Riley's POV
Caleb drops to one knee in front of me, his strong hands capturing mine with desperate intensity. "Riley, do you really think it was just us wanting you back?" His voice carries a raw emotion that makes my chest tighten. "The entire pack has been taking shifts searching for you. You're carrying their future Alpha. Every single member will fight to protect you now. You belong here, with all of us."
The words hit me like a physical blow. I stare at him, my mouth falling open in shock. The whole pack was looking for me? But why would they care now when they barely acknowledged my existence before?
During my time here, only my small group of friends ever showed me any kindness. The rest of the pack treated me like I was invisible, worthless. So why this sudden change of heart now that I'm gone? What makes me so valuable all of a sudden?
