Seeing Subaru's surprised expression, Reinhard thought he knew her and was quite astonished. One must know that her existence was extraordinary, and not many people knew of her.
"I don't know her!"
Subaru replied very decisively, while his mind sank into deep thought. Why would this so-called powerhouse send those twin maids to kill him? Could it be that this Asagami Fujino is the final boss of this other world?
And this final boss has some kind of prophetic ability, predicting that he is some savior-like figure, so she sent people to kill him early to eliminate future trouble? But she didn't expect him to have an ability like Return by Death?
As expected, I really am the protagonist! Thinking of this, Subaru suddenly became excited. The shadow that had appeared from being hunted by Rem and Ram for so long dissipated significantly. He felt light all over, and a smile that looked somewhat strange to others appeared on his face.
Subaru, who had been lost in his own fantasies, didn't notice the somewhat strange look in Reinhard's eyes beside him.
Is Subaru okay? Why does he look so weird?
Reinhard was already considering whether he should find a doctor to check on Subaru.
"Subaru, are you alright?"
Reinhard asked with some concern.
"Ah? I'm fine, why?" Subaru looked up at Reinhard in confusion. How could anything be wrong? Right now, just thinking about being a savior made him feel better than ever; how could anything be wrong?
"It's good that you're fine. I was just worried seeing how you looked just now." Hearing that Subaru was fine, Reinhard breathed a sigh of relief.
"Just now? Forget it. Haruto, aren't we there yet? My stomach is a bit hungry." Subaru clutched his stomach with one hand, looking at Reinhard sheepishly. Since coming to this other world, he hadn't eaten much. He originally had some food from before he crossed over, but that food was later thrown away while fleeing from the twin maids' pursuit.
The pressure brought by dying several times was immense, and his spirit had been in a state of constant tension. The consumption of physical strength was even greater. Previously, to stay alive, Subaru didn't have much mind for it and didn't feel much, but now that he was safe, the feeling hit him all at once.
Feeling his stomach's lament, Subaru was now in urgent need of food to settle his stomach's growling.
Reinhard smiled gently and said to Subaru, "We're almost there, it's just ahead."
"It's really troublesome for you, Haruto. Luckily I ran into you, otherwise I wouldn't know what to do," Subaru Natsuki said gratefully.
"It's nothing. Subaru gives me a very friendly feeling; I like Subaru very much," Reinhard looked at Subaru Natsuki with a smile.
"I like Haruto too." As soon as the words left his mouth, Subaru Natsuki realized something was wrong. It seemed a bit off for two men to say such things to each other.
However, Subaru Natsuki didn't notice any resistance to it; he just Felt something was a bit off.
In Satella's Alternate Space, Fujino had a smile on her face. She wore a black teacher's outfit, her ruby-like long hair draped neatly behind her back, a pair of black-framed glasses on the bridge of her nose, and a white ruler in her hand.
"Does this suit me quite well?"
Fujino looked herself over and couldn't help but nod, feeling very satisfied. Then she turned her gaze toward Satella, who was curled up slightly in fear.
"Are you ready? The lesson on how to become an excellent witch is about to begin."
Seeing Fujino slowly approaching her with the ruler, Satella Felt an unexplainable fear, her curled-up body trembling slightly.
"No... no... don't... don't come over here."
