The world of Verna is something different than the usual planet. Verna had blue skies and seas even bluer. People were everywhere, bustling about. The city of New Ar'lin was a beautiful one if you're in the right place. There were a total of three layers to New Ar'lin. There was the bottom layer or Delta. This was where criminals lived, or so we've been told. It was underground with lots of pipes and electrical systems. The houses there were beaten down and torn. Then there's the middle layer, or Alpha. It was basically the old world. Houses and streets and cars. Alpha was above Delta, but it's not as close as you'd expect. There were rivers and dams and cities and towers hundreds of teca's (about 10 feet per teca) tall. Lastly, the highest layer, or the Omega. It's this huge floating island, way up in the sky. It's our capital of New Ar'lin. Politicians and the rich live up there, including me. But there were two layers no one wanted to talk about. Echo and Unity. Echo is where the lowest of the low go. The survival rate is unknown, but people doubt anyone survives down there. Unity is the most unknown layer of all, though. It's only been described in ancient texts, most of which are gone and destroyed. If you encounter one, you can't unlearn the truth. Either you join the world, or break it.
