Chapter 288 - The Jealous Little King

Part 2: The Jealous Little King

Jealousy…

Usually comes with intensity.

Possession.

Emotion.

But no one expected…

A baby…

To feel it too.

A Peaceful Afternoon… At First

The living room was warm with soft laughter.

Elara sat comfortably on the couch—

Ryan resting peacefully in her arms.

Seraphina sat close by—

Guarding her "little king" as usual.

"…He likes it here."

Elara said softly.

"…Of course."

Seraphina replied.

"…This is the best spot."

"…Is it?"

A voice came in.

Amelia walked in—

Smiling warmly.

"…Can I hold him?"

Elara looked down at Ryan—

Then back at her.

"…Carefully."

"…Always."

The First Sign

Amelia reached out—

Taking Ryan gently into her arms.

Everything was calm.

Normal.

Until—

Ryan moved.

His face shifted.

Then—

A small sound.

"…Ah…"

Then louder.

"…Aahhh—!"

"…Oh—"

Amelia blinked.

"…Did I do something wrong?"

Elara frowned slightly.

"…No…"

Ryan's tiny hands moved—

Reaching.

Back toward Elara.

"…Wait…"

Seraphina leaned closer.

"…He wants mummy."

"…Already?"

Amelia said, surprised.

"…Give him."

The moment Ryan was back in Elara's arms—

Silence.

Immediate.

"…Oh."

Amelia blinked again.

"…That was fast."

"…Very fast."

Ethan added from the doorway.

The Realization

"…Wait…"

Luca walked in slowly.

"…Are we saying…"

He pointed at Ryan.

"…He just rejected her?"

"…Yes."

Ethan replied calmly.

"…That's cold."

"…He's a baby."

Amelia said.

"…A ruthless one."

Luca added.

Ryan moved slightly—

Now calm again.

"…Look at him…"

Seraphina said proudly.

"…He chose mummy."

"…Of course he did."

Elara smiled softly.

But then—

Damian, who had been quiet…

Finally spoke.

"…Interesting."

Damian Finds It Funny

Everyone turned to him.

"…What?"

Elara asked.

Damian stepped closer.

Looking down at Ryan.

"…He doesn't like sharing."

"…He's a baby."

"…So?"

A pause.

"…He knows what's his."

Silence.

Then—

Luca burst out laughing.

"…No way—"

"…This is your son."

"…What is that supposed to mean?"

Damian asked calmly.

"…You don't share either."

"…I do."

"…When?"

"…When necessary."

"…Exactly."

Laughter filled the room again.

Even Elara couldn't hold it.

Testing the Theory

"…Okay."

Ethan stepped forward.

"…Let's test it."

"…Test what?"

Amelia asked.

"…If he only reacts like that to her."

"…Don't test my son."

Damian said calmly.

"…Too late."

Ethan replied.

He reached for Ryan.

Carefully taking him.

For a moment—

Nothing.

Then—

Ryan looked at Elara again.

His face…

Shifted.

"…Ahh—!"

"…Okay, okay—"

Ethan immediately gave him back.

Silence again.

"…Confirmed."

Luca nodded.

"…He's jealous."

"…He's not jealous."

Elara said, laughing softly.

"…He is."

Seraphina insisted.

"…He doesn't like people carrying mummy."

"…That's actually scary."

Amelia said.

"…It's cute."

Elara corrected.

"…It's both."

Ethan added.

The Teasing Begins

"…So…"

Luca smirked.

"…We have another possessive one."

"…Stop talking."

Damian said.

"…I'm serious."

"…He's literally—"

Luca pointed again.

"…A mini version of you."

"…That's not funny."

"…It is."

"…Very funny."

Amelia added.

Elara looked at Damian—

Smiling softly.

"…I think it's adorable."

"…You would."

"…He loves me."

"…I know."

Damian replied quietly.

Their eyes met briefly.

Soft.

Understanding.

Seraphina's Final Judgment

"…Okay."

Seraphina stood up again.

"…New rule."

Everyone sighed.

"…What now?"

Luca asked.

"…No one carries mummy."

Silence.

"…That's not happening."

Ethan said.

"…It has to."

"…Why?"

"…Because Ryan will cry."

"…He'll survive."

"…No."

"…Yes."

Ryan made a small sound again.

"…See?"

Seraphina said proudly.

"…He agrees with me."

"…He doesn't understand you."

Damian said calmly.

"…He does."

"…He doesn't."

"…HE DOES."

Laughter exploded again.

End Scene — A Tiny King with Big Feelings

Jealousy isn't always dark.

Sometimes—

It's innocent.

Pure.

A simple need to hold on to love.

Ryan didn't understand the world yet.

But he understood one thing.

Who he wanted.

Who he needed.

And who he wasn't ready to share.

And somehow—

That made him even more…

Like his father.
