Part 2: The Place He Chose to Bleed
Some meetings are accidents.
This one?
Was a setup.
A test.
And someone…
Was going to pay for it.
The Location
An empty structure at the edge of campus.
Half-built.
Abandoned.
Concrete pillars.
Shadows stretching long.
Perfect for silence.
Perfect for trouble.
Ethan parked the car without a word.
Engine off.
Tension on.
Amelia stepped out first.
Not hesitant.
Not afraid.
He followed right behind her.
Closer than usual.
Not touching—
But ready.
Watching everything.
"…Stay behind me."
He muttered.
"…No."
She replied instantly.
He looked at her.
"…This isn't the time—"
"…Exactly why it is."
A pause.
"…I'm not hiding while you fight my battles."
Their eyes locked.
Clash.
But this time—
He didn't argue.
"…Stay close."
"…That I can do."
He Was Already There
"…Took you long enough."
Kelvin stepped out from the shadows.
Hands in his pockets.
Too relaxed.
Like this was a game.
"…You brought him."
He added, eyes flicking to Ethan.
"…I said alone."
Amelia stepped forward slightly.
"…And I said no."
Silence.
Kelvin smiled faintly.
"…You've changed."
"…I grew up."
That answer landed clean.
But Kelvin didn't flinch.
He stepped closer.
Too close.
"…Or maybe…"
A glance at Ethan.
"…he just made you harder."
That was enough.
Ethan moved.
Fast.
Grabbing Kelvin by the front of his shirt—
Slamming him against the concrete pillar.
"…Watch your mouth."
His voice dropped.
Cold.
"…You don't get to talk about her."
Kelvin winced—
But then—
He laughed.
Actually laughed.
"…There it is."
"…The part she pretends isn't real."
That line—
It cut deeper than expected.
Because it wasn't just aimed at Ethan.
It was aimed at Amelia too.
The Psychological Game
"…You think this is love?"
Kelvin said, breathing slightly harder now.
"…This?"
He nodded toward Ethan's grip.
"…This is control."
Amelia stepped forward immediately.
"…Enough."
Her voice sharp.
Focused.
"…You don't get to twist things to fit your narrative."
Kelvin looked at her.
Really looked this time.
"…Then tell me I'm wrong."
A pause.
"…Tell me he doesn't scare you sometimes."
Silence.
Because that question—
It wasn't empty.
It had truth in it.
And Ethan felt it.
His grip tightened.
"…Say another word—"
"…Or what?"
Kelvin cut in.
"…You'll prove my point?"
That did it.
Someone Gets Hurt
Ethan's control snapped.
Not cracked—
Snapped.
His fist slammed into Kelvin's face.
Hard.
Kelvin hit the ground instantly.
Blood.
Shock.
Silence—
Then another hit.
And another.
"…Ethan, stop!"
Amelia shouted.
But he didn't hear her.
Didn't see her.
All he saw—
Was red.
"…You don't touch her—"
Another hit.
"…You don't look at her—"
Another.
"…You don't exist near her—"
"ENOUGH!"
Amelia stepped in—
Grabbing his arm.
Pulling him back with everything she had.
"…STOP!"
That word—
Finally reached him.
He froze.
Breathing heavy.
Looking down at what he had done.
Kelvin—
On the ground.
Blood on his lip.
Barely conscious.
And then—
Ethan looked at his hands.
Again.
Blood.
Too familiar.
"…I…"
He stepped back slightly.
"…I didn't…"
But he did.
And they both knew it.
The Aftermath
Amelia looked between them.
At Kelvin—
Then at Ethan.
And for the first time—
Her chest tightened.
Not fear of him.
But fear of what he could become.
"…We're leaving."
She said quietly.
No argument.
No hesitation.
She grabbed his hand—
And pulled him away.
This time—
Not letting him stay.
Not letting him go further.
End Scene — The Damage Is Done
Kelvin crossed a line.
But Ethan?
He shattered it.
And now—
There was no pretending anymore.
No denying what he was capable of.
The question isn't if Amelia loves him.
She does.
The real question is—
Can she love him…
Without losing herself?
To be continued…
