Riley's POV
Consciousness returns to me slowly, wrapped in the familiar warmth of Caleb's scent. The realization hits me that I must be in his room, where they brought me to recover. My eyes flutter open to confirm what my senses already know. I'm nestled against Caleb's chest, his strong arms creating a protective cocoon around me. Above me, his face is peaceful in sleep, and something inside me doesn't want to disturb this moment.
But my bladder has other plans.
I try to slip away carefully, moving with the stealth of someone who's done this before. His arms immediately tighten around me, pulling me back against his solid warmth. For a heartbeat, I consider surrendering to the comfort of staying here, breathing in his calming presence. But necessity wins out.
"Caleb, I have to pee," I whisper against his chest.
A low chuckle rumbles through him as he releases his hold on me.
