Chapter 50 - Chapter 50: Water Covers the Earth, Congealing into a Frozen Realm!

"Yes."

Lilia immediately bowed slightly, responding with the utmost respect. Her gaze fell upon Eris as she began to carry out her duties diligently.

However, she couldn't stop a stray thought from bubbling up in the back of her mind—if she were to disobey the Master's orders, what kind of punishment would she receive? If the punishment was like the one from before... Oh! Lilia shook her head violently, dispelling the absurd thought.

As a maid, to even dare fantasize about receiving the Master's "favor" in such a way was a grave transgression. She had to stick to her role; there could not be even a hint of overstepping.

Having settled Eris and Lilia, March 7th turned her attention to Misaki, Yui, and Anna. Her tone carried a note of concern. "Sister Misaki, Yui, Sister Anna—the enemies this time are humans. If you find it too difficult to face them, it's okay to go back now. We won't force you."

She knew that Misaki and the other two weren't natural-born warriors. When facing human enemies, it was only natural to feel hesitation or discomfort.

"No, we can do this!" Misaki took a deep breath, her gaze hardening. She gently squeezed Yui's hand, passing on her strength.

During this time, they had lived a stable life under the protection of the apartment and had gained abilities far beyond what they once possessed. Now was the time to repay that kindness. This wasn't just for Sylphie; it was to prove that they weren't people who could only rely on others for protection.

"Th-that's right! We can do it!" Yui nodded vigorously. Though her small face was still a bit pale, her eyes were full of stubborn resolve. She bit her lower lip, suppressing the cowardice in her heart, and clenched her fists. She had to become stronger to protect her mother and to live up to Big Brother Su Mu's expectations.

Anna also gave a slow nod, her tone calm yet carrying an indisputable firmness. "Mm."

Her gaze landed on the soldiers, and a flicker of complex emotion crossed her eyes, as if she were being reminded of memories from her past. But quickly, that emotion was replaced by determination. For her, this was one of the few opportunities to contribute to the apartment. If she backed down now, she would not only disappoint Su Mu but also fall into a cycle of self-reproach. Moreover, as a tenant, building a good relationship with the Manager was only right; she wanted to do her part to repay the debt.

"Good! In that case, let's charge!"

A sharp glint flashed in March 7th's eyes, and a confident smile played on her lips. Before her voice had even faded, she was the first to rush toward the cluster of soldiers. A burst of frigid air erupted from her, making it feel as if winter had suddenly arrived.

Whoosh—

The biting cold instantly swept through the outermost circle of soldiers. They didn't even have time to react before being frozen into lifelike ice sculptures, their faces still wearing expressions of shock and terror, their weapons frozen in mid-swing.

"Doris, you're in there, right? We're Sylphie's companions!" March 7th's voice was crisp and loud, piercing through the clamor of the battlefield toward the cave. "Now, let's take down these Kingdom scumbags together!"

"Sylphie... Is Sylphie still alive?"

Hearing that name, Doris jerked her head up. Her face, previously tight with fury, showed a hint of disbelief, and a spark of life reignited in her wide eyes. She stared fixedly in March 7th's direction—that smallest, most fragile girl was actually alive?

"Vera, Shera, charge out with me!" Doris took a deep breath, suppressing her excitement and grief as a look of resolve flashed in her eyes. With reinforcements, they might actually be able to break through. More importantly, for the sake of her fallen companions and the living Sylphie, she had to fight to the end.

"Hehe, I've been waiting for this!" Vera grinned, a bloodthirsty glint in her eyes. She lunged forward like an arrow from a bow, her short sword unsheathing with a cold flash as she struck at the nearest ice sculpture.

"Water covers the earth, congealing into a frozen realm—Icicle Field!"

Shera's voice was soft yet firm. She raised her magic staff, and the red gemstone emitted a dazzling light. She closed her eyes, her lips moving rapidly as she chanted the incantation for high-level water magic. Mana surged around her, rippling outward like waves.

The moment the chant ended, a thick layer of ice instantly formed on the ground. Countless sharp ice crystals burst from the frozen earth, rapidly extending toward the surrounding soldiers.

Unlike March 7th's instant freezing, Shera's Icicle Field was more sustained. It not only locked down the soldiers' movements but also dealt massive area-of-effect damage. Evidently, the Shera of this world didn't just possess healing magic; her combat capabilities were not to be underestimated. Furthermore, her personality was much braver than in the original story—she was no longer the girl who shrank back in fear at the first sign of trouble.

Vera's attire was also far less "revealing" than in the original lore; clearly, she didn't need to dress specifically to distract others here. It seemed that while the two sisters had still encountered thieves in this world, that "thief" had been Doris, which naturally meant the traumatic experiences of the original story never happened.

Once Shera made her move, Doris and Vera followed immediately. The dagger in Doris's hand was like a viper emerging from its hole, accurately piercing the vitals of the soldiers trapped by the ice crystals. Vera's short sword swung with incredible speed; in the flickering of her blade, the throats of soldier after soldier were slashed open.

The two moved with extreme speed and perfect coordination. Wherever they passed, the frozen soldiers were decapitated in an instant. Blood stained the ice beneath their feet, only to be immediately frozen by the lingering cold, creating a bizarre and gory spectacle.

"Yui, let's go too!" Misaki took a deep breath, pushing down her discomfort with the slaughter. She pulled a rifle from her system space and spoke firmly to Yui beside her.

"Okay, Mom!" Yui nodded hard, biting her lip to let the pain drive away her fear. She let out a low shout: "Three-Tailed Spirit Fox, Transform!"

As her words fell, a pair of fluffy white fox ears sprouted from the top of her head. Three bushy fox tails unfurled from her back, and a faint demonic energy radiated from her body.

In her Three-Tailed Spirit Fox form, Yui's movements became exceptionally fluid, and her speed increased several times over. Her youthful face took on a hint of eerie, supernatural beauty. Her hands were covered in a layer of sharp, fur-clad claws as she lunged at the nearest soldier. The claws easily tore through his heavy armor, leaving deep gashes.

When she encountered soldiers further away, she would raise her hand and condense a milky-white "Spirit Bullet." With a flick of her finger, the bullet shot out like a bolt from a crossbow, accurately hitting its target. It instantly pierced through both armor and body, leaving a gruesome bloody hole. This was one of the innate skills of her transformation—powerful, precise, and extremely practical in the chaos of the battlefield.
