"I hoped so too." I smiled, rearranging my hair that I had jumbled with my hands. "And thank you for the encouragement–"

"No, really." She got serious. "As long as you had sight before, your subconscious could still conjure images in colours and shapes. Also, if it was a message from the goddess then you could even fly if she wanted you to."

So she wasn't just being hopeful? She truly believed? Had she heard of scenarios where a physically blind person could see at any other point even without their physical eyes?

"You really think so?"

"Yes. Your eyes were hurt, not your imagination or consciousness. Even your wolf could see right. Couldn't it?"

My heart squeezed inside my chest. It felt like Kaden wanted to pounce out of my body or likely kill me? But it hurt so much, yet not compared to the excitement brimming in my bones. "Should I try it now? I never did."

"You never shifted?" She held my face. "Why not?"

I held her hands on my face. "I was scared."
