They came all at once.
Five goblins rushed through the doorway, blades raised, eyes locked onto their targets.
No hesitation.
No fear.
Only hunger.
"LEFT!"
Reynard shouted instinctively.
Kai moved.
A goblin lunged from the side—
Its blade aimed straight for his ribs.
Kai stepped inside the attack.
Too close.
Too fast.
The blade missed.
His hand shot out, grabbing the goblin's arm—
Twist.
Break.
CRACK.
The creature screamed—
But Kai didn't stop.
He slammed his elbow down on its neck.
The body dropped.
Behind him—
Reynard grabbed a desk and shoved it forward, knocking two goblins off balance.
"COME ON!" he shouted, adrenaline kicking in. "LET'S GO!"
One goblin recovered quickly and leaped at him—
Reynard ducked low—
Swept its legs—
And drove his fist into its jaw with a sharp, controlled strike.
The goblin staggered.
Reynard grabbed its arm—
Twisted—
Then ripped the weapon from its grip.
A crude dagger.
Rusty.
But deadly.
"…Now we're talking," he muttered.
The goblin lunged again—
Reynard stepped forward—
And stabbed.
The blade sank into its chest.
The creature froze—
Then collapsed.
"KAII—!"
Kai turned just in time—
Another goblin rushed him from behind.
Too close.
No time to dodge.
Kai reacted on instinct.
His body moved before he could think.
He grabbed the fallen goblin's weapon—
Turned—
And slashed.
A clean line.
The goblin stopped mid-step.
Then fell.
Silence hit again.
But only for a second.
More footsteps.
From the hallway.
From outside.
From everywhere.
"…There's too many," Reynard said, breathing heavier now.
Kai scanned the room quickly.
Broken desks.
Chairs.
Blood.
Weapons.
"…Then we don't stay here," he said.
Reynard looked at him. "You got a plan?"
Kai nodded slightly.
"…We move before they surround us."
Another goblin appeared at the door.
Then another.
No time.
"GO!" Reynard shouted.
They moved together.
Kai led.
Reynard covered.
They burst through the classroom door—
And stepped into hell.
The hallway was chaos.
Students running.
Screaming.
Bleeding.
Bodies on the floor.
Some moving.
Some not.
And everywhere—
Goblins.
Orcs.
Ant monsters.
Fighting.
Killing.
Feeding.
Reynard froze for half a second.
"…What the hell…"
Kai didn't stop.
"…Don't look," he said.
A goblin rushed them—
Kai ducked—
Slashed its leg—
Then finished it in one motion.
Reynard followed up, blocking another attack and countering with a stab.
They moved like a system.
No wasted motion.
No hesitation.
Like they'd done this before.
"…Kai," Reynard said between breaths,
"…why does this feel… natural?"
Kai didn't answer.
Because he felt it too.
Every movement.
Every reaction.
Perfect.
Too perfect.
Like his body remembered something…
That his mind didn't.
A loud roar shook the hallway.
Both of them froze.
Slowly—
They turned.
At the far end—
An orc stood there.
Bigger than the others.
Taller.
Heavier.
Its eyes locked onto them.
And it smiled.
"…That one's different," Reynard muttered.
Kai tightened his grip on the blade.
"…Yeah."
The orc took a step forward.
The ground trembled slightly.
Another step.
Closer.
Closer.
Reynard exhaled slowly.
"…So… what's the plan this time?"
Kai's eyes sharpened.
"…We take it down."
The orc roared—
And charged.
