Chapter 317 - Are You Ready to Ascend?

Inside the United Nations Assembly Chamber—

Just as Peter was trying to navigate a rather tedious discussion with the international delegates regarding post-crisis global security, the room's primary projector automatically booted up with a sharp hum.

A video transmission forcefully hijacked the feed.

On screen, Gravik's hideous face was contorted in sheer, unhinged malice.

Behind him stood an oppressive, endless ocean of heavily armed Skrull soldiers.

"Arbiter!" Gravik's voice echoed through the assembly speakers, dripping with unfiltered hatred and madness.

"You really thought you won, didn't you?!"

"My previous moves were nothing more than an appetizer!"

"Now, the childish pre-war warm-up is officially over!"

"From this moment forth, I—Gravik, King of the Skrulls and the true new master of Earth—officially announce to you:"

"The Holy War has begun!"

"I will give you twenty-four hours to consider your options!"

"In twenty-four hours, come find me at Chernobyl!"

"If you choose to commit suicide in front of the entire global population as an apology, I will leave four billion humans alive out of respect for your selflessness, permitting them to serve as our slaves."

"If you refuse to come..."

Gravik paused, the camera panning slowly to reveal Steve Rogers, Clint Barton, and Bruce Banner suspended inside glowing cryogenic stasis pods.

"...I will execute your friends on a live worldwide broadcast and use their severed heads to sound the horn of our Holy War!"

"I guarantee that when that happens, the human population will be slashed by at least half!"

"The choice is entirely in your hands now. I hope you don't disappoint me!"

Silence descended upon the assembly room like a heavy anvil, the faces of the international representatives turning completely bloodless.

These unhinged aliens were genuinely preparing to trigger a apocalyptic world war.

Has the global situation truly degenerated into such an irreversible catastrophe?!

Just as everyone was squirming in dread over Gravik's ultimatum...

Pfft~!

A loud, casual snort cut through the suffocating tension, instantly freezing the arrogant smirk on Gravik's face.

Gravik stared through the feed in complete disbelief, unable to comprehend how this human idiot could still be laughing at a moment like this.

On the other end, Peter was genuinely amused.

He really hadn't expected this idiot to be this comical—challenging him with a mere army of two thousand lackeys.

"That's it?"

Two effortless words drifted from his lips. Gazing at Gravik through the screen, Peter's eyes held zero gravity and zero anger; there was only the pure, mocking amusement one reserves for a clown's performance.

"I thought you had some game-changing card up your sleeve to back up that insufferably arrogant tone."

"After all that grandstanding, you just cooked up a batch of hybrid goblins~"

Hearing the phrase hybrid goblins, subtle snickering broke out across the chamber.

There was no helping it—Peter's analogy was far too accurate and absurdly vivid.

Across the screen, the arrogance on Gravik's face melted entirely into white-hot rage:

"Damned human, laugh all you want!"

"In twenty-four hours, you won't be able to squeeze out a single smile!"

"No need to wait twenty-four hours!" Peter picked at his ear, his face written all over with pure disdain:

"One hour. Mid-lane 1v1 at Chernobyl—whoever backs out is a bitch!"

"And by the way... you and that swarm of hybrid goblins behind you aren't even worth my personal intervention."

"Scram back to your little hole, wash your necks, and wait. My team will show you the true meaning of absolute despair in one hour."

Without waiting for Gravik's response, Peter casually swiped his finger across the air. The massive holographic projection shattered into millions of glowing light particles, dissolving into nothingness.

The moment the call cut out, the UN assembly erupted into utter chaos.

The delegate and George Stacy both had their brows knitted into deep knots:

"Mr. Arbiter, this is a war that determines the absolute survival of Earth. There's no need to force a tough front right now, is there?"

"Relax~" Peter patted their shoulders, his face brimming with total confidence:

"When have I ever entered a fight unprepared?"

"Giving them an hour is actually for your benefit—it gives you enough time to coordinate a global live broadcast. I'm in a good mood today, so I'm inviting the entire world to watch a great show!"

With those final words, Peter's figure flickered, vanishing from the room in a flash.

A second later—inside the main briefing room at SHIELD Headquarters.

"Peter, are you serious?! You're really not planning to step into this fight?!"

Tony Stark's voice sounded like a cat that had just been stepped on:

"Did you stay out in deep space for too long and get your brain fried by gamma radiation?!"

"Did you see what was standing behind that green bastard just now?! He has an entire army of hybrid soldiers that copied our exact abilities!"

"Meanwhile, even if we count every single member of the Black Rose, we don't even have fifty people!"

"How the hell are we supposed to fight this?! You want us to charge in and deliver free kills so they can collect a limited-edition Avengers action figure set?!"

Though the others in the room didn't echo Tony verbally, their expressions were heavy with solemnity.

This wasn't a balanced matchup; it was a total, zero-suspense ambush.

The enemy didn't just possess overwhelming numerical superiority; they had duplicated almost every single power on their roster.

It was like playing a game on nightmare difficulty where the enemy's stats and health bars were a hundred times higher than their own.

And now, their team's literal walk-through cheat code had just announced on live broadcast that he was going AFK!

How the hell were they supposed to play this?!

If Earth's fate wasn't hanging in the balance, Tony would have surrendered on the spot.

"Bro, I think your brain is the one that melted because I wasn't around for too long." Peter looked at Tony with complete composure, his face completely relaxed.

"I only said I wouldn't personally step into the fight," he flexed his wrist, showing off the Omnitrix strapped to it.

"When did I ever say I'd make you guys fight this war with your current power levels?"

"You... what exactly do you plan to do?" Tony's voice turned slightly raspy, though his eyes burned with sudden anticipation.

Instead of answering Tony directly, Peter turned his head toward Gwen and the others, offering a tender, warm smile:

"Are you ready, my loves?"

"Are you ready to embrace... your ascension?"

CLICK.

A subtle, crisp sound echoed through the room—as if Pandora's box had been unlocked by its master key.

In the very next second, a primordial aura that defied all verbal description—sounding as if it originated from the very birth of the cosmos—erupted violently from Peter's body!

There was no blinding flash of light, nor any apocalyptic energy shockwaves.

Yet every single person present felt the entire world around them shift fundamentally.

The air seemed to solidify into clear amber, the river of time ground to a temporary standstill, and space itself was imbued with unprecedented weight.

In that instant, they felt as though they were no longer standing inside the briefing room of Avengers Tower, but floating within an endless, golden sea of creation energy that spanned the universe.

And Peter... was the cosmic ocean itself!
