Chapter 106 - Vulture Capitalism

[The Omniverse - The Empyrean Heights]

The Empyrean Heights, the legendary sanctuary of the Elder Gods, was normally a realm of blinding golden clouds and harmonious choirs. Today, it was silent. The golden gates were chained shut, and a glowing red "Notice of Foreclosure" was stamped across the pearly arches.

The Elder God of Thunder sat on the steps, his divine armor pawned, his aura completely depleted. The government bailout had saved Victor's company, but it had left the victims of the crash with absolutely nothing.

A sleek, obsidian Pantheon Prime portal ripped open in the clouds.

Victor Thorne stepped out, holding a cup of black coffee. Seraphina walked beside him, her dark business attire a stark contrast to the divine architecture. Elara , the Growth Partner, trailed behind them, carrying a stack of thick legal binders.

"You," the Thunder God hissed, struggling to stand. "You came to gloat? We have nothing left for you to steal, Tycoon."

"I am not a thief. I am a Vulture Capitalist," Victor corrected him smoothly. "I specialize in acquiring deeply distressed assets at rock-bottom valuations. Your divine realm is bankrupt, heavily leveraged, and facing immediate seizure by the central banks."

Victor nodded to Seraphina, who handed the ruined God a glowing contract.

"I am offering a leveraged buyout," Victor stated, his Tycoon's Ledger humming. "The Pantheon Group will acquire the Empyrean Heights in its entirety. We will assume your outstanding cosmic debts, preventing you from being erased from existence. In exchange, I am buying your realm for exactly one Omni-Credit."

The Thunder God stared at the contract in absolute disbelief. "One credit?! This is the supreme heaven! It has existed for ten million years!"

"And its current cash flow is negative," Victor tapped his gold-nibbed pen against the Ledger. "I am doing you a favor. Sign the deed, or I will let the bank repossess it and evict you into the Shattered Void."

Broken, humiliated, and utterly devoid of leverage, the Elder God signed the deed.

"Excellent," Victor smiled a ruthless, predatory smile. He turned to Elara. "Elara, contact the zoning commission. We are rezoning the Empyrean Heights from 'Divine Sanctuary' to 'Premium Corporate Retreat'."

"What about the Gods?" Elara asked, watching the weeping deities.

"They come with the property," Victor adjusted his midnight-blue cuffs. "Issue them polo shirts and nametags. The former Gods of the Omniverse will serve as minimum-wage cabana boys and greeters for my executive shareholders. Let's get to work."
