When we arrive back at Riley's place, she immediately heads upstairs to her bedroom to change out of her dinner clothes. I trail behind her and settle onto her bed to wait while she disappears into the bathroom.
Tonight feels like a turning point between us. The weight of everything we discussed settles over me, and I can hardly contain my excitement that she's genuinely willing to try again with us. And that kiss we shared - I'm still reeling from it. The moment her lips touched mine, every nerve in my body came alive. I don't think I could have handled it if she had pulled away or changed her mind. There aren't enough words in any language to capture what that kiss meant to me, and I'm desperate for it to happen again and again.
