Across the city, Fu Liang sat in the same luxury office overlooking the ocean.
The room was dark except for a single desk lamp.
His assistant stood nearby, speaking carefully.
"Our men were interrupted."
Fu Liang didn't react.
"By who?"
"Varma."
Now Fu Liang slowly leaned back in his chair.
A faint smile appeared on his face.
"Of course."
The assistant continued.
"He warned them to leave."
Fu Liang tapped the desk thoughtfully.
"So Varma is protecting her."
"Yes, sir."
Fu Liang stood and walked toward the window again.
Rain streaked down the glass as lightning flashed far across the ocean.
"How interesting."
The assistant hesitated.
"Should we remove her?"
Fu Liang shook his head slowly.
"Not yet."
"Sir, she is investigating the explosion."
"I know."
"And Varma is helping her."
Fu Liang smiled faintly.
"That is exactly why we must wait."
The assistant looked confused.
Fu Liang turned back toward him.
"You see… Varma and I have known each other for a very long time."
"How long?"
Fu Liang's smile faded slightly.
"Long enough to know how he thinks."
Lightning illuminated the room briefly.
For a moment Fu Liang's expression looked almost amused.
"Varma will try to uncover the truth himself."
"And when he does…"
The assistant's eyes widened slightly.
"He will lead us to the last remaining secrets of that night."
Fu Liang nodded.
"Yes."
He looked once more toward the distant ocean.
Ten years ago something extremely valuable had been lost in the port explosion.
Something even the investigators had never discovered.
But if Nadia and Varma continued digging…
They might find it.
And when they did—
Fu Liang intended to take it back.
No matter who had to die.
This ends the introductions with a very short chapter. Through this we can see how our Mr. Villian contradicts himself just to see how Varma reacts. But why does he want him to react. Did they really go along that long as he said. can we believe this. Stay Tunned!
