Abel urged me to answer as he tightened his arms around my neck. I gave a nod, as he still hugged me.
“…Of course.”
“It-it’s a promise. Pinky swear.”
“Okay, pinky swear…”
He didn’t seem satisfied with just words, and escaped my embrace and put out his pinky in a hurry.
He was crying now. With one hand, he kept wiping out his tears and with the other, he kept showing his pinky as he insisted I pinky swear.
I wiped his tears off as I entwined my finger on Abel’s tiny finger.
“Why are you crying really? I’m not going anywhere…”
“I-I’m not sure. My heart feels weird. It feels as if Your Ladyship would just leave to somewhere far, it, it…”
His face showed so much pain, despite him not being hurt at all. Abel crumpled his teary face as he clutched at his chest.
“…hurts my heart so much.”
Hearing those words, I teared up myself.
