"Today is your last day, old man!" Philip roared.
With blinding speed, Philip lunged forward, his grip closing tightly around Terminator's throat. But the veteran commander didn't flinch.
Driving a heavy tactical boot straight into Philip's chest, Terminator used the momentum to hurl the mad scientist across the chamber.
Philip flipped mid-air and caught himself against the reinforced wall, ricocheting back like a missile. Terminator was already moving.
He thrust his blade forward in a lethal lunging strike, but Philip twisted sideways at the last microsecond. Philip countered with a brutal horizontal slash of his high-frequency sword—Terminator ducked just in time, a few strands of his graying hair sheared away by the razor-thin vacuum blade.
Impossible, Terminator calculated internally, his eyes narrowing. He was never this fast. Something's changed.
Philip unleashed a relentless flurry of sword strikes, his blade becoming a silver blur in the dim light.
Terminator parried repeatedly, the metallic clashing ringing through the room like thunderous hammer strikes, but the raw kinetic force behind Philip's blows was steadily driving the legendary commander back.
A broad, manic grin spread across Philip's face. "What's the matter, Terminator?! Can't keep up?!"
Terminator drew a sleek, short-bladed combat dagger with his left hand. Seeing the secondary weapon, Philip leapt backward into a defensive posture. "A second blade?! Charming!"
Without a word, Terminator closed the distance instantly.
He swung both weapons in a terrifying display of high-speed dual-wielding, unleashing a storm of slashes at the speed of light.
The dense air in the room tore apart; nothing within a ten-meter radius escaped the onslaught as console panels, concrete pillars, and steel framing were sliced into dozens of falling pieces.
Yet, as the dust settled, Philip was standing just beyond the kill zone, entirely unscathed.
"Old man, you can't defeat me with rusty tricks," Philip sneered, adjusting his stance. "Your era is over."
Terminator didn't bother responding. Instead, he moved.
His velocity defied human perception.
Before Philip's optic implants could even register the shift, Terminator was already standing behind him, sheathing his primary sword with a metallic click.
A massive diagonal laceration tore open across Philip's entire torso. Blood spray painted the shattered tiles, and Philip collapsed hard onto his knees.
Terminator glanced down at his blade, noticing a viscous, brownish fluid clinging to the steel alongside blood. He turned his head just in time to see Philip rising back to his feet with an unsettling, bone-chilling chuckle.
Philip's tactical shirt had been shredded open, revealing a dense array of sub-dermal cybernetic plating and metallic ribbing woven directly into his flesh.
"What have you done to yourself, Philip?" Terminator asked, his voice low and icy.
"You can call it, little modification.!" Philip grinned maniacally, thrusting his high-frequency blade straight toward Terminator's heart.
Terminator side-stepped the thrust and drove a brutal knee straight into Philip's solar plexus, but instantly disengaged, leaping backward to clear the space—just as Philip silently whipped out a concealed venom-coated dagger where Terminator's chest had been a fraction of a second prior.
Terminator re-adjusted his stance, bringing his twin blades up into a classic DWO kill-frame. "Bring it on, boy."
Philip barked with laughter and charged. As the scientist's long blade whistled toward Terminator's face, the commander leaned his head back, letting the edge graze his cheek, and cracked a vicious right hook squarely into Philip's jaw.
Philip absorbed the blow, driving a counter-punch straight into Terminator's stomach.
Terminator raised his knee to block the impact, reversed his grip on his dagger, and drove the blade deep into the forearm Philip had used to strike him.
Philip gritted his teeth through the agony, swinging his primary sword in a frantic arc to force Terminator off.
Leaping back to gain distance, Philip reached into his tactical vest, pulled out a small glass vial filled with a glowing crimson compound, and downed it in a single gulp. His veins instantly bulged against his skin, turning a deep, unnatural purple.
Terminator remained completely calm, lowering his center of gravity.
Philip exploded forward with speed twice as fast as before. He slammed his sword down in a violent vertical cleave. Terminator crossed his blades to block the strike—but the sheer, super-human kinetic momentum broke through his defense.
The impact hurled Terminator backward through thirty-nine concrete retaining walls, blowing out the rear side of the manor entirely. The commander crashed heavily into the freezing snow outside.
Philip stepped through the gaping hole in the wall, his boots crunching on the ice.
Terminator slowly sat up, wiped the stream of blood from his mouth with the back of his tactical glove, and stood to his full height.
Without a word, both men rushed each other once more, their blades locking in a spray of sparks against the dark tundra.
