Chapter 1 - the birth of the new God

Main Character Introduction

Name: Akuma Kamui

Alias: Kanzoku Kamui

Age: 16

"Ah… not again," the pharmacist sighed.

Whoosh!

The door burst open as a college boy stumbled inside.

"U-uncle, can—"

"Stop it, kid," the pharmacist interrupted, already moving closer. "They beat you again, didn't they? I told you to report this! Why don't you ever listen? …Come here."

I stepped forward silently and began applying bandages to his face.

His condition was worse than before—cuts across his cheeks, bruises covering his arms… even his hands were trembling.

After a few minutes, the bleeding finally stopped.

"You don't have to pay today," I said calmly. "Bring it tomorrow. By the way… where are your friends?"

"They… had some important work," Kamui replied quietly.

After saying goodbye to the shopkeeper, I stepped outside.

I looked up at the sky.

"Damn… it's going to rain. I should hurry."

On my way home, something strange caught my attention.

A notebook… and a pen… lying in the middle of the road.

No one else seemed to notice them.

Then—

"Help… help… help…"

A girl's voice.

I froze.

The voice… was coming from the notebook.

Slowly, I walked toward it. My heart was pounding.

The moment I touched it—

Everything went black.

When I opened my eyes, I was somewhere else.

A different world.

And then… I saw her.

My sister.

She was walking toward me.

For a second, I felt relief—

But then—

A truck appeared out of nowhere.

CRASH.

Time stopped.

Her body flew back.

Her hand… separated in the air.

My vision blurred as tears filled my eyes.

I couldn't breathe.

I couldn't move.

I couldn't even scream.

And then—

Everything reversed.

The blood… the crash… the moment…

All of it went backward.

Time was rewinding.

She was alive again.

Walking toward me.

I tried to run to her.

To save her.

To hug her.

But my body wouldn't move.

A voice echoed behind me.

Cold. Calm.

"You want to save them… don't you?"

I couldn't turn around.

"You don't want to lose anyone again… like your father, Kamui."

My heart stopped.

"Take the notebook. It is the only way to save your sister."

"W-who are you…?" I tried to speak.

My eyes snapped open.

I was back.

Sitting on the ground.

The notebook… and the pen… right in front of me.

This time, I noticed the words written on it:

—Wish Book—

Without thinking…

I picked it up.

Put it in my bag.

And walked home.

"Mom, I'm home."

"Okay, son. Take a little nap and then study," my mother said.

"Mom, I'm not that tired. Can I help you with work?" I replied.

Just then, my little sister ran up to me.

"Brother, I want to go to the amusement park!"

I smiled faintly. "Alright, Sora. We'll go. But for now, I have to help Mom. There are too many people in the restaurant."

I went upstairs to my room, dropped my bag on the table, and then headed back down to help my mother.

After some time, the work ended, and we sat around the dinner table.

"I know they bullied you again," my mother said quietly. "But I can't do anything because of our financial condition, son. Why didn't you tell your friends?"

I wanted to interrupt her… but I couldn't.

"Tomorrow, tell your friends," she continued. "Maybe they can do something."

I finished my food and stood up.

"Good night, Mom. Good night, Sora."

"Brother, can you help me with my studies?" Sora asked.

"Yeah, sure."

An hour later, I returned to my room.

Sora had gone to Mom for bedtime stories.

I walked over to my bag and opened it.

The notebook was still inside.

So… it wasn't a dream.

I picked up the notebook and the pen and sat on my bed.

The pen didn't feel like iron. It was made of some strange metal. When I held it, a weird sensation ran through my body—something I couldn't explain.

I ignored it and opened the notebook.

On the first page, I saw:

Rules of the Wish Book

If you use this book, you will become immortal, but you cannot make anyone else immortal.

You cannot bring the dead back to life.

You cannot kill or harm anyone using a wish.

If you stop accepting wishes, you will be consumed by darkness.

If you accept becoming the new Wish God, you cannot decline the power—you will remain the God of Wishes forever.

You can make your own wish only after accepting 20 billion wishes.

I smiled slightly.

This will make my revenge easier.

Suddenly—

The same voice echoed again.

But this time… it came from the pen.

A glowing window appeared in front of me, like a game screen.

Words appeared:

"Write your first wish. As the God of Wishes, it will help you save your sister."

I reached out and touched the screen.

And then—

I froze.

My younger self was standing there.

Writing.

"No… stop!" I tried to shout.

I rushed forward—but I couldn't reach him.

He finished writing.

The wish was accepted.

"I want to get the powers of Raijin."

I stared in shock.

Raijin… my own character.

Powers of Raijin

Control over all elements

Creation of all elements

Nanobots (three types):

• Liquid nanobots

• Solid nanobots

• Upgradable nanobots

"I don't understand… how is this happening?" I muttered.

My younger self… disappeared.

A message appeared:

"Your wish will be granted in…"

I blinked.

The world changed.

Everything turned white.

And then—

Someone stood before me.

Golden hair.

Green eyes.

A sword resting on his back.

The legend.

My childhood hero.

Raijin.

He looked at me and smiled.

"Hey, kid… you want my powers?"

He stepped closer.

"Come here. I'll show you how to use them."

The world became colorful again.

Kamui and Raijin began training—inside Kamui's mind.

There… time did not exist.

They trained for what felt like ten years, while in the real world, only a second passed.

Kamui fought countless battles, even against wolf-like creatures.

During every fight, one thought stayed in his mind:

My family… I have to protect them.

At the end of his training—

He had to fight Raijin himself.

Again and again, he failed.

Raijin is my own creation… so why is he this strong?

But he kept fighting.

Again.

And again.

Until finally—

He defeated him.

Kamui opened his eyes.

He was back in his room.

"Oh… I'm finally back."

His gaze fell on the notebook lying on the floor.

This book… will help me with my revenge.

He picked it up.

And in that moment—

The notebook… was absorbed into his hand.

His arm transformed—

A nanobot structure forming instantly.

The pen emerged from his hand.

A voice echoed inside his body.

"Congratulations. You have become the new God of Wishes."

"Your true powers are sealed. Other gods can sense your presence. You may only use 30% of your power."

The pen continued:

"Kamui, your wish acceptance radius is 500 meters."

Kamui frowned. "Wish acceptance radius? What's that?"

"In this radius, you can hear everyone's wishes. You must accept or deny them. That is your role now."

"But why only 500 meters? I want more—"

Suddenly—

He collapsed.

Millions of voices flooded his mind at once.

The pen immediately reduced the range.

"You need to adapt to it first."

Kamui lay on his bed, exhausted.

"Who are you…?" he whispered weakly. "And where is Goddess Beatrix…?"

Downstairs…

Kamui's mother sat beside Sora.

"Mom, who is the real God of Wishes?" Sora asked.

Her mother smiled faintly.

"That… is a story even the gods fear to tell."
