Synopsis
One contract. One year. No feelings allowed. I, Emilia, signed it to save myself, not to fall for the man I was supposed to avoid. He’s cold, rich, untouchable… and somehow, Alexander is already getting under my skin. Married on paper, but the rules were clear: no love, no attachment, no breaking the contract. Easy to follow… except for the part where my heart refuses to listen. One look, one touch, one unexpected smile, and everything I promised myself begins to crumble. Rule number one: do not fall in love. Rule number two: …well, I think I already broke it. Can love survive a contract designed to keep it out… or will our hearts pay the price?

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1:The Signature That Changed Everything

I stared at the contract in front of me, my hands trembling despite my best effort to stay calm. One year. Twelve months. No emotions. No attachments. Absolutely no falling in love.

Easy to say… impossible to follow.

"Are you ready?" His voice was cold, distant, yet it made my heart stutter anyway. I looked up and saw him for the first time—tall, impeccably dressed, eyes that seemed to pierce right through me. The kind of man who didn't need anyone… except me, apparently.

I swallowed hard, gripping the pen. "I… I think so," I whispered.

The pen hovered for a heartbeat that felt like forever. Then, with a decisive click, I signed.

And just like that, my life changed.

One contract. One signature. And a man I was supposed to avoid now had my life in his hands.

Rule number one flashed in my mind: do not fall in love.

I had a feeling… I was going to break it on day one.

And then Alexander Sterling leaned closer, his voice low and almost dangerous "I hope you understand, this contract… doesn't cover what I plan to do with you."

My heart stopped. What had I just signed myself into?
