Chapter 258 - Chapter 259: Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder

The kitchen was filled with the rhythmic clatter of pans and Kushina's cheerful humming.

Saiki leaned against the doorframe, watching her back as she bustled about in her apron. Her long red hair swayed with her movements, and the apron string cinched her slender waist, highlighting the alluring curves of her body.

"Need a hand?" he asked.

"No, no!" Kushina replied without turning around, her knife moving fast as she sliced radishes into perfect, thin pieces. "Just sit and wait! It's only two more dishes! It'll be ready in a heartbeat."

Her movements weren't exactly professional—even a bit clumsy—but she was focused and earnest.

"Do you cook for yourself now?" he asked.

"Mm... I wasn't very good at first. I failed so many times." Kushina let out a bashful giggle. "But the auntie next door taught me a few tricks. At least it's edible now."

As she spoke, she was frying a fish, the oil popping and sizzling.

She fumbled with the spatula to flip it, and the tail broke off, hitting the stove.

"Ah!" she cried out, wanting to grab it but afraid of the heat.

Saiki couldn't help but chuckle. He walked over and took the spatula from her. "Let me handle it."

"I... I can do it!" Kushina tried to reclaim control, but Saiki had already expertly adjusted the heat and flipped the fish in one smooth motion.

The golden-brown skin sizzled perfectly, the aroma filling the air.

Kushina gave him a sheepish, embarrassed smile.

The two of them worked together to finish the meal—Saiki as the head chef and Kushina as the assistant.

Even though she knocked over the salt shaker once and nearly cut her finger on some green onions, the final spread of three dishes and a soup looked quite impressive.

Braised fish, sautéed vegetables, radish stew with meat, and a steaming bowl of miso soup.

Simple home cooking, yet it carried a scent that spoke of domestic peace.

"Dinner is served!" Kushina announced excitedly, setting the table. Her eyes sparkled as she looked at Saiki. "I wanted you to taste my cooking, but you ended up doing most of it..."

Saiki took a bite of the fish. It was tender and perfectly seasoned. He smiled. "Two years in a coma, and thankfully my cooking skills haven't regressed. You try it too."

Kushina took a bite and beamed. "As expected of you, Saiki! You're still the best chef I know..."

"It's alright," Saiki said, taking another bite.

They sat across from each other and began to eat.

Kushina was talkative, narrating everything that had happened over the last two years—her work at the Sealing Corps, her new friends, the shifts in the village.

When she spoke, her eyes lit up, and her gestures were so animated she nearly knocked over her soup bowl several times.

Saiki mostly listened, asking a question here or there.

His gaze never left her face. Watching her vibrant expressions, a corner of his heart felt incredibly soft.

"By the way, Lady Tsunade has been buried with the war, but she still personally led a team to Shikkotsu Forest once to check on you." Kushina said softly, sneaking a look at Saiki's reaction. "I happened to be at the Hokage Building for a mission hand-off when she returned... her eyes were so red."

Saiki's chopsticks paused. "When was this?"

"About a year ago," Kushina said, picking at her rice. "She locked herself in her office for a full day after she got back. She looked haggard for a week but lied to everyone, saying she'd stayed up all night with paperwork."

A moment of silence fell over the table.

"I see," Saiki whispered. "And how have you been? Truly?"

Kushina nodded. "I'm okay. I haven't had much to worry about."

As she said it, her fingers traced the rim of her bowl.

Saiki reached across the table and covered her hand with his.

"Don't worry anymore. I'm back. I'll handle everything from here on out."

Her hand was small in his. Kushina blushed and lowered her head.

After dinner, Kushina insisted on doing the dishes.

Saiki didn't argue this time; he simply leaned against the kitchen door and chatted with her.

The water splashed, and dishes clinked.

Kushina was a bit of a scatterbrain when it came to housework; she was clumsy, and soap suds managed to get all over her sleeves.

"Actually..." she said suddenly, her back to him. "Minato-sensei came to see me."

Saiki's eyes narrowed slightly.

"Six months ago, he came back for a resupply and asked me out for dinner." Kushina's voice was steady. "He said... that if the war ends, and if I'm willing, he could apply for a transfer back to the village permanently. That we could..."

She didn't finish the thought, but the implication was clear.

"How did you respond?" Saiki asked, his voice devoid of emotion.

Kushina turned off the tap and turned around.

Her hands were still covered in suds, but her face wore a smile of absolute clarity.

"I said, 'I'm sorry, Minato, but my heart already belongs to someone else.' I told him it belongs to a certain idiot who saved my life twice and brought me back from the dead."

Saiki stared at her. He lunged forward and pulled her into a tight hug.

Kushina let out a small gasp, her hands pressed against his chest. The soap suds transferred to his shirt.

"I'm making a mess..." she whispered.

"It doesn't matter."

The hug was quiet. No kisses, just a desperate, grounding embrace.

The scent of food lingered in the kitchen, and the faint chirping of autumn crickets echoed from outside.

It was a simple, precious moment of intimacy.

After a long while, Kushina gently pushed him back, her face red again. "The dishes aren't finished..."

"I'll help."

They stood side-by-side at the sink, one washing and one rinsing. Their movements gradually fell into a perfect rhythm.

Kushina stole a glance at Saiki's focused profile. "What are your plans now?"

"Tomorrow, I discuss the war with Tsunade," Saiki said. "The situation in the village can't be allowed to drag on any longer."

Kushina nodded, her expression turning serious. "Tell me if you need anything. The Sealing Corps will support you."

"I'll need you eventually," Saiki said, rinsing the last plate. "But not for that. Not right now. Right now..."

He turned around, bracing his hands on either side of the sink, effectively trapping Kushina between his arms. "Now, I just want to look at you."

Kushina's face flamed, but she didn't retreat.

She raised a damp hand and traced Saiki's jawline. "You've changed so much... and yet you're exactly the same."

"How have I changed?"

"You're more... reliable." Kushina tilted her head. "In the past, you were strong, but you felt like a selfish, impulsive boy. Now... you feel like a man."

Saiki smirked. "I didn't before?"

"You did, but it's different now," Kushina said earnestly. "Now, you're someone a person wants to lean on."

The words were soft, yet they hit Saiki with the weight of a mountain.

He leaned down, his forehead resting against hers.

"Then lean on me as much as you want."

Kushina closed her eyes, a smile of pure happiness touching her lips.

Outside, the moon rose higher, casting their joined shadows against the kitchen wall.

Inside the bedroom, which still maintained its youthful girl's decor, Kushina was pushed gently onto the bed. Saiki shed his upper gear, revealing his sharply defined, lean torso.

Her cheeks were a brilliant crimson as she stared at his body—muscular, yet still possessing the lithe grace of youth. Her heart hammered against her ribs like a drum.

"Kushina!" Saiki whispered her name.

"Mm!" Even though she was older and his former teacher, Kushina acted like a shy maiden, her head bowed in embarrassment.

Hearing her response, Saiki sat beside her. He cupped her soft, white face in his hands and pressed his lips to her red mouth.

Kushina shivered. She squeezed her eyes shut, her long lashes trembling. Her lips parted slightly as she clumsily returned his kiss.

The kiss was passionate but brief. When they pulled apart, a thin thread of saliva stretched between them.

Kushina opened her eyes; they were misty and glazed with a budding desire.

"I'm taking these off," Saiki said. He knew she wouldn't refuse him, but he wanted to hear it.

Knowing what was coming, Kushina's heart was a mess of shame, anxiety, and a deep, pulsing anticipation. It had been two years, after all.

Looking into his expectant eyes, she bit her lip and nodded.

With her cooperation, Saiki easily unzipped her green skirt and slid the blouse from her shoulders. Her conservative yet alluring red lingerie was revealed, framing her exquisite, developing body.

Despite being mentally prepared, she found his burning gaze overwhelming. She turned her head aside, her fingers bunching the bedsheets in a white-knuckled grip.

Saiki's hands reached behind her. With a practiced click, the clasp was undone. Two years of growth had been kind to her; her lovely white breasts were now more full and perky than he remembered.

Nervousness and bashfulness flooded Kushina's heart. She tried to cover herself with her hands, but seeing the way Saiki's eyes lit up with hunger, she forced herself to stay still.

Saiki reached out with his "wicked" hands. Her skin was soft, smooth, and incredibly elastic. Kushina wasn't as massive as Tsunade, but her breasts were more than a single hand could hold.

Under Saiki's touch, her breasts were kneaded into various arousing shapes. Kushina endured the sensation, her body turning weak and pliable.

The little bastard then used his fingers to roll and pinch her erect pink cherries, sending jolts of heat through her system.

When he leaned down like a hungry child and began to suck and swirl his tongue around her nipples, Kushina thought she would die of embarrassment.

She instinctively pulled Saiki's head closer to her chest, unsure if she was trying to hide him or welcome him deeper.

As his hand began to wander downward, Kushina clamped her thighs shut, a final reflexive defense of her modesty.

But as Saiki's fingers worked their magic, she slowly forgot her shame and abandoned her resistance.

Once she lay fully exposed on the bed, there was no turning back.

Her safety shorts and red panties were slid down her legs. The dazed Kushina even cooperated, lifting her plump, round peach to assist him.

The preparation was complete, and Saiki was burning with a frantic heat. He looked at the beautiful garden between her legs—the flower was in full bloom, and the peach was slick and overflowing with sweet nectar. Saiki leaned down and took a deep, wet bite.

Kushina let out a high-pitched cry. She gripped Saiki's hair, trying to anchor herself. She was terrified she might break under the intensity of his oral assault.

He tasted every drop of her soft, juicy fruit, but it wasn't enough to satisfy the fire in his gut.

He lifted his head and licked the moisture from his lips. His gaze was predatory as he looked at the red-faced, gasping woman whose eyes were now entirely out of focus.

"Sensei Kushina... I'm coming in!" Saiki whispered hoarsely. He crawled on top of her.

Two years of cultivation had steeled his mind and allowed him to control his state perfectly, but he hadn't tasted meat in two long years.

Kushina let out a long, shuddering moan as Saiki found the familiar path to her depths.

After a moment of testing and teasing at the entrance, Saiki drove himself home. The sensation of being stretched and filled to the absolute brim made Kushina wrap her limbs around him like an octopus, anchoring her soul to his.

Saiki stabilized his breathing, fighting the urge to release instantly under the intense, velvet pressure of her interior.

In two years, Kushina had become even more voluptuous. The lack of use meant her passage was incredibly tight, and she was milking him with every involuntary contraction.

Saiki felt a surge of relief; he was glad his "first match" back was Kushina. If he had gone to Tsunade first, her legendary "milking power" might have made him surrender in minutes—and that would have been a massive blow to his pride!

Once they both adjusted to the union, Saiki began to move. The rhythmic plowing and the wet, slapping sounds of their bodies filled the room. Kushina held him tight, her cries of pleasure echoing his name as she surrendered to his love.

The night was young, and their reunion had only just begun.

War, duty, and the chaos of their relationships... all of that could wait until the sun rose.

Tonight, in this small house, two souls who had been separated by time and death wanted nothing more than to cherish each other's heat.
