Max's hand shot out and caught her wrist, locking it in an iron grip.
"What's your plan here?" He shot her a hard, suspicious glare. If he had guessed right, she was trying to seduce him. But why? That part made zero sense. It had come out of the blue.
"As I said, I only came to serve my—"
Max tightened his grip even more. Agnia let out a sharp growl of pain.
"Do you think I'm dumb?" he snarled. "You're here to kill me, aren't you? Get my guard down so you can slit my throat open." He pressed her hard, his fingers wrapping around her throat in one swift motion and squeezing tight.
Agnia struggled to catch her breath, eyes widening.
"No… I promise… I just… want you—"
His hand only tightened around her throat, making her gasp sharply. Her eyes watered instantly from the pressure, lashes fluttering as she fought for air.
Max sneered and shoved her back with a rough push.
