Chapter 12 - Nia’s Beginning (Part 1): The World Ranking System

"Nia, wake up."

"Nia, wake up."

"Wake up, goddamn you!"

When Nia opened her eyes, she was staring at a blonde-haired woman who appeared to be in her mid-twenties. The woman had concerned, deep blue eyes and was wearing a black and white maid dress.

She felt exhausted; her eyes felt like they could close at any moment. The palm of her left hand hurt for some unknown reason.

The woman then began to pout like a child throwing a tantrum.

"Hey, Nia, just because House Storm has almost perished due to a bunch of bandits does not mean it's okay to slack off. The royal investigation squad has sent some men to save the last heir. If he survives, then we must do our jobs as this castle's only maids."

"SO FOR THE LAST GODDAMN TIME, TAKE A NAP? NO, JUST GO TO SLEEP! YOU'RE EXHAUSTED! YOU EVEN PASSED THE FUCK OUT!"

"What investigation squad?"

"You know, a squad sent by the N.L.A branch here in Tempest, full of top-tier elites. I heard they even sent a D-rank operative. Can you believe that? But I guess it makes sense; after all, they're after the next marquess of this declining town."

"D-rank?" Nia asked in a very puzzled tone.

"Don't tell me you forgot the globally recognized ranking system again I thought you finally grew up so I could have less work. Fine, for the sixth time, the ranking system is widely recognized. Each rank has 3 sub-categories: Minus, meaning you're on the lower tier of that rank; no sign, which is usually not said, meaning you're in the middle or average of that rank; and Plus, meaning you are at the peak of that rank."

Nia was taking going to take in the information of her new world as best she could as it could be very valuable information. Even though it is basic, it may be strange to others if she didn't have it...

The maid then began to speak

"The twenty-nine recognized ranks are:

H tier: this is where most are and is not very impressive.

G tier: this rank is slightly higher and is considered the physical peak of every race.

F tier: this is beyond the mortal peak; these guys can even apply to be academy students if they're young enough."

"Sounds like the low-tier ranks," Nia said, not realizing she would set off a grenade

.

"Would you shut the fuck up while I'm explaining, goddamn it?"

The maid cleared her throat.

"Anyways, E tier: these are pure monsters by our standards. They need very little sleep and can regenerate serious wounds in mere weeks.

D tier: these beasts we call human can fight ogres in a head-to-head fight.

C tier: this is where elites most hit a bottleneck before ever reaching it.

B tier: merely seven of these individuals are needed to defeat a low-grade wyvern with moderate difficulty. Now, if you're talented, you may reach here eventually."

"So there's a chance I could be B-tier in the future? That sounds really awesome!"

"No matter how awesome you think it may be, in all likelihood, it is nowhere near the top."

"Then there's A tier: let's hope we never face off against them because they can punch noticeable holes in mountains.

After A tier is AA: this rank was added later because A tier to S tier is just way too far of a massive leap.

AAA tier: these are true powerhouses; they can lift up mountains like they were simply lifting some heavy dumbbells.

Necro tier: these people are few and far between and can fight low-grade dragons to a standstill."

"Necro tier sounds like the worst kind of scary. Can they move skeletons?" exclaimed Nia.

"The ones that are necromancers can. Don't ask such stupid questions again!"

"Shut up while I speak and stop interrupting me. Then there are S tier: these people fight in chrono realms against cryptids and are known to be very powerful.

SS tier: these people are so strong that they are usually teachers at Star Blade Academy or battalion leaders of the royal army.

SSS tier: these are individuals you can only dream to meet; they're usually heads of some nobility.

EX tier: there are very few of these people, but they are usually unmatched in power. The commanders of the six great houses fall in this tier."

"Listen up because everything I say after this has either barely been reached in our era or not been reached."

Ultima tier: this is the rank of the legendary vice headmaster of the great Star Blade Academy.

L tier: only seven hundred individuals currently exist in this rank.

R tier: only around one thousand individuals currently exist in this rank.

Z tier: only eight hundred individuals currently exist in this rank.

ZZ tier: only six hundred individuals exist in this rank.

ZZZ tier: only four hundred individuals exist in this rank.

Hero tier: only thirty-six individuals, including generals of the six great houses, exist in this rank.

Legend tier: only the current emperor and leaders of the six houses exist in this rank.

Calamity tier: only the dragon king, elven queen, demon king, elemental kings, and fifteen others exist in this rank.

Titan tier: only twelve individuals exist in this rank.

Apex: only the current headmaster of Star Blade Academy has touched this rank in our current era. However, in the past, this rank was touched by the Junk Mage and Dragon Princess duo, Joker, Trickster, and many other legends. The ones I just named were just the ones from House Storm."

"Wait, our house used to have so many powerhouses?" asked Nia.

"Of course, even though House Storm isn't a great family or dukedom, it still was in the past an incredible house with many legends and a rich history. Every time the house is about to fall, a new legend appears."

"Ok, ok, let's stay on topic. Demi tier: it is said in the past 6,000 years of recorded history, hundreds of individuals have made it to this rank; however, it has no existing members at this time.

Elysian tier: this rank has no existing members in it either and is a rank close to godhood.

Omniwarch tier: this is the rank of the gods and has only been reached by two mortals ever, the Goddess of Sound Lucia, the founder of House Wave, and God of Storms and founder of House Storm, Kascénius."

Nia's head went into overload trying to process the information dump the maid had just thrown onto her.

"No wonder I keep forgetting, goddamn it! The ranking system is so long that I can't believe the average person has time to remember all of that!" yelled out Nia, who was trying her best to play whatever part she had to for this new world.

The maid almost burst out laughing, but she barely held it in. Still, her face definitely conveyed her emotions.

"Nia, grow up and don't be just an absolute airhead like you are right now."

A/N: don't mind this chapter just massive info dump
