Chapter 37 - Chapter 37: The Breath of Steel and Code

The battlefield of Alubarna was a chaotic symphony of clashing blades and desperate screams, but for Roronoa Zoro, the world had gone silent. He stood before Daz Bonez, the man known as Mr. 1, whose body was no longer just a weapon of steel—it was a shimmering fortress of shifting green algorithms.

"Your swords are relics of a dead era, Roronoa," Mr. 1's voice vibrated with a metallic, synthesized edge. He crossed his arms, and his chest plates slid open like mechanical shutters, revealing a core of glowing obsidian code. "The Editor has encrypted my existence. You are trying to cut a concept that the world no longer recognizes as physical."

Zoro spat a glob of blood into the sand, his eyes narrowing. His grip on Wado Ichimonji was so tight his forearms throbbed. "Physical or not," Zoro growled, the blue ink Amine had drawn onto his blade humming with a low, oceanic frequency. "If it stands in my way, it gets cut."

"Zoro, wait!" Amine shouted from behind a crumbling pillar. His vision was swimming in violet sparks. Every breath felt like inhaling ground glass. He held the golden stylus with both hands, focusing every ounce of his remaining 'Narrative Stamina'. "His defense isn't a shield! It's a Conditional Statement! If [Zoro Attacks] -> Then [Reflect Damage]. You'll kill yourself before you even scratch him!"

"Then change the conditions, Scholar!" Zoro roared, lunging forward.

Amine didn't hesitate. He slammed the stylus onto the air itself. [Ability Activated: Real-Time Debugging.] A transparent grid materialized over Mr. 1. Amine's eyes turned a deep, glowing purple as he saw the world in its rawest form: strings of falling green characters. He saw the 'Loop' that governed Daz Bonez's invincibility.

"I can't delete his armor... but I can create a 'Glitch' in his timing!" Amine's nose began to bleed, the red drops falling onto the invisible grid. He frantically drew a 'Slow-Motion Filter' around Zoro's right arm.

Zoro felt the air grow thick, like he was moving through deep water. Suddenly, the world around him shifted. He could hear the 'breath' of the city—the vibration of the stones, the pulse of the desert sand, and the rhythmic clicking of Mr. 1's internal code.

"I see it," Zoro whispered. "The point where the steel ends and the soul begins."

He swung. The blue-glowing blade didn't hit the green firewall; it slid between the lines of code. For a split second, the green light flickered to a dull gray.

"Lion's Song: Redrawn!"

A flash of blue light blinded everyone in the plaza. When the dust settled, Mr. 1 stood perfectly still. Then, a massive 'Error' sound echoed through the air. A deep, jagged line appeared across his chest, leaking not just blood, but bright white pixels.

"Impossible..." Mr. 1 whispered as his digital armor shattered like glass. "The... the encryption... was perfect..."

"Nothing is perfect," Zoro said, sheathing his sword with a sharp click. "Especially a story that tries to tell me what I can't do."
