Chapter 5 - UNDER MOON AND MYSTERY

CHAPTER 4.

POV: Lucien Draegor

"I was thinking of taking a walk outside," Lucien said.

"Okay, my King," Kieran replied.

Lucien walked through the woods of the underworld. It was very dark. Soon he arrived at his mother's grave.

He did not feel anything at that moment—neither love nor hate. He only felt numb.

*Is this what my fate and destiny have become? A man with no love.*

He was deeply lost in his thoughts.

"Oh, Lun, my love. How was your night and day?" Lilith asked, blushing.

"How did you get here?" Lucien asked.

"Have you forgotten? I am the Queen of Shadows."

"Well, forget about that. I came to ask you to be my partner at the ball dance," Lilith said.

Lucien looked at her quietly.

To be honest, Lilith was a very beautiful woman. Her bright brown eyes and curly black hair made her almost perfect to be his queen.

But he felt nothing.

*My ancient pact is not connected to her,* Lucien thought.

"Okay, Lilith. I will go with you," Lucien said.

"Yay! Let me get my ball gown ready then. The ball is tomorrow, my love," Lilith said before giving him a quick peck.

"Yes, I know," Lucien replied, slightly annoyed.

After Lilith left, Lucien wiped his face as if her kiss was contagious.

POV: Aldric Fenmore

"No! Not my wife, please! She is all I have!" Aldric cried.

"Aww, little Aldric is worried about his dear wife," a man said. The cross around his neck had words written on it: *I work for the devil.*

"Kill her."

Aldric's wife screamed as they slit her throat.

"You can't mess with us and get away with it," the man said.

"Tie him up and throw him into the deepest river," the man ordered his men.

In the middle of the night, they threw him into the ocean.

Aldric was a knight serving Seraphina's father. He fought demons for the kingdom.

Perhaps he had messed with the wrong person.

Aldric later woke up in an unfamiliar place.

"Where am I?" Aldric asked.

"I'm Lyra Fenwick. I found your body in the ocean while I was casting spells," she said.

"I don't remember anything," Aldric replied.

"That is because I wiped your memory," Lyra said.

"Why would you do that? Who am I? How did I get here?" Aldric asked quickly.

"One question at a time, dear," Lyra replied.

"From what I gathered, your name is Aldric Fenmore. You almost have the same surname as me," Lyra said, trying to ease the tension.

"Why do you always say 'well' in every sentence?" Aldric asked.

"Well... sorry. I did it again," Lyra said awkwardly. "But I found you in the ocean. And by the way, you were already dead."

"So how did I come back to life?" Aldric asked.

"I cast a spell on you. It was very difficult. I wasn't supposed to cast that spell, but I think my grandmother did most of the work," Lyra explained.

"And you were in a coma for three months."

"Three months?" Aldric shouted.

"Yes, but take it easy. We will slowly figure out who you are. I wiped your memory because your emotions were too strong. It was the only way to bring you back," Lyra said.

"Where is your grandmother?" Aldric asked.

"She is dead. I consulted her spirit," Lyra replied.

"That is why you are still alive. So you should thank my grandmother," Lyra said.

Aldric stared at her quietly.

Lyra was beautiful. Her long orange hair, long lashes, and deep onyx eyes were mesmerizing.

"What are you looking at?" Lyra asked, blushing.

"It's nighttime now. You should sleep," Lyra said, turning off the lights.

POV: Ezra Solvain

"Ezra, I think you should put your phone down and sleep. It's nighttime," Ezra's mum said.

"I wasn't using my phone. I was staring at the moon."

Since childhood, Ezra had always been obsessed with monsters.

He had always wondered how it felt to have supernatural powers.

*Maybe I should buy some spell books from eBay,* he thought.

*Is the devil real? Can the devil fall in love?*

His mind was full of questions.

"Ezra! Why is your light still on? Go to bed!" his mum shouted.

"Fine," Ezra muttered angrily before switching off the light.

POV: Seraphina Vale

"Where is Seraphina?" Evelyn asked.

"She is in the garden," one of the maids replied.

"By this time she should be sleeping. My curious bestie," Evelyn sighed before heading to bed.

Seraphina sat alone in the garden.

*Sigh.*

"I'm so tired of everything. Oh my Lord, help me," Seraphina whispered.

"I have lost so many people because of one man. I don't even want to see the devil. Please, Lord."

"Seraphina, it is time for you to rest," her father said.

"Always remember, no matter what happens, you will always be my princess."

"I love you, Dad," Sera replied softly.

"Now go to sleep. Tomorrow we prepare for the ball."
