Chapter 29 - Squad

It really happened.

The four-year system meant that all students from the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades would graduate and begin accepting missions from the village to support the war.

Subsequently, Yoshino Masada directly announced the news of early graduation to everyone.

This caused a huge commotion, and similar things were happening in the other fourth-grade classes.

Everyone in this grade graduated early.

"After graduation, you must not slack off..."

Yoshino Masada was like an old father marrying off his daughter, rambling on and earnestly advising them.

He was afraid that in two years, all of his students would be dead.

Unfortunately, few of the excited students were in the mood to listen to him anymore.

Most of them were immersed in the huge surprise of early graduation.

"From now on, I'm also a Konoha Genin!"

Many people were cheering.

"Cough, cough, these guys are too naive. If we go to the battlefield at this level, many people will probably die, right?"

Hayate Gekko coughed twice, looking so sickly that it seemed he could kick the bucket at any moment.

"Ah, don't be so pessimistic. Out of everyone in this classroom, at least a few will survive... You agree, right, Hayate?"

Bai Lu remained lazy.

If Konoha's higher-ups had any brains, they wouldn't kill the goose that lays the golden eggs. The new squad system of one veteran leading three rookies was still quite reliable.

Soon, Yoshino Masada began to announce the names of the three-person squads.

"Morino Ibiki, Uenaka Yuto, Yamashiro Aoba."

"Hayate Gekko, Shiranui Genma, Ebisu."

"Uchiha Ichie, Shiranui Bai Lu , your squad is incomplete. Other Genin will be added to your team later."

"Because most Jonin are fighting on the front lines and are in short supply, some teams will temporarily not have a squad leader Jonin. You can directly accept missions from the village and contribute to the village."

Yoshino Masada announced the final results.

This was the outcome based on each student's personality, specialties, and overall grades.

Those with talent naturally had a squad leader Jonin to guide these Konoha sprouts, helping them quickly grow into robust leeks.

Those without potential or backing... naturally directly accepted missions from the village. As for how many would survive, that was up to fate.

The only exception was the group of Ichie and Bai Lu, pairing two excellent students together and needing to add a Genin from outside the academy... This also happened in the next class, where Obito and Rin formed a team and also needed to recruit a teammate from outside, but they didn't have a squad leader Jonin.

"Seriously, I hope no strange elements get mixed into my squad, and the squad leader Jonin better be reliable."

Ichie looked at Bai Lu with some hesitation.

Yesterday, the Elder of the clan only told her that they would find a way for Bai Lu to be on her team, but didn't mention adding another teammate from outside.

If she had a choice, she would rather have Hayate Gekko join her squad. Strength was secondary; the main thing was familiarity.

"I generally know who the third squad member is. If that's the case, it seems the village is quite concerned about us."

Bai Lu said with a smile.

"Really, Mr. Bai Lu even knows this, how impressive."
