Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 – Yeah, This Counts as a Weapon Too!

After changing clothes, Kiana ultimately decided not to ask the question on her mind.

Most of the time she didn't like thinking too much—but this situation was different from Nagazora City.

After calming down a bit, she realized:

This was another world.

In a completely unfamiliar place, no one could guarantee their survival.

At a moment like this, her usually "airheaded brain" suddenly kicked into gear, and her intelligence started taking over.

At the very least… the man in front of her didn't seem like a bad person.

Since they were both unlucky people thrown into another world, saying something awkward right now wouldn't help.

"Come to think of it, I haven't introduced myself yet."

After changing, Kiana spoke to Ji Ran, who was still turned away.

"Kiana Kaslana. That's my name."

"Ji Ran. That's enough for introductions."

Sensing her presence behind him, Ji Ran replied calmly.

"We just met, so I don't expect you to follow my lead immediately."

"But I need to tell you—this world is complicated."

"If you act recklessly, I can't guarantee your safety."

"Hmm… is it really that serious?"

Kiana asked, slightly puzzled.

"I remember hearing something about 'Imperial Arms' earlier. That's our target, right?"

"Is the danger you mentioned related to those?"

"Imperial Arms… yeah, somewhat."

"You can think of them as powerful weapons with usage requirements—like rare gear in a game."

"There are 48 in total. Our task is to collect 10."

"To be honest, it's not easy."

"We can't just walk up to someone and say, 'Hey, I need that—hand over your weapon.'"

"Yeah, if someone tried to take my stuff, I definitely wouldn't let them off easily!"

Kiana clenched her fist.

"But we can't just stay in this room forever, right?"

"If we do that, we'll never complete the mission."

"…True."

"Even though I'd prefer to act cautiously, you're right this time."

Ji Ran pulled open the curtains and glanced outside.

"It's still early morning. Not many people around."

"If we move now, we might avoid getting caught and interrogated by patrols… probably."

After saying that uncertainly, Ji Ran took out two metal baseball bats from his storage.

Activating [Knight Does Not Die Empty-Handed], he turned them into D-rank Noble Phantasms.

He stored one back and handed the other to Kiana.

"This world is dangerous. Take it for self-defense."

"You're really well prepared. Thanks."

Watching Kiana casually swing the bat, Ji Ran stayed silent.

From what he observed, the architecture outside resembled the Imperial Capital.

If he wasn't mistaken, that's where they were.

There might not be monsters here—

…but sometimes, humans are worse.

Better safe than sorry.

He didn't want to walk outside and die like a clown from an ambush.

Then Ji Ran recalled something he'd once read online:

[Knight Does Not Die Empty-Handed] turns anything recognized as a 'weapon' into a Noble Phantasm.

And that definition depends on the user.

"…Let's test something."

He touched his clothes and began mentally convincing himself:

"This is a weapon… this is a weapon… this is a weapon…"

"…Done."

"Alright—D-rank Noble Phantasm clothing, complete."

Then came the pants. Then the shoes.

Seeing Ji Ran suddenly touching his own clothes and shoes, Kiana stopped swinging the bat and spoke cautiously:

"Ji Ran… don't stress too much."

"If things get bad… I can help carry the burden!"

"Oh right—you reminded me."

After finishing with his shoes, Ji Ran looked at her—

and reached out to touch her shoulder.

"H-hey, what are you doing?!"

Kiana immediately slapped his hand away, her face slightly red.

"I trusted you—and now you show your true colors?!"

"You pervert!" 😤
