Shera, seeing that both Vera and Doris had already accepted the invitation, felt the bashfulness and unease in her eyes gradually replaced by panic. Having relied on Vera and Doris since childhood, she was used to living alongside them and couldn't bear the thought of being left behind.
Consequently, she quickly raised her hand, her fingertips trembling slightly as she carefully tapped the "Accept" button on the panel, terrified that a moment's delay would result in her abandonment.
Upon accepting the invitation, Shera also felt the miraculous nature of the Goddess Apartment. Seeing the facilities designed to enhance strength and the comfortable environment, her timid eyes widened slightly with a flash of curiosity and longing. The bashfulness on her face faded just a little.
As Sylphie watched all three of them accept the invitation, a smile finally graced her face. A faint blush crept onto her pale cheeks, making her look exceptionally adorable. The heavy stone in her heart had finally fallen; she felt much lighter.
"Alright, everyone, let's head back to the apartment first," Su Mu spoke up.
One by one, the group vanished from the spot. The miniaturized Goddess Apartment was once again tucked away within his system space.
Upon returning to the Goddess Apartment, Su Mu turned to the group and spoke in a warm, casual tone, "Everyone can choose their own rooms. There are plenty of rooms in the apartment now—more than enough for all of you."
The group followed Su Mu's gaze and saw the spacious, bright corridors. Orderly rows of rooms lined both sides, their closed doors exuding an aura of quiet comfort.
Currently, the number of residents wasn't particularly large. The Yuigahama mother and daughter shared one room, Anna had her own, Alice and Lilia shared another, and Sylphie had one as well. Counting it up, they hadn't even filled half of the rooms on the first floor.
Although Su Mu had said they could choose their own rooms, Vera, Doris, and Shera ultimately chose to stay with Sylphie.
First, rent was charged per room. By staying together, they could save a significant amount of gold—since they currently had nothing, every single coin was precious. Second, the three of them and Sylphie had lived together for years and were long accustomed to each other's company. Staying together provided a sense of security and something to lean on.
Su Mu watched their choice with a look of understanding and fell into thought for a moment. He recalled Sylphie's previous mention of "repaying his kindness," which he hadn't accepted yet. He wondered if the four of them living together might make things a bit inconvenient.
But on second thought, he wasn't lacking people who were currently taking the initiative to show him affection. Whether he added Sylphie to that list now or later didn't really matter much. He wasn't in any particular rush to sample a "new flavor" just yet. Ultimately, he didn't say much and simply nodded, permitting their choice.
Afterward, Su Mu led March 7th, Hu Tao, Himeko, and Fu Hua to the top floor of the apartment.
Just as they reached the top floor, something suddenly occurred to Su Mu, causing his brow to furrow with a look of slight annoyance. Every time something happened in the apartment, he had to take the initiative to find each tenant to explain the situation. Going back and forth like that was honestly a bit of a hassle.
He remembered that in the real world, inns and hotels equipped their rooms with telephones so that tenants could contact each other or the front desk at any time. It was incredibly convenient.
In that case, wouldn't installing a phone in every guest room of the Goddess Apartment solve this problem?
He hadn't thought of this before—it was a major oversight. Su Mu shook his head helplessly and called up the system panel to check the cost of installing guest room landlines for the entire apartment.
The panel clearly showed that the apartment currently had 641 rooms. At 100 gold coins per landline, installing them in every room would cost a total of 64,100 gold. For the current Su Mu, who possessed millions of gold coins, this was a drop in the bucket—hardly worth mentioning.
In truth, he didn't have to install them in every room right now. He could even let the tenants pay for the installation themselves. That way, he would only need to spend 100 gold to put one in his own room, saving quite a bit.
But then he reconsidered. In a standard hotel or inn, the room phones were provided by the establishment. What kind of logic would it be to make tenants pay for their own phones after moving in? Besides, more tenants would move in later; installing them one by one then would only be more troublesome.
It was only a few tens of thousands of gold—hardly something to be stingy about. Without further hesitation, Su Mu made a grand sweep of his hand and installed guest room landlines in every single room currently in the apartment.
In mere moments, the installation was complete. Simple, easy-to-operate landlines sat neatly on the nightstands of every guest room.
Once the installation was finished, Su Mu assigned unique phone numbers to each landline based on the tenants' rooms to make them easier to remember.
For example, the Yuigahama room was Number 1, Anna's room was Number 2, Alice and Lilia's was Number 3, and the room shared by Sylphie, Vera, Doris, and Shera was Number 4. His own room on the top floor was assigned Number 0. It was simple, easy to memorize, and reflected his special status as the Apartment Administrator.
He had actually considered using floor numbers for the phone system, as that seemed more logical. However, he realized the apartment's floors would increase as it leveled up. If he used floors, the phone numbers would have to change constantly, which would be a headache. It was better to do it this way: starting from his top floor as the base and numbering downward. That way, even if more floors were added later, the existing phone numbers wouldn't need to change.
With the landline issue settled, March 7th couldn't wait. She ran over to the phone, picked up the receiver, and called the four tenant rooms one by one. She informed them that the phones were installed and told them their respective room numbers, her voice lively and full of excitement.
The tenants were clearly delighted by the news. Surprised and grateful voices came through the line. With the landlines, they could contact Su Mu whenever they needed to, rather than passively waiting for him to come to them. They also wouldn't have to go running around just to find each other. It saved a lot of trouble and provided an extra layer of peace of mind.
