Chapter 16
NIKOLAJ'S POV
Tray and I were floored when Mrs. Morona actually granted us a second chance. We'd practically written off the contract after my disastrous meeting with her granddaughter.
To ensure she didn't change her mind, I decided to catch a flight to New Zealand that very day. It was a grueling trip, but Tray had made it clear: secure that deal by any means necessary. Of course, I had my limits—if a signature required more than just business, I was prepared to walk. I've dealt with stubborn, persistent women before; I wasn't about to let someone like Sara back me into a corner.
I swung by the house to grab a few things but Jaime wasn't there. Only Katsha was around.
"Katsha," I called out. She turned with a small, polite smile.
"Good morning, Alpha Nikolaj."
"Where's Jaime?" I asked.
"He's out handling the arrangements for the Alpha sculpture. He should be back soon—would you like to wait for him?"
"I can't. I have to leave," I said shortly.
