Nelly pov
Here it was the beginning of a chilly November yet I can barely get past the loss of my late husband Jacob, missing him every day and though it had been 3 years since the accident while on a job site, it still felt like it had only happened yesterday, now I'm a 37 year old widow of two beautiful kids, Danny, my eldest son and lily my youngest daughter. It was a lot to take in.
But soon after I get settled in a new place for me and my children, it wasn't big but somewhat just right for us to strive to get ahead on a fresh restart. Then, I put in applications for a job, figured 6 was bout decent to start with, then within a week, one of the places that I had applied for gave me a call to come in early for an interview.
****The next morning****
Beep, beep, beep, my alarm goes off at 6:30am which was the usual time I would have the children ready and off to school by 7-7:15am, my interview was at 8:15am so that gave me plenty of time to take a quick shower, organize my wardrobe and hair since the pizza plex was only a good short 10 minutes away from my new apartment, 5 minutes if taking my Harley. I arrived at the pizza plex, the scenery bright with neon lights, loud music and sounds coming from the games in the arcade rooms all around, happy faces from parents and their children to be seen everywhere. As I was heading towards the main office, I was stopped by a young woman with blonde hair and green eyes. " Hey, you're the new girl, right "? she asked.
"Why yes, I am ". I responded. "Name's Vanessa, I am the current security guard". she introduced herself. "And I'm Nelly, nice to meet you ". I replied in turn. " So, shall we embark on a tour before we get you set on schedule"? She asked with a small smile. " Yes, please " I squeaked in excitement. " Then let's get started "! She smiled in reply. " Plus, we could introduce you to the band, have you met them yet "? She asked. "No, but I'd love to though" I replied. Little did I know that somewhere from afar, a glowing set of hot pink eyes was watching me.
