Chapter 1 - VEIL OF F1

The sun poured through the tall windows of Elite Prestige Academy, catching the sleek, polished floors in streaks of gold. Students shuffled into classrooms, chattering nervously about the first day. The school's reputation preceded it — whispered rumors of cutthroat competition, impossible standards, and M Points, the currency that ruled every privilege within its walls.

Class 1-F, located at the far end of the third floor, was a different story. The air was thick with tension, disappointment, and bitter resentment. These were the students deemed "failures" — those whose exam scores had landed them in the bottom-tier class.

Most had scored below 20 out of 1000.

Except for one.

He strolled in casually, hands in his pockets, expression calm, almost bored. His name was Kaito Maikeru — for now, just another 1-F student to everyone else, but with a mind calculating far beyond the room's average IQ. He glanced at the pile of exam results on the teacher's desk: 60 out of 1000.

"Above average for this class," he murmured quietly, tugging at the edge of his sleeve, a faint smirk forming. To him, it was nothing.

The classroom door swung open with authority, and all eyes snapped forward. Standing there was their teacher: a striking, black-skinned woman with sharp features, tall and imposing. Her hair was pulled back tightly, and her piercing eyes scanned the room like a predator measuring her prey. Despite her intimidating presence, there was an undeniable elegance to her posture.

"Good morning," she said, her voice low but commanding, echoing slightly in the room. "I am Ms. Raven Delacroix, your homeroom teacher for Class 1-F."

A murmur ran through the students. Most were used to intimidating teachers, but something about her aura made it clear she was not someone to test.

"I know what you're thinking," she continued, sweeping her gaze across the room. "Why you? Why Class 1-F? You've failed the entrance exams, clearly. But here, you'll learn something most schools won't teach you."

Her eyes lingered on the back of the classroom, where Kaito sat casually, observing. He made no move, no reaction.

She walked slowly to the front desk, tapping a sleek, digital tablet that glowed with the school's emblem. "Here at Elite Prestige Academy, we have a system that governs your privileges, your comfort, and even your survival in this environment: M Points."

A timid student raised a hand. "M Points? How do we get them?"

Ms. Delacroix's piercing gaze fixed on the class. "You'll find out. No more questions. Class dismissed."

With that, she turned on her heel and left. The door closed behind her, leaving a faint echo in the room. Immediately, students began whispering feverishly among themselves about the mysterious M Points, speculating nervously about how to earn them.

Amid the chaos, one brave voice rose. "We should all introduce ourselves. Name, goal… let's be honest, or we'll never know who we're dealing with."

Some students hesitated, reluctant to expose themselves. Others muttered complaints. One by one, the introductions began:

Itsumi Hoshino – "I'll play carefully, survive, and advance."

Then, all eyes shifted to the 49th student. Kaito leaned back, calm, eyes scanning every face in the room. When he spoke, it wasn't loud, but it carried — every word deliberate:

"I'm Kaito Maikeru. My goal? To advance without leaving a trace, to move where no one notices, and to see just how far the rules bend when I don't follow them."

A low murmur ran through the room. Confusion, curiosity, and a hint of unease mixed in the air. Kaito didn't care. His gaze continued cataloging every student — their strengths, weaknesses, and patterns.

Finally, the last student rose. She was quiet, composed, and sharp-eyed. Her voice cut through the lingering chatter like ice:

"I'm Sayaka Mizuno. I don't need friends. They're parasites, distracting me. And so are you."

The room froze. Even the students who had spoken confidently earlier paused. Few dared meet her gaze. Kaito tilted his head slightly, a faint smirk tugging at his lips. Interesting… she might actually be worth observing.

The introductions were complete. Subtle tensions and rivalries were already forming, and the first day had barely begun. For Kaito, the classroom wasn't just a place to learn—it was a field of data, and he intended to use it all.
