[The Dragon Sanctuaries - The Golden Peak]
Ancient Dragon Aurelius rested comfortably on a mountain of glittering coins, puffing a ring of thick, sulfuric smoke into the sky. His massive magical terminal hummed before him.
"The human's currency is collapsing!" Aurelius roared with laughter, his voice shaking the cavern. "The token is down eighty percent! Soon, it will be worthless, and physical gold will rule the multiverse once again! Prepare to buy back the borrowed tokens to close out our short position!"
Suddenly, the red plunging line on Aurelius's terminal stopped.
It didn't just stop. It spiked upward. A massive, blindingly green candlestick shot straight off the top of the magical screen.
"What is happening?!" Aurelius bellowed, slamming his massive claw against the terminal. "The price is skyrocketing! Who is buying?!"
A sleek, obsidian Pantheon Prime portal ripped open in the center of the dragon's lair.
Victor Thorne stepped out, his leather shoes clicking against the dragon's hoarded gold. He was holding the glowing Tycoon's Ledger.
"I am buying," Victor said, his voice entirely devoid of fear as he stared down the colossal, fire-breathing beast.
"You!" Aurelius snarled, bearing teeth the size of greatswords. "You cannot save your currency! The market is panicked!"
"The market is illiquid, Aurelius," Victor adjusted his midnight-blue cuffs. "You borrowed fifty billion tokens and dumped them. So, I used my offshore capital to buy them all up. I now own one hundred percent of the circulating float of Pantheon Tokens."
Aurelius's golden eyes widened as the sheer terror of the financial trap dawned on him. "No..."
"Yes," Victor smiled a ruthless, calculating smile. "You borrowed those tokens from the Astral Bank. Your contract states you must return them by the closing bell. To return them, you must buy them back from the open market. But I am the only one holding them. And I am not selling."
The terminal in the dragon's lair flashed a violently bright, blinding red.
[ASTRAL BANK ALERT: MARGIN CALL INITIATED.] [Short Position is critically underwater. To cover your borrowed tokens, immediate liquidation of collateral is required.]
"A Margin Call," Victor stepped closer, his Tycoon's Aura completely suffocating the Ancient Dragon's fiery magic. "You have to buy my tokens at whatever price I set to cover your short position. And the price I set is exactly one mountain of physical gold."
"You arrogant insect!" Aurelius roared, opening his massive jaws to incinerate the CEO. "I will burn you to ash! I will never surrender my hoard!"
Before the dragon could breathe a single spark of fire, the Tycoon's Ledger flared. Heavy, glowing chains of absolute corporate law erupted from the terminal, wrapping around the Ancient Dragon's snout, wings, and tail, violently slamming the beast into his own cavern floor.
"You cannot attack your creditor during an active asset repossession," Victor stated coldly, checking his gold Rolex.
Through the portal behind Victor, Lord Sterling and a thousand heavily armed vampires jogged into the cavern, pushing massive, enchanted wheelbarrows.
"Alright, Repo Team, you know the drill!" Sterling shouted, his vampire fangs gleaming. "The Dragon just got margin-called! Shovel the gold! Strip the lair to the bedrock!"
Aurelius wept tears of pure, agonizing defeat as he lay pinned by financial law, forced to watch an army of corporate vampires legally shovel his ancient, six-thousand-year-old hoard into wheelbarrows to cover a bad stock trade.
