Sound of metal clashing and wolf's howl filled the surroundings as key and his divine dogs were fighting a group of goblins.
The green maggots used stone weapons but it was useless against the razor sharp claws of the divine dogs.
"Blackie kill the goblin on the right"
Key ordered as he thrust a sword through the heart of a goblin when another sneaked up on his back, ready to attack when suddenly his shadow materialized and a white wolf jump out of it, cutting the goblin in half.
"Thank u whitey" key smiled and the fight continued.
10 mins later...
15 goblins corpses and green blood covered the ground as key breathed a lil hard.
"Harder then I thought" he sigh and cancelled his shikigami.
"Gotta collect it first before it attracts another goblin horde" he thought and immediately went on to business, cutting the ears of those goblins with a dagger and storing them in his shadow, he immediately sprinted back towards the town.
It was sunset when he reached the town gate and another 10 mins to reach the adventure's guild.
The adventure guild of this town was a small tavern building with a restaurant on the ground floor and the quest collector on the fist floor. Key ignored the rowdy chatter of the ground floor when a hearty voice called out to him,
"Look the wonder rookie is back!"
"Come join us Megumi san"
The ladies invited key
"Not Tonight guys" key made a sorry gesture while smiling and immediately went towards the guild receptionist.
"Gone to see his little muse, ahh the joys of youth." one bearded old guy laughed while pulling his beard
On the first floor.
"Megumi-san!" the receptionist greeted with a blush. She is a attractive young woman and seeing by her demeanor has a crush on key due to his appearance.
"Ah Tivi, good to see u again" key smiled and after a pleasant chatter, he gave her the goblin ears from his shadow and the receptionist took it as if it was a common occurrence.
"That will be 45 silver coins" she gave him a healthy leather pouch and key gladly accepted it with a smile, who wouldn't appreciate money?
In this world 30 silver coin could feed a family of 4 for an entire month quite comfortably and as for denominations? 30 copper coins = 1 silver coin and 30 silver coin = 1 gold coin, what he got was 1 and half gold coin worth for slaying 10 goblins all within an afternoon's work.
Delighted as he was leaving, a shy voice interrupted him.
"Um Megumi san, r u busy tonight?"
A blush creeped up key's face as he thought "Could I be finally?"
30 mins later....
It was dinner. She was asking him out for dinner.
Key looked at the shy woman sitting in front of him who was trying her best to eat elegantly with a smile on his lips.
When he first find out she was asking him out for dinner, he was disappointed since he thought tonight he will be eating something different but now? Honestly he preferred this much more, looking at the blushing girl in front of him who was trying very hard to be composed, he felt a comforting warmness in his heart.
"What are u smiling for?" she said while her face was cherry tomato
"Nothinggg"he replied playfully
After 4 months in this strange world, he was finally home.
