"Then who is it?"

Gu Yanshu took one more step forward.

He did not answer at once.

Because he already knew one thing.

Whatever was watching them now, it was not here by accident.

And if it had been waiting this long, then the next move would not be small. The third blacker looks again at the figure.

He doesn't seem to remember, but just now he saw his past.

He remembers someone wearing the same mask, but he doesn't want to fight in this hospital because there is his grandfather and he doesn't want to lose anyone.

His aura was just normal when it becomes a red flag.

That figure looks again, blinks, sweat stops again and again and again.

He was just calm as normal, but now this time he is not.

He is sweating in fear.

He cannot move his body just because of the aura.

That figure body trembles.

The third blacker is prepared.

He opens his face and takes his bat.

He said, you really pissed me off. You are that guy who killed my father, aren't you?

That figure trembles because he was the one.

That figure slowly says, no, that isn't what you are thinking about. It is someone else. No, that is another guy. I am a new one. I copied his mask and I don't even know who is your father. You are misunderstanding this.

When he was about to finish, his head drops in the ground.

The third blacker swung so strong and fast with pressure.

The force makes him lose his neck, and now he is neckless.

He doesn't have a neck.

He only has the other part of his body, means no brain.

The third blacker comes himself.

He notices the suit and everything is the same as that figure.

Then the third blacker slowly walks.

He sees a giant figure around him.

The giant figure says, I am Yutishi Father, and I am here to get my revenge.

Yutishi Father moves his hand slowly.

One attack lands on the third blacker, the third blacker sends flying away.

He crashes into several buildings.

He lost a hand, but he regenerates a new one.

Then the third blacker starts swinging so fast he created a tornado, and that tornado was coming towards Yutishi Father.

Then when that hit, the body was absolutely destroyed, but it regenerates a new one.

Yutishi Father says slowly, pissing you off isn't what it means, and tries to kick the third blacker with all of his energy, but the third blacker blocks with his bat.

Then he says again, I am already pissed, then someone is pissing me even more off, means dead.

Then, in a sudden, to the other guys it looks like the third blacker didn't move at all, but he was moving faster than the light and attacking Yutishi Father consecutively.

Then when it clears, the third blacker was in the ground.

This all happened in three seconds.

There was nothing left.

It was almost like Yutishi Father was erased, but blood dropped from the sky.

After a day, that news spread in the entire global.

Qu Yaoyang just bit one more newspaper.

He showed it to Gu Yanshu.

It was saying that third blacker moved faster than the light and defeated a giant figure who could regenerate.

Gu Yanshu raised his blade and cut the newspaper in half.

Qu Yaoyang said, why?

Gu Yanshu said, useless, it is truly useless.Qu Yaoyang said, as you wish.

Gu Yanshu noticed someone in the bushes and Gu Yanshu spoke, come out.

Bao Yuan came out and said, sorry for the trouble. I don't know who you are.

Bao Yuan looked up and saw it was Gu Yanshu.

Bao Yuan said, is that Gu Yanshu

Gu Yanshu said, Yes, but how do you know my name?

Bao Yuan said, Don't you remember me? I am Bao Yuan

Gu Yanshu memorized it and said, You are that guy. We probably met like in Area 901 in that sect. I don't even remember the sect name. So you are from that sect? You didn't leave?

Bao Yuan said, Yeah, but who are those guys around you?

Gu Yanshu replied, They are my new friends. And do you want to join my sect?

Bao Yuan said, I don't have a sect, but sure. What are your sect rules?

Gu Yanshu said, They are simple. Obey your master commands. Protect your master. Bring you pills for your master.

Bao Yuan said, That is making me work. I will pass.

Gu Yanshu said, You will pass? Ah, man. remember, you are sectless.

Bao Yuan remembered that and said, sure, but I cannot bring pills for you.

Gu Yanshu said, it is okay. Welcome to a sect without a name.

Bao Yuan said, sect without a name? At least where is the sect? Means where is the house?

Gu Yanshu opened an empty space and said, I didn't, my previous sect got destroyed, so I am planning to make a new one. And also welcome for welcoming you. We still don't have a party, but I can give you a pill. What do you like?

Bao Yuan said, I like Larathisu pill.

Gu Yanshu said, Larathisu? Isn't that supposed to be a normal pill, not even a rare one? Yeah, that would be on this empty space. Pick it out.

Gu Yanshu opened the empty space.

Bao Yuan took three pills out and asked Gu Yanshu how to make an empty space.

Gu Yanshu said first and second and everything.

When that was over, Bao Yuan created an empty space and put the three pills in it.

He thanked Gu Yanshu for helping him.

Gu Yanshu started walking without saying anything.

Qu Yaoyang followed beside him.

Bao Yuan walked a little behind, then quickly moved closer.

"Where are we going?" Bao Yuan asked.

Gu Yanshu replied, "Forward."

Bao Yuan blinked. "That doesn't explain anything."

The dragon moved from Gu Yanshu's shoulder slightly and said, "There is a road ahead if we keep walking. It leads to a smaller town."

Bao Yuan looked at the dragon. "You can talk?"

The dragon said, "Yes."

Bao Yuan nodded. "Good. Then you explain things better."

Gu Yanshu didn't react. He kept walking.

Bao Yuan continued, "So, that town… what is there?"

The dragon said, "Food, basic items, and a resting place."

Bao Yuan said, "That's useful."

Qu Yaoyang added, "We are not staying long."

Bao Yuan asked, "Then why go there?"

Gu Yanshu replied, "To move through."

Bao Yuan accepted that and kept walking.

They walked across a broken path.

There were marks of earlier fights, but no one was there now.

Bao Yuan looked around. "This place looks bad."

The dragon said, "It was worse before."

Bao Yuan said, "You saw it?"

The dragon replied, "Yes."

Bao Yuan looked at Gu Yanshu. "You really go everywhere."

Gu Yanshu didn't answer.

They kept walking.

After a while, Bao Yuan asked another question.

"How big is this world?"

The dragon answered, "Large enough that you will not finish walking it."

Bao Yuan said, "That doesn't help."

The dragon continued, "There are multiple regions. East, West, and more areas connected."

Bao Yuan nodded slowly. "So we are in the East?"

The dragon said, "Yes."

Bao Yuan looked satisfied.

Then he asked again, "What about strong people? Are there many?"

Qu Yaoyang replied, "Yes."

Bao Yuan said, "Stronger than you?"

Qu Yaoyang gave a small smile. "There are always stronger ones."

Bao Yuan looked at Gu Yanshu. "And you?"

Gu Yanshu said, "Same answer."

Bao Yuan laughed a little. "That means there are many problems."

The dragon said, "That is correct."

They kept walking.

The road became smoother.

Less broken ground.

More signs of people passing through.

Bao Yuan said, "So if we reach that town, what do we do?"

Gu Yanshu replied, "Walk through."

Bao Yuan said, "Only that?"

Gu Yanshu said, "Yes."

Bao Yuan sighed. "Simple."

The dragon added, "Simple is stable."

Bao Yuan nodded. "That makes sense."

They continued walking.

After some time, Bao Yuan asked again, "How do sects usually work?"

The dragon replied, "They have structure. Leader, disciples, rules."

Bao Yuan said, "Ours doesn't have a name."

Qu Yaoyang said, "It doesn't need one yet."

Bao Yuan said, "So I just follow?"

Gu Yanshu said, "Yes."

Bao Yuan accepted that.

He looked at the road ahead.

"Then I'll just keep asking questions," he said.

The dragon said, "That is fine."

They kept walking forward.

No one rushed.

No one stopped.

Just steady movement.

Bao Yuan looked relaxed now.

"Good," he said quietly. "This is better."

The dragon stayed on Gu Yanshu's shoulder.

Qu Yaoyang walked beside him.

And Bao Yuan followed, still thinking of more questions to ask.
