The sound of the alarm rang loudly in the quiet room.
"Jisoo! Wake up, you'll be late!" Minji's voice echoed from outside.
Jisoo opened her eyes slowly and looked at the clock.
"WHAT?!" she jumped out of bed.
"It's my first day!"
She rushed to get ready, her heart beating fast with excitement and nervousness. A new school, new people… and maybe a new beginning.The morning air was fresh as Jisoo ran toward the school gate.
"Why today of all days…" she murmured, trying to fix her hair while running.
Suddenly—
THUD!
She bumped into someone.
"Hey! Can't you see where you're going?" a cold voice said.
Jisoo looked up, slightly annoyed.
In front of her stood a tall boy, calm but clearly irritated.
You were standing in the middle of the way!" she replied.
The boy raised an eyebrow.
"Excuses already? Impressive."
Jisoo frowned. "Wow, rude."
Before she could say anything else, a group of students walked past them whispering:
Isn't that Kevin?"
"The topper?"
"He's so popular…"
Jisoo blinked. Kevin?
The boy—Kevin—didn't say anything more. He simply walked past her like she didn't matter.
Jisoo crossed her arms.
Great. First day and I already met a rude guy."
Inside the classroom, Jisoo tried to calm herself.
"New start," she whispered. "Stay positive."
The teacher entered and smiled.
"Class, we have a new student today."
Jisoo stood up nervously.
"Hi… I'm Jisoo."
Soft whispers filled the room.
"Take your seat," the teacher said.
Jisoo looked around—
And froze.
The only empty seat was… next to Kevin.
"You've got to be kidding me…" she muttered.
She walked slowly and sat beside him.
Kevin didn't even look at her.
Jisoo sighed.
"This is going to be a long year.
As the class continued, Jisoo stole a glance at him.
Calm. Focused. Distant.
"Why does he act like that?" she thought.
At that moment, Kevin spoke without looking at her.
If you keep staring, you'll miss the lesson."
Jisoo quickly looked away, embarrassed.
"I wasn't staring!"
"Sure," he replied calmly.
