"My name is Lucian. Glad to make your acquaintance."
"Senna."
Looking at the two of them, Caleb's eyelids kept twitching wildly.
He knew exactly what these two were like.
Sentinels of Light. But in practical terms, during that storyline, their strength...
It could almost be said to have amounted to nothing.
Without Akshan's final contribution and the plot itself forcing the Ruined King's defeat, these Sentinels of Light?
More like Sentinels of Nothing.
From the bottom of his heart, Caleb did not think much of these two. In fact, before the Ruination storyline, he had thought the two of them were pretty good.
But that storyline was simply too strange, so strange that Caleb believed it had been made to sell skins and end with a "light triumphs over darkness" conclusion.
Because of that, ever since arriving here, Caleb had been thinking about that unusual Harrowing, which had caught his attention somewhat.
Kalista, Thresh, Hecarim, and according to Janna, there had also been a dead-eyed yordle.
That was more or less Vex.
"Why did so many major players come here?"
The Twin Cities were not like Bilgewater, where everyone fought for their lives. The defenses here were very thin.
With so many major forces arriving, if Caleb and the last of Zaun's people had not pushed themselves past their limits...
The Twin Cities would likely have suffered a massive harvest of lives.
"Something big is about to happen on the Shadow Isles."
Senna's first sentence made Caleb's scalp go numb.
"No, no... Please don't..."
Caleb muttered silently. His previous defense of the Twin Cities could be considered the flap of a butterfly's wings.
Judging from Lucian and Senna coming to find him, it could be said that a storm was about to be stirred up.
Could his desperate battle that night really have changed something?
Lucian looked at the man in front of him, who seemed as if something had gone wrong with his head, and could not help asking Senna quietly, "Is there something wrong with this guy's brain...?"
"Say that again, and your charming wife will have to drag you out of this city with one hand and drag that giant gun with the other."
Caleb's voice suddenly turned cold and sharp.
Lucian could be sharp-tongued at times, but he did have some ability when dealing with creatures from the Shadow Isles.
But that ability only went as far as "some." If Senna had not escaped from Thresh's lantern last time, he probably would have died a violent death already.
And since Caleb was familiar with the Ruination storyline, he also knew that this was because of Isolde's soul fragment.
It allowed Senna not only to avoid losing herself inside the lantern, but also to form a massive gun.
Seeing that Caleb seemed serious, Lucian could only shut his mouth.
This was someone else's city. Ever since Lucian and Senna had begun investigating, Caleb's standing among the residents of Zaun had been visibly high.
So if Caleb was not joking when he said that, then with a single order from him, the entire city would hunt them down.
And the weapons of the Sentinels of Light were not particularly effective against ordinary people. On top of that, they would be completely overwhelmed in numbers.
That was a result neither Lucian nor Senna wanted to see.
They had come to discuss matters, not to start a fight. That was all.
"During the last Harrowing, I heard you performed well, so we came to ask about the situation."
Senna's tone softened considerably, taking on a more consultative air.
The man in front of them was definitely no ordinary person. On that point, Senna and Lucian were in agreement.
But they had clearly underestimated Caleb's strength.
Someone who could risk his life during the Harrowing against several of the Shadow Isles' main forces and reduce the Twin Cities' losses to the lowest possible level...
Judging by the look of it, Lucian and Senna were still rather proud of their identities as Sentinels...
But Caleb only thought they were fools, chasing Viego all over the world like idiots.
His original intention was to search for his queen. Shouldn't you people be searching for a way to stop the Black Mist instead...?
The thing destroying the world was the Black Mist. Viego was only using the Black Mist to search for his queen.
Yet even then, the way Viego was finally defeated had still left Caleb feeling sick.
A Viego who could not be defeated under those circumstances had ultimately failed to protect the Isolde he had called back.
He even threw himself away, getting sealed within the Hallowed Mist by Gwen and the others.
So even though Caleb knew the storyline now, he still had no idea what the actual situation was.
Taking that into account, Caleb decided to hear what news these two had brought.
"After the last Harrowing, the two of us sensed something unusual, so we made a trip to the Shadow Isles."
"What did you find?"
When Caleb said this, he could not help becoming nervous as well.
If the situation was wrong, it meant the events of the Ruination were about to arrive.
"The range of the Shadow Isles hasn't expanded. Instead, it's shrinking."
"That means something is about to come out..."
Caleb almost did not dare imagine what he was about to face.
It would be overwhelming Black Mist, causing all of Zaun and Piltover to lose their light.
The Great City of Demacia. The Immortal Bastion of Noxus.
"We've already notified the Sentinels in various regions. Everyone has prepared for wartime."
"Speaking of that, since Sentinel weapons are especially effective against the Black Mist, can you enchant this too?"
"What?"
Before Lucian could understand what Caleb meant, he already felt the ground tremble beneath his feet.
The earth rumbled. As Caleb chatted with them while walking, they had already reached the edge of Zaun, the Dredge.
Lucian and Senna stared in disbelief at the enormous Mecha suit.
Was he insane?
Lucian finally understood why this guy had been able to lead the people of Zaun against the Harrowing.
Even the Sentinels of Light stationed in Zaun at the time suddenly did not seem that outstanding anymore.
For such a gigantic Mecha suit, Caleb still wanted to install a Sentinel weapon on it?
Ruthless... Lucian had originally thought Senna's gun was already exaggerated enough.
...
The Shadow Isles.
A place shrouded in the Ruination's mist.
The creatures here had all fallen into a state that was neither living nor dead. Only weapons enchanted with light could kill them completely.
But in the end, what exactly was light?
Caleb still had not figured that out even now.
Kayle? The Aspect of Light? Or something else?
But right now, none of that mattered.
Thresh, the warden of this place, had set aside the lantern that had gathered souls for so long.
With both hands tightly gripping the Blade of the Ruined King, a faint trace of a smile could be seen on Thresh's skull.
Without the obstruction from last time, the sword was smoothly pulled free from the ground this time. The Black Mist gathered around the Shadow Isles erupted violently, swallowing the surrounding sea.
"Your servant is incompetent."
And Thresh, who had always been unruly, could not help dropping to one knee in the face of that terrifying aura.
"No matter. Have you found Isolde?"
The one who appeared where the sword had originally been was an unquestionably handsome man, though his skin and hair had both turned deathly pale.
The ruined aura coiled around the Blade of the Ruined King. Before long, the sound of hooves rang out. Hecarim merely glanced at that person's face before lowering himself.
"My king."
"Any price, I will pay. Any atrocity, I will commit. For her, I will do anything."
He paid no attention to the triangular wound in his chest. He only looked coldly at Yorick, who had already raised his shovel.
He had honored the agreement and helped the Shadow Isles with the Harrowing operation before this.
Now, Yorick had a chance to bury this king completely.
"Monk, do you wish to challenge me?"
