The newborn children were cleaned up and wrapped in soft blankets. They looked so tiny, and they carried that sweet scent only newborn babies seemed to have. Their mother had also been attended to with equal care. The midwives had cleaned her up, changed the bloodstained sheets beneath her, and made sure the bleeding had stopped while tending gently to the injuries that childbirth had left behind.
"Her Majesty is no longer in any life-threatening condition," the royal physician informed Rowan, who had refused to leave his wife's side. "However, she has lost a great deal of blood, so she must avoid stress and be given plenty of time to recover."
Rowan gave a quiet nod. "Understood. Thank you, Physician."
The woman bowed respectfully before stepping away to continue checking on the two infants.
