Chapter 56 - Interview with the author

Interviewer: "The ending of this book was so unpredictable and emotional."

Author: "The next book will be even more emotional. So I ask everyone to prepare for real emotional swings and big tears at the end of the fifth book. When I wrote it, I cried; when I edited it, I cried—so I think you will cry too."

Interviewer: "Yes, we're already crying just because Mary was kidnapped by Ivan, and now Katrin is with him too. Is this going to last long?"

Author: "I would love to tell everything, but I don't want to spoil the plot."

Interviewer: "Then at least tell us what you can."

Author: "Maxim and Katrin have a lot to go through before they reach the end of the book. But I can say one thing: it ends with deaths. Whose deaths—you'll find out when you read it."

Interviewer: "How many people will die in the next book?"

Author: "I'm trying to confuse you on purpose, but things won't happen the way you imagine, and the deaths will be unusual. Three of them you know, and one you don't. But it won't happen all at once. Despite the deaths, I think you'll be satisfied with the book—it will become one of your favorites."

Interviewer: "Then let's talk about Elena Dmitrievna. Has she accepted Katrin? They seem to have a good relationship."

Author: "It seems she has, but for now, she's only quiet in this book. In the next book, she accepts Katrin. Katrin's action—choosing not to argue over Mary—changes the woman's worldview. Now, day by day, she accepts Katrin more and more in her heart. I adore their relationship when they are already like mother and daughter."

Interviewer: "Why do you think things didn't work out from the beginning? Who was at fault?"

Author: "Elena saw Katrin as a threat to her son and didn't accept her. Katrin was ready to accept Elena at any moment, and eventually, she does. There was some resentment because of the past, but I'm glad they reconciled and became almost a family."

Interviewer: "What about Alice? Oh, that little troublemaker really stressed Katrin out."

Author: "I want to ask readers not to hate Alice. She's a very good girl and doesn't intend to take Maxim from Katrin, even though she liked him for a long time. In the end, they become friends. I specifically added chapters from her perspective to show that Alice just wanted to protect Maxim, not out of jealousy."

Interviewer: "But I guess Alice wouldn't mind being with Maxim, right?"

Author: "Who wouldn't? Personally, when I wrote the book, I was in love with Maxim for more than two months, even though he's just a character I created. Of course, I adore Katrin, but Maxim is my ideal man."

Interviewer: "Even considering his past behavior?"

Author: "He became that way because of Katrin leaving and the pain he experienced. Maxim is a good guy, and you saw it in the book again. We all have a dark side, but it doesn't make us bad. The main thing is he realized his mistakes, apologized, and never behaves that way again."

Interviewer: "I'm in love with him too… but the one from the first two books. (laughs) So let's see how Maxim acts in this complicated situation."

Author: "I wish you an enjoyable reading! I think you'll be thrilled with the book and with Maxim and Katrin."
