Warning: Coarse language, and blood
Jeff sat by himself, feeling his diamond at the cracks and dips, looking at one piece of it, holding it up before Pia sat next to him, looking up into the starry night. "Hey, you after your diamond person talked to you?" Jeff sighed, looking at her. "Their name is Atlas, and I am doing okay." They sat in silence, Pia at a loss for words, and Jeff did not want to keep the conversation going. "I lived so long of my life with them; it felt like it was only a year with Atlas, but I felt like I knew them for longer." Pia got closer, saying, "I'm not good with emotions with people. I don't even know how to really help you. Yet I will say that I lost someone close to me. It felt like I was never going to recover from this. I was angry at myself and am still angry at myself, but you cannot change the past; you have to look at the now." Jeff leaned on her, and she went red from embarrassment, saying, "Thank you for this, Pia." She broke into a true smile. "Do you still want to do this?" Jeff dug into the ground with his fingernails, "Now more than ever." That night around the fire, Mason spoke first, "What do you miss from your home?" James responded, "I miss my nails being cut." They all laughed, reminiscing on the past. Pia said, "I miss having haircuts." Jeff then said, "I miss having a toothbrush." Everyone agreed with that. Mason then spoke, "Sleeping in my own bed." Everyone shook their heads. James spoke, "I am feeling hopeless at this point, yet I know with all our abilities together we have a chance as one to fight for what is right." Jeff looked at him, saying, "That sounds so cheesy," and they all laughed. That night, they slept that night, and came around early. James sat by himself, thinking to himself; Mason got next to him. "How are you feeling?" James laughed. "A little nervous," Mason replied. "Who's not?" James looked at him as Mason sat next to him. "You got anything you want to say?" Mason looked at James, looking away. "How do we know we are going in the right direction?" James was confused. "Do you mean by killing the King?" Mason dismissed, "What I mean is that I like Jeff, saying we can feel it ourselves. I just have a horrible feeling about it." James leaned in. "I trust him, like I trust everyone here?" Mason smirked, "Why are you so trusting?" James rolled his eyes, "I need to put trust in someone…" Mason took that answer as James thought to himself, "I can't even trust myself at this point." Jeff and Pia looked at each other. "What do you think those two are talking about?" Jeff said. Pia replied, "I have no idea what the problem is, something about love or something." Jeff sighed, "Are you ready for this?" Pia sighed, "I'm ready to see my sister, not ready to fight the power-hungry monster." Jeff smirked to himself, "I'm going to miss you all, you know that, right?" Pia gave a side hug. "I'm going to miss you too." Pia sat there thinking to herself alone in a deeper part of the woods, saying, "I need a bathroom break, guys." Her vision blurred as she caught up blood. Her body was shaking as her hair was growing deeper white. She didn't have much time left, like less than a month. She felt the feeling of lifting herself off the ground. Starting to walk back to the camp, James crossed her path. They waved to each other, and he looked nervous before saying, "Hey, Pia, I want to tell you something." While waiting for his response, he looked at the ground before saying, "It's about Mason and me." He was stopped by Mason. They looked at one another. Pia was confused and looked at them. Pia said, "Do you guys want to say something to me?" They said at the same time, "No!" Before going quiet, they went back to see Jeff lying back, drifting off to sleep. He smiled and waved to them. Mason sat there while Jeff was wondering to himself. Jeff asked, "What are you thinking about?" Mason smiled, just looking at him and asking, "It is weird that I don't want to go back home?"Jeff was confused ¨I do feel the same sometimes, why?" Mason played with his fingers, then said, "I have said something I wish I could take back, and that house had a lot of troubling memories." Jeff ruffled his hair, saying, "As long as we got each other, right?" Mason took his hand, kissing it softly, saying, "Thank you, Jeff." They moved closer to each other, looking at each other. On top of the hill, Mason made a small Lilly flower appear from the ground as his eyes slowly stopped glowing white. They got up next to each other, touching their forehead together lending in for a kiss. They heard a voice: "Hey guys, y'all good over there?" Mason moved away, saying, "Everything good; we will be over there soon." Mason got up, leaving him waving farewell. Jeff felt Atlas' hand on his shoulder. "Don't suffer from heartbreak until you stay like this." Atlas grabbed their hand, saying, "Thank you, my friend, my gem." Atlas broke down in tears, and they hugged each other tightly. The group watched on from the distance as they all saw that just for that moment in time, they saw a person hugging Jeff back. James said, "That man has fantastic hair." Mason corrected him, "Jeff told me they got by they/them." James felt embarrassed. Pia nudged him, "It's fine, Li." They all sat together on top of the hill, knowing this could be their last time together.
For the next few days, move to the outskirts of the forest, on top of the cliff, seeing the massive wall surrounding the city. They soon reached the wall, dodging the tower light. As they saw a carriage going into the gate near the front before the gate reclosed, they saw another carriage coming in. James, Jeff, Mason, and Pia grabbed him; his eyes glowed orange as they went invisible. They went through the gate as it closed, and they ran deeper into the city. They let go as sweat was coming down his face. Jeff looked at him. "Are you okay?" He gave him a thumbs-up, seeing people walking and talking. Seeing kids in the street having fun; some people were looking up, meeting their gazes. Mason had sight unease upon them. Pia looked at him, "We got this." They moved through alleyways as soldiers moved through the streets, chanting about the late evening events. They soon reached the palace on top of the cliff. As the clouds began to roll in, James looked back, seeing the city. The city lights looked bright and peaceful. Pia looked at him, "What are you looking at?" James smiled, "It's like a larger Tokyo city; let's finish this."
They walked through the palace, hiding before soon realizing the palace was empty. There were no soldiers or staff. James reached a large bedroom and turned on a light, seeing a large family painting. He whispered to himself, "The royal family." He saw a woman with large curly brown hair, put into a dark spruce skin and hazel eyes; then the King had wavy black hair and dark green eyes. Then the daughter's skin color was the same as her mother's; her hair was wavy brown, and her eyes were brown and green. He sighed, pondering to himself, "What a beautiful family." Their name underneath reads the Green family. The wife's name was Azule, the daughter was Jountry, and lastly, the King was named Augustus. Everyone in this picture was so young compared to how they were depicted by Nolan.
Leaving the room, turning off the light, closing the door behind him, and going through the hallways. Jeff and James reached each other. "There's no one here," James nodded his head, then Pia looked at them. "Something is not right. We should-" She was cut off by the screaming of Mason, who slammed to the ground. They all looked up from the hole, seeing the King's scared face and soulless eyes. He broke through the floor to the ground, and they all stood in fight mode. His skin was tan and worn from years of violence. He had a long black beard with gray hair throughout. Had wavy black hair with gray stripes, large parts of his hair, and dark green eyes, nearly brown. "Well, look, we have a couple of kids." He smirked as Pia ran towards him, smoke coming towards him faster than ever, punching him over and over before his eyes went black as he threw her through the wall. James Mason charged at him before using his power. James kicked him as his eyes glowed orange. Knocking him back, and Mason's eyes went black as he punched him so hard he knocked the King through a couple of walls and knocked everyone back. Pia started to get back up, and Jeff's eyes and the diamond glowed red as it flew toward the King, catching Jeff's punch. They fought as Jeffy threw him up into the air; the King punched Jeff so hard that he hit the roof. King laughed, amused as if he was a kid playing with his new toys, teleporting to the ground. Jeff's diamond cracked even more; Jeff spat up blood. Getting back up, Pia threw an explosion at him, throwing Augesnet down. Mason threw a kick, and the King dodged it back, knocking him out. "Mason!" James ran up, jumping up, trying to punch King in the face before the King caught it, feeling a snap in his arm from throwing it into Pia as smoke filled the nearby area. Jeff yelled as he ran towards him, punching him over and over as Jeff's eyes glowed bright, his diamond cracking. Jeff's voice sounded hoarse, saying, "You will pay for the blood you spilled over the years." The King's eyes went black as magic flowed around them. Time seemed to slow down. Jeff saw Atlas looking back at him. "Atlas, what are you going to do?" Atlas held his shoulders, softly kissing his forehead. "Goodbye, Jeff, see you all in another life." Jeff tried to stop what was going on. "Wait!!" Atlas took over Jeff. "Thank you." The diamond cracked as pieces floated in the air, firing towards the King. Everyone watched Mason trying to get up, saying, "Wait!" Jeff, the diamond exploded as the boom rocked the city, flickering out the city lights. The clouds exploded apart as people woke up, showing the hidden moon. James' body was hurting, and the palace was gone except for some support pillars. They all looked up to see diamond pieces around Jeff. The King loomed over, saying, "You failed Atlas!" Jeff punched him in the head as a sickening crunch sound rang through the air; blood covered King Augestian's hand and the ground. Mason cried out, "NOOOOOOOOOOooooooooo!!" His veins glowed back as an all-black and purple dagger. The King licked up the blood from his hand, grinning, seeing Mason fly toward him. Flying towards him in all purple smoke, trying to hit the King, he dodged, now teleporting in blue dust. He punched Mason into the ground over and over as Mason was knocked out; he was about to stomp Mason in the head before Pia punched him in the face, away from Mason, flames erupting through the air. The King glared at her. She yelled, her hair getting whiter, nearly the whole hair, "You're going to die for that motherfucker." He smirked before punching her in the neck. She bit down, ripping off some of the skin from the King's hand. He yelled in pain. Pia spit out the skin, smirking. She looked back at James, mouthing bye. She opened her closed fist to see a small fireball before it exploded. James' eyes glowed orange before jumping on Mason as the explosion consumed the remaining building. His power protected both of them, but he couldn't see that Pia Jeff was the King. James' eyes were heavy, looking down, seeing a bloody, exhausted Mason. He looked at him, crying, whispering to Mason, "I'm sorry I couldn't say so, love you before." A snap came through the air, and smoke left Pia's body as she collapsed to the ground. James' world shattered as the King ripped off her head, rolling it to him. James' eyes glowed green, going back in time.
James looked around, seeing everyone back in the palace before the battle. Pia looked at him, "Look alive, James, what's the plan?" They smiled, doing something different this time. Pia died first, her heart ripped out; then Jeff died next, crushed his head, and then Mason passed out or died; James didn't want to know. He went back again, Mason almost dead, then Jeff, and then Pia. One time, he also died first before Pia saved him, covering his face.
James' eyes were sparkling green, looked around his body and felt like it was shutting down. Jeff looked at him, "James, you okay?" The King raced towards him, punching James in the face. His eye hurt, and looking around, his body felt overused. Looking around at the leaking pipes and felt the cold concrete ground. His heart dropped, the broken diamond still in his chest, as brethren were weak, his heart beat barely hanging on. He whispered to himself, "We lost the battle." Pia and Mason looked at him. "You up, James?" He tried to get up, but his legs were broken. He crawled towards the bed where Jeff lay. "I'm so sorry for this. Do you have a plan?" They both looked at each other, shaking their heads no. They all soon went to sleep from exhaustion, and he saw all his spirits surrounding him. "Can you help me out?" The same tall, glowing white shapeshifting person spoke before him, "You need to clear your mind, my dear." He sat in the library drinking a cup of green tea, reading through war books from all ages, surrounded by the spirits. They watched him, whispering to themself one of them spoke to Anpu, "Do you think this will work, Anpu?" Apau smiled, saying, "Gabor, I trust him about this." James got up, smiling at all of them, "Thank you all, everyone." His eyes opened, seeing everyone looking back, confused. The King came in, saying, "I paid Nolan, your new friend, a visit. I'm sure I killed him and burned that whole rebellious city!" Pia asked him, "Do you feel happy with yourself? What would your family think?" The King sneered, saying, "I saw my whole family die cause I had mercy on my enemy. I have been alone for 70 years, but this universe and every other will fall." Mason replied, "How are you going to do that, Augustus?" The King smiled. "I'm glad you asked me. I will break you all down until there is nothing left. Good night, my children." A shiver went through everybody as he closed the door. A guard glanced at them before resting at their post.
He smiled and kissed Pia, letting go slowly. "I'm going to fix everything," Pia said. "I trust you, my love." His eyes glowed green. He looked at Mason, kissing his check "See you later." Time rewound as they were back looking at the King, and he said to them, "We do this together as a team." Pia and Jeff went to another. Pia threw a blast, knocking the King back as Jeff punched him through. He teleported into a blue bust before Mason's eyes turned white as he punched her in the back. James joined in, using his power to make a bigger blast. They all used each other, fighting so well as one unit that the King could not predict. They destroyed the palace in the process before Jeff saw Atlas. "Atlas, what are you going to do?" Atlas hugged him. "Farewell, Jeff, see you all in another life." Jeff tried to stop what was going on. "Wait, not yet, not ever!" Atlas took over Jeff's body. "Thank you for giving me a purpose in life." Jeff's diamond cracked as pieces floated in the air, firing towards the King. Everyone watched Mason trying to get up. "Wait!" Jeff's diamond exploded as a boom rocked the city, lights flickering out; the city's smoke and dust filled the surrounding area. Everyone was shaken, but that did get them a leg up. Pia threw a knife at Mason's eyes, and the knife glowed dark purple as he used it to jab the King's heart. Everyone stopped fighting, the King stumbling back, black blood dripping down his chest. As Vain went black as he fell to the ground, sighing to himself, he placed down his crown.
Looking around his destroyed home while coughing up blood. "They are going to tear y'all apart." Pia sneered, saying, "Hope you choke on your own fucking blood." His eyes rolled to the back of his skull, wheezing up blood before falling to the ground. Jeff fell to the ground, blood pouring from his chest, and the diamond now lost its red glow, falling into the diamond. Mason walked and panicked as Pia put him on the side. Jeff looked at them, smiling, touching Mason's face. Before passing out, tears ran down. As Jeff's tears fell, James tried to use his power, but it was of no use. Mason held Jeff's hand, saying, "We will be fine as long as we have each other, right? Please don't leave me." Mason's voice broke saying the words, and they all fell to their knees. Pia yelled out in vain, throwing a fireball near a pillar, destroying it in seconds. James tried to stop them, saying to himself, "Please, spirits, help me this time. This is not how the story is supposed to end." Pia sighed, walking over to Mason. "Ma.. Mason, I think it's time to." Mason could say the words she was going to close Jeff's eyes, but Mason stopped him, saying, "I could still feel his heart, please, Pia." She agreed, and Mason's eyes turned white, trying anything we could. Then dark green dust poured down. Nolen came out, looked around, shook, then saw Jeff; more of them came right after him. They gathered around them and poured a mix of green dust in a circle before it was gone. Leaving Pia, Mason, and Mason alone with Nolen. "Where, Jeff!" Mason looked at him as his veins around his eyes glowed black before going back to normal. Nolen sighed, "They transported me to the best hospital in the country." The sun slowly rose over them, and they looked at each other. "Is he going to be okay?" James replied, "Only time can tell." He left in the green puff of smoke. They looked up, seeing the clouds starting to part, and looked around, seeing people gathering and soldiers armed with weapons. "I don't know, but I do know we need to fix this problem." They looked at the crowd of people and the soldiers. Pia picked up his crown and robe, wrapping them around herself, then threw the crown to the crowd, to the cold stone ground. Causing the gathering crowd to gasp and mumble before Pia said, "Your King is dead!" One of the top generals of the army looked at the crown, picking it up. The royal adviser said, "Who killed the departed King?" Pia said, "We all did as a team." This made the crowd silent, saying to the crowd of people, "We have a new queen and King." Everyone went quiet. James ran over to Pia, and everyone looked at Pia. People started to kneel. She looked at Nolan and Mason, saying, "What is happening right now?" Nolan replied, "We have a tradition that killed the King, and whoever kills the last leader automatically becomes the new leader of the country." Pia's eyes went wide looking at the other two, more concerned as the general walked over to Pia, placing the crown on her head. Bowing, she looked at her and asked, "What is your first name and last?" Pia, Mason, and James looked at each other. "Our names are Mason Jones, James Li, and Pia Jones." James looked at Mason, shocked James whispering, "Your last name has been Jones this whole time." She nodded her head as everyone else cheered their name.
They were transported in a carriage together as people cheered in the streets. They looked at one another, and they moved to the new capital city. The city of Argon was shown around, which was clean and beautiful. They were showered with gifts and money. Nolen filled them in on Jeff and mentally later that week. They would be able to visit them in another week when they went out to find more pieces of his diamond. The sun rose above the destroyed places as they were searching for anything they could find, around 26 pieces of it in different shapes and sizes. Pia looked across the upper rooms where King Augustine's bedroom was. There was nothing useful for her jewelry, wedding ring, pictures, and clothes from the old King and Queen, and some toys scattered about. It did make Pia sad. Her vision blurred as she caught up blood. Her body was shaking as her hair was growing deeper white. She didn't have much time left, like less than a month. She was about to get up from the ground, seeing a shine of something underneath the bed. She tossed the bed to the side, ripping open the floorboards. Seeing a book shining and gleaming with jewels and gold on top. Her eyes glowed a crimson as it struck her with deep crimson lighting; she cried out in pain, dropping the book. Crawling away before her body let amazing. She left like she could leave a mountain or destroy one. She looked down at a broken mirror, seeing herself. Her hair was now split in half, one side white and the other side dark brown. The book was open to a page. It was a healing page. She looked through the book, her eyes expanding with curiosity, glowing darker and darker red every second. A voice called out to her, James saying, "Hey, Pia, are you okay up there?" She shut the book quickly, replying, " Everything is fine, James. I got lost looking for stuff up here."James sounded more flirtatious. "Do you want me to come up there? We can talk alone for a little while. She blushed at the idea of that, thinking to herself, hearing him climbing up, she stuffed the book away in a nearby bag as he looked at her, the sun beaming through his curls. He got up close to her, saying ¨Look, this area is pretty done here, I would say so myself." She looked around at him, grabbing his hand, ¨I would agree. Kimmy," He rolled his eyes, leaning in and kissing her. They shared that moment for hours in both of their minds. Before Pia pulled away, looking away from him. James looked grateful, saying, "Sorry, I knew we wanted to keep things casual." Pia and James made an agreement to remain friends after the battle with the King that night; they have broken that agreement two times by now. Pia looked at him, rubbing her hand through his and kissing his cheek. She softened then; she would do anything else so far. Pia said, "I do love our moments together; we'd better go talk with our friends." Grabbing both bags, jumping down to the ground below. James groaned, smacking his forehead ¨Gosh, get together, men; she tells her you… love her, alright." He looked down, seeing a pool of blood tilling his head. Hearing the screaming of Mason, Pia, and Jeff, they grabbed on to him, yelling at him in muffled voices. Mason walked into the room, grabbed his shoulder, before hugging him. James got up, saying, "Thanks, man." Mason replied, "It was nothing. I found 19 diamond shards. How many have you found?"James replied, "Only 6 so far." Mason said, it's James, saying, "Oh yeah, beat both of your guys."James smiled widely, jumping off the second floor, shouting, "No, for long." Mason groaned, "Oh, you so on." Mason saw himself blush before smacking himself. Jumping down, seeing the other person thinking about Jeff.
Jeff was sleeping in a hospital bed as he looked around, seeing a woman who was more like a silhouette of a person. Her eyes were a ruby red; she seemed to smile. She spoke in a delighted tone, "Milandu, my sweet reality-gifted child, you will do amazing things." She hugged him, and it felt like his mother would hug him as a child. He cried and collapsed into the hug. She wiped away the tears as someone walked into the room. Light filled the room. The woman was gone. She was a standby nurse, and she said: "King Jefferson, your companions are here." He smiled, looking down, seeing the remains of his diamond in his chest. "Farewell, Atlas." He looked off, seeing the rue shiny over the land as the clouds parted.
