Chapter 36 - Episode 36 : The Second Sun

"The city that healed against every wound would now face an enemy determined to destroy it faster than it could remember itself."

The heavens screamed.

High above Aurion Citadel, the sphere of omission energy continued to grow.

It swallowed the stars.

Clouds unraveled into black strands.

Lightning bent inward instead of outward.

The crimson sphere eclipsed the moon itself.

Its shadow covered the entire valley.

Every soldier looked upward.

Every child stopped running.

Every commander understood.

If that weapon fell...

there would be no city left to heal.

The Heartbeat of Orinthal

Deep beneath the Citadel...

The Orinthal Restoration Chamber continued its eternal rhythm.

THOOM.

Bronze energy surged through thousands of hidden conduits beneath the city.

Walls knitted themselves together.

Shattered towers climbed toward the sky.

Bronze Titans, crippled moments before, rose once more as glowing fractures sealed across their armor.

The city breathed.

It refused to die.

AZRAK-9 Fires

The colossal machine extended both arms toward Aurion Citadel.

Thousands of omission cannons aligned simultaneously.

Its emotionless voice echoed like judgment.

"RESTORATION THRESHOLD IDENTIFIED."

"COMMENCE SATURATION BOMBARDMENT."

The valley vanished beneath fire.

Thousands of projectiles crossed the sky.

Missiles.

Rail spikes.

Plasma mortars.

Corruption bombs.

Every second...

more followed.

The air itself disappeared beneath explosions.

The Walls Shatter

BOOOOOOOOOM!!

The western wall exploded.

Stone blocks the size of houses were thrown hundreds of meters.

Entire battlements disappeared into clouds of dust.

A Bronze Titan was hurled through three buildings before crashing into the marketplace.

The eastern towers collapsed like falling mountains.

Bridges snapped.

The Founder Hall shook violently.

Ancient statues toppled.

The Citadel trembled from foundation to summit.

Commander Cassian barely remained standing.

"Brace yourselves!"

Another explosion.

The southern gate disappeared beneath a wall of crimson fire.

Engineers working beneath the gate vanished beneath falling stone as their emergency relays continued transmitting the Restoration Pulse until the very last second.

The City Refuses to Fall

Three seconds later—

THOOM!

A wave of bronze light erupted beneath the streets.

Broken foundations glowed.

Collapsed buildings reversed their destruction.

Stone flew upward.

Bricks reassembled.

Steel beams bent back into place.

The western wall rose again.

The southern gate sealed itself.

The Bronze Titan pulled from the ruins as molten bronze restored its shattered armor.

Citizens stared in disbelief.

The city had healed again.

A War of Attrition

AZRAK-9 calculated.

Another barrage.

Another pulse.

Another barrage.

Another pulse.

Again.

Again.

Again.

Every cycle became more violent.

Every reconstruction became slower.

The Restoration Chamber began glowing brighter than ever before.

Master Engineer Rowan Kael watched the energy readings.

"No..."

"It's overworking itself."

Aurion looked at the display.

"The Chamber is healing the city..."

"...but every pulse consumes another reserve."

Commander Seris whispered,

"Eventually..."

"...it will run dry."

Reinforcements Enter the Inferno

A thunderous horn rolled across the northern mountains.

The warriors of Nordfrost crashed into the omission army.

Their wolf-hide banners whipped through the smoke.

Frost-forged axes collided against corrupted steel with earth-shaking force.

Shield walls locked together.

Every step forward was won through sheer determination.

When one warrior fell...

another stepped into the gap.

No retreat.

No surrender.

Only relentless advance.

From the southern deserts...

The Warriors of Sunscorched Reveland descended like a blazing storm.

Golden armor reflected the burning battlefield.

Flame riders swept around enemy siege engines.

Their spear formations drove directly into the Steel Crawlers.

Explosions threw warriors and machines alike into the air.

Still they pressed forward.

Among shattered cliffs...

The Hunters of the Serpent Wastes hunted.

One arrow disabled an artillery cannon.

Another pierced a command drone.

Entire omission formations lost coordination as invisible hunters struck from impossible angles.

The battlefield itself became their weapon.

Then...

the mist moved.

The Veilkeeper Scouts emerged from folds in reality.

Every appearance ended with another corrupted commander falling.

Every disappearance left confusion behind.

Entire enemy formations wandered blindly after losing their leaders.

Captain Vaelis smiled beneath her hood.

"The Veil never fights fair."

The Ironhide Stand

From Caldera Fields came the oldest warriors still living.

The original Ironhide Clan.

Their armor bore scars from the Great War.

Their hammers had shattered machines before Aurion Citadel even existed.

Elder Garrik Ironhide planted his massive hammer into the earth.

"IRONHIDE!"

Thousands answered.

"STAND!"

The old warriors formed an immovable wall before the eastern breach.

Steel Crawlers smashed against their shields.

Null Sentinels hammered relentlessly.

The Ironhide line bent.

It never broke.

Every swing of their hammers echoed like thunder through the valley.

The Iron Legion Unleashed

Steam erupted across the western ridge.

Massive siege walkers climbed over the hills.

The Iron Legion had arrived.

Walking fortresses.

Rail cannons.

Titan mortars.

Shield generators.

Their commander raised a bronze banner.

"ALL BATTERIES!"

"FIRE!"

The horizon disappeared beneath artillery flashes.

House-sized shells screamed overhead.

Enemy siege towers erupted into pillars of fire.

Rail cannon slugs tore through entire columns of corrupted constructs.

The battlefield became a sea of smoke, molten steel, and shattered machines.

The Balance Breaker

Amid the thunder...

one melody remained.

Bardin.

The lone bard of the Shrouden Swamp sat upon broken stone as explosions shook the earth around him.

He never stopped playing.

Ancient notes drifted across the battlefield.

One soldier stood.

Then another.

Then hundreds.

The exhausted found strength they thought they had lost.

Fear gave way to resolve.

Even the wounded rose to defend another wall.

The Bronze Titans synchronized their advance with the rhythm.

The Restoration Pulse echoed alongside Bardin's melody.

THOOM...

THOOM...

The entire city seemed to breathe with the song.

Marshal Helios smiled despite the destruction.

"So the legends were true..."

"The Balance Breaker."

Beneath the Citadel

Far below...

Dorion fought within his Trial of Strength.

Every victory demanded another sacrifice.

Every decision weighed lives against lives.

Lirion wandered endless halls of forbidden knowledge, resisting the temptation to seize power that could end the war in an instant but doom the future.

Sorion stood before the illusion of a peaceful family, each heartbeat urging him to abandon the burden of memory.

The First Defender watched silently.

"The city fights for them."

"They must prove worthy to fight for the city."

The Catastrophic Strike

AZRAK-9 ceased firing.

Its cannons folded inward.

Every remaining omission engine redirected power into the crimson sphere above its head.

The battlefield became unnaturally silent.

Commander Cassian looked upward.

"No..."

Master Rowan's instruments screamed.

"Energy levels beyond calculation!"

The crimson sphere collapsed inward—

then fired.

A single beam.

Thicker than the Founder Hall.

It struck Aurion Citadel from sky to foundation.

The impact drowned out every sound.

The western half of the city disappeared behind blinding light.

Walls vaporized.

Towers crumbled.

The Grand Forge collapsed.

Bronze Titans vanished within the explosion.

The shockwave flattened forests for miles.

Even the mountains cracked.

Silence.

Smoke covered everything.

Nothing moved.

Then...

Deep beneath the ruins...

one heartbeat echoed.

THOOM.

A single bronze pulse surged upward.

Stone lifted from the ashes.

Walls rose again.

Collapsed streets rebuilt themselves.

Bronze Titans emerged from the dust, battered but standing.

The people of Aurion Citadel looked upon their reborn city—

and raised a deafening roar that shook the valley.

For the first time...

AZRAK-9 paused.

Its calculations no longer predicted certain victory.

Human determination had become a variable it could not compute.

Final Scene

Inside Chamber Zero, the First Defender slowly opened its hand.

The bronze emblems above the three brothers began to shine brighter.

The guardian spoke with quiet certainty.

"The city has purchased you more time..."

"...do not waste their sacrifice."

Outside, Bardin's song continued to rise above the smoke, while across the battlefield the united armies of Nordfrost, Sunscorched Reveland, the Serpent Wastes, the Veilkeepers, the Ironhide Clan, and the Iron Legion held the line against impossible odds.

But far beyond the mountains...

the clouds parted.

More crimson lights appeared on the horizon.

Not one.

Not ten.

Hundreds.

The true Omnission Host.
