Chapter 138: Three Martial Souls
Huo Yuhao found himself sinking into the sensation of holding Wang Dong. That exquisite softness, the faint fragrance, the strange and wondrous sense of perfect fit—it was all far too sublime, surpassing even the warmth he remembered from his mother's embraces.
Caught off guard by the sudden increase in pressure, Wang Dong let out an involuntary, soft sound. Reflexively, he almost pushed away, but ultimately held back. His hands, a little at a loss, lightly gripped the fabric of Huo Yuhao's clothes at his sides. His lips pressed tightly together, and his expression was one that seemed as if he were enduring some monumental grievance in silence.
Huo Yuhao slowly gathered his soul power while seriously concentrating on perceiving the changes in Wang Dong's aura. With the embrace now tighter, that faint thread of fragrance seemed to grow a little richer. Though Wang Dong's body still remained somewhat stiff, the yielding softness became all the more vivid.
Gradually, Huo Yuhao caught the fluctuations of the aura flowing within Wang Dong's body. At first, it was a warm and pristine light-attribute aura, which gently stimulated his own soul power in a way that made its circulation smoother and more comfortable.
Following closely, from within this layer of light-attribute aura, an even richer, vibrant life-attribute aura slowly seeped through. Then, a third aura emerged...
Wang Dong's aura had, in the span of a few short moments, transformed three times in succession. And each change caused that feeling of closeness and resonance in Huo Yuhao's heart to multiply exponentially.
"This... this is..." Huo Yuhao's eyes flew open in astonishment.
Wang Dong was equally stunned. After being tightly embraced by Huo Yuhao, a faint, pale-golden halo of luminous energy had first silently materialized around his entire body. Then, this golden hue gradually transformed into a deeper and more mysteriously profound blue-gold, before finally settling into a restrained yet immensely powerful dark-golden light.
The aura transformed three times; the radiance transformed three times as well. This was the external manifestation of the strange fluctuations that Huo Yuhao had been perceiving.
Even as he remained immersed in sensing the wondrous changes in Wang Dong's aura, Huo Yuhao found himself unconsciously observing his companion who was now so unbearably close. Wang Dong also lifted his eyes, his clear gaze meeting Huo Yuhao's line of sight.
Both of them saw the same incredulous shock reflected in the other's eyes. They had simultaneously and unmistakably discovered that the other's aura, just like their own, contained three entirely distinct yet perfectly coexisting fundamental powers.
This meant... the other party very likely also possessed three martial souls? And what's more, the three auras between them were like a lock and its matching key—fitting together with flawless precision, resonating in a profoundly mysterious harmony.
Wang Dong's hands, which had originally only been lightly gripping the fabric of Huo Yuhao's lapels, now—as if drawn by some invisible force—slowly lifted and wrapped around Huo Yuhao's waist and back in return. In this very moment, the distracting thoughts in both their hearts gradually dissipated, and they became wholly immersed in the indescribably exquisite sensation brought by the merging of their auras.
Those three distinct auras cycled, circulated, and shifted continuously between them. Their own soul powers, as if stirred by this intermingling flow of aura, began to circulate spontaneously, slowly at first, then faster and faster as time passed. The frequency at which the three auras alternated and transformed accelerated in kind.
Faint currents of air in differing hues shimmered in and out of visibility around the two of them. The colors were all very pale, so much so that only each other could clearly perceive every minute change in the other's aura.
They did not yet fully comprehend what this state signified, but as if by some unspoken, tacit understanding, they both chose silence. They simply held each other tighter, quietly savoring, feeling out this strange connection that was growing ever more blissful and intoxicating by the moment.
Gradually, both Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong began to experience a curious illusion—as if the other's body was gradually melding into their own. Their auras, their soul powers, even their very spirits, had begun to undergo a kind of profound, deep-level fusion. The sensation was so wondrous it was nearly impossible to put into words; it was as if even their souls were becoming lighter, sublimating toward some higher state of being.
Right at this moment, within Huo Yuhao's spiritual sea, the voice of the Tianmeng Ice Silkworm rang out, laden with sheer disbelief: "Luck this good? No way... can you actually stumble upon something like this?"
Huo Yuhao diverted a thread of consciousness and asked inwardly, "Brother Tianmeng, what's wrong? Stumble upon what?"
Tianmeng's voice was filled with emotion and astonishment: "I never imagined that you could actually find, in this world, someone whose aura is so perfectly compatible with yours. The probability of this... is so low it should be practically impossible! And yet you've managed exactly that. Yuhao, for you, this is a once-in-a-lifetime, supreme opportunity! You absolutely must seize it. This might very well make the path ahead of you infinitely bright!"
Huo Yuhao grew even more confused: "Brother Tianmeng, what exactly is going on between Wang Dong and me right now? What does 'perfect aura compatibility' mean? Could this be the reason Sister Furina specifically told me to hug Wang Dong?"
The Tianmeng Ice Silkworm answered with certainty: "Unless I miss my guess—that's exactly it. To put it simply, the relationship between the two of you right now is akin to what you humans conceive of as yin and yang. Each of you possesses fundamental auras that are similar yet opposites. One side leans toward the more yang, vigorous aspect; the other toward the yin, yielding aspect. Once joined together, you form a complete, harmonized union of yin and yang, which is bound to unleash a power far exceeding that of each individual."
"In the understanding of you soul masters, this kind of situation is called martial soul fusion. In other words, between you and that little fellow you're holding, your martial souls share a perfect degree of compatibility. That said, even among martial soul fusions, there are distinctions in the level of compatibility. Generally, compatibility needs to exceed fifty percent for fusion to even be possible."
"But you two... are at one hundred percent! What shocks me even more is that between the two of you, it's not a fusion of just a single martial soul, but a simultaneous resonance and fusion of the fundamental auras of three martial souls! This is beyond what can be described as a miracle—it's simply... monstrous!"
Huo Yuhao was utterly dumbfounded: "What? Wang Dong also has three martial souls? Is... is that even possible? My own three martial souls came about thanks to the combined efforts of you, Brother Tianmeng, the Ice Emperor, and Teacher Electrolux's powers working together to shape them."
"How could Wang Dong also possibly have three martial souls? Sister Furina's Salon Solitaire can summon three members, but that's a single, unique, complete martial soul. Twin martial souls are already exceedingly rare—and now three martial souls... isn't this a bit too exaggerated?"
"Ah, well, about that..." Even the Tianmeng Ice Silkworm, who prided itself on being vastly knowledgeable, was, for a moment, stumped by the question and sank into deep contemplation.
