Chapter 1 - The Boy who Borrowed Time

Chapter 1: The Minute Too Early

Azan Samuoth had always felt time was slightly… off. He woke up one minute before his alarm, answered questions just before the teacher finished asking, and even ran fast enough to arrive at the bus stop just before the rain started. At first, it felt lucky—until the day he discovered the old clock in his grandmother's attic.

It was carved from dark wood, with strange symbols instead of numbers. As he brushed the dust off, a faint whisper reached his ears:

"Late."

Azan froze. "Who's there?"

"Late… again."

The clock's hands twitched unnaturally. Azan's luck, he realized, wasn't luck at all. He had been borrowing time—stealing moments that weren't his.

Chapter 2: The Frozen World

As soon as the words left the clock, the world around him froze. Dust floated midair. Birds hung in the sky. Even the wind paused. The clock's hands spun and stopped on a symbol he didn't understand.

"You've borrowed 3,652 minutes," the clock whispered. "And now… the Keepers are coming."

Before Azan could react, he heard heavy footsteps on the stairs. Shadows elongated across the attic floor. They were tall, cloaked, and impossible—creatures outside the normal flow of time.

"You have two choices," the clock warned. "Return what you took… or run, and owe more than minutes."

Chapter 3: The Keepers Arrive

Three Keepers entered the attic. Their faces were hidden, their eyes glowing faintly through the darkness. One spoke, voice like thunder.

"You've borrowed time, Azan Samuoth. Time must always be balanced."

Azan stammered. "I… I didn't mean to!"

"You never do," another Keeper replied. "But your debt has consequences."

Azan tried to move, but each second felt heavier than the last. The Keepers raised their hands, and the attic transformed into a surreal landscape where past, present, and future collided.

Chapter 4: The Trial of Time

The Keepers brought Azan to the Trial of Time—a room that contained every second he had "borrowed" as shimmering spheres. Each sphere was a memory he had gained by being early or lucky.

"To repay your debt," the Keeper said, "you must return the moments or risk losing yourself to time forever."

Azan had a choice:

•Return the minutes and lose the advantages that had made his life easier, or

•Run and attempt to steal even more time, knowing the Keepers would hunt him across reality.

With shaking hands, he touched a glowing sphere. Memories of tests aced, races won, and narrowly avoided disasters disappeared from his mind. Time felt… heavier, slower, but fair.

Chapter 5: Running Out of Time

Just as Azan began to grasp the weight of his decision, a shadow of another Keeper appeared—a rogue entity who wanted to use stolen time for chaos. It attacked, forcing Azan to make a choice: flee or fight.

Azan realized that the clock's power was within him now. He could manipulate seconds in small bursts, but using it recklessly would increase his debt. Using careful precision, he trapped the rogue in a frozen bubble of time.

Chapter 6: The Balance Restored

Azan returned the last spheres of borrowed time. The Keepers nodded in approval, fading back into the threads of reality.

The world returned to normal. The clock ticked gently, finally at peace. Azan realized life was no longer "too early" or "too lucky." Every second counted, and every decision mattered.

As he left the attic, he glanced back at the clock one last time.

"Borrow wisely," it whispered.

And for the first time, Azan felt truly… on time.
