Earth was once a peaceful place, Children would play on the parks, birds would fly and sing in the morning, everyone was happy, But suddenly the ground started shaking,the world Rifts appeared ,in those Rifts crawled unknown beast to humanity,what was once fairytales and scary creatures in the books started crossing those rifts such as godblins,orcs and lizardmen, After 60% of earth's population was annihilated,There were humans who gained unimaginable powers such as Skills and classes that defined who they were and the power to slay the beast and monsters, Humanity gained hope after 2 years Earth gained control and could live a life without cowering and started Raiding these rifts to gain food,money and abundance of resources such as equipment and cancel the Rift break that would deal unimaginable casualties,
The story starts with Greed a kind hearted child who was living with his grandmother but his grandmother passed away leaving greed alone his house was taken over by loan sharks that his grandmother was indebted to, Now Greed has to live in the cold streets,
A thin looking young-man with dark circles in his eyes, torn clothes and bare footed wakes up in the middle of the night shivering, hungry he looks for food on dumpster to dumpster he spots an alley across the dumpster he was in, it was dark as a shadow rats all over the place he approached thinking that rats are swarming in the place there could be food in that dumpster,and he was right
"Finally something to eat i thought i was going to die"
grabs the leftover food from the dumpster, as greed gnaws at the food, a loud noise came from above, a masked human who seemed to be a thief was at the rooftop of a house was clashing with another who seemed to be a hunter they clashed with each other to death,the hunter died and the masked human dropped at the ground Greed was hiding of fear of being involved but when he saw the man in the ground he crawled near and asked the man who was in also at death's door
"He whispered silently"
(What happened are you okay mister?)
Greed took of the mask of the masked man
the man was hardly breathing
The man was coughing up blood as he said
"You must deliver this small chestbox to—"
Greed was dumbfounded as the man died—he took the chest box
"What could this chestbox have in it to have them kill each other for it?,how can i deliver this box if i dont know where or who to deliver it to"
Greed suddenly thinks to himself that he should open the box,curiosity made him open the box as he opens the box a dark aura seeps in it—a bone ring with a dark gem appears before him
"how could they fight to death for a ring? is this even worth their lives"
Out of curiosity Greed wears the rings—suddenly the ring grows spikes , clamping and borrowing in his fingers flesh he screamed till his lungs were empty the pain was noticeable in his eyes
" What is this how could this grow spikes borrowing in to my flesh"
suddenly he feels dark aura was covering his whole body and entering his mouth and he hears a voice
"You will wield the power i possess i will be your only way to attain the impossible"
"(confused greed asks) who are you?
" I am Thanatos i bring Death—i offer you an opportunity,a deal give me a quarter of your lifespan and you will gain immeasurable power "
Greed was shocked to the ground he was shaking thinking to himself
" How can it be this opportunity to wield power to get the freedom i deserve to be able to be not under others i must sacrifice a quarter of my lifespan!!! "
Greed decides for a long time as the cold of the wind let's him remember the life he was living, it was a living hell, he understands that a quarter of his life is a big price to pay he decides thoroughly eventually reaching to a conclusion
"This life is garbage i cannot live like this i have to acquire this power in order to fend for myself, i agree give me your power"
Thanatos absorbs the lifespan of Greed creating a mark on his back a seal on his back in a form of a skull tattoo a sign of a contract that has been made
Thanatos whispers
" Your sacrifice shall grant you what you desire"
Dark Fog enters Greed's body making him shriek of pain receiving a skill that entered his mind (Undead Creation) as the pain subsides he grips his hand and spots a dead rat nearby
" ill test this power that cost me a quarter of my lifespan this should be well worth the price— Undead creation!"
The rat rots and loses it's flesh the bones grow larger and larger and it tripples it's size and shrieks
" this power not only let's me control them they also gain strength and enlarge when i create them—with this i will climb the ladder and be the strongest i will prove myself to those who made me suffer, They shall know the pain!!"
