Chapter 124, page This was just the beginning.
After Lynn decisively left his room, Shaik slammed her hand on the table and cursed angrily.
She initially tried to peer into Lynn's mind, but it seemed sealed by some kind of magic; she couldn't see anything.
Unable to do anything else, she could only try to gain his trust using a seduction spell, but the little boy was too wary.
Her spell had barely been activated when he noticed.
Shaik knew she couldn't stay here any longer; the boy must have gone to find the Hogwarts professors.
She quickly searched Lynn's room but found nothing of value.
This meant she had taken a risk and gained nothing.
This only fueled her anger.
Without further hesitation, Shaik cast a Disillusionment Charm on herself and stealthily slipped away through a corner of the Slytherin common room.
She stealthily made her way out of Hogwarts Castle and escaped through the main gate.
On her way to Hogsmeade, her appearance slowly and dramatically changed.
Her golden hair turned black, her height began to shrink, and her once fair and delicate skin became rough.
The once radiant and beautiful witch had transformed into an ugly, short, middle-aged wizard!
The wizard pulled an empty bottle from his robes and casually tossed it into the roadside bushes.
The plan had failed, so they had to move on quickly. Although they hadn't been able to extract information from the boy's mind about whether he was that person's child, capturing Shayk, the biggest leader of the reactionaries, was already a significant achievement.
The wizard comforted himself.
He sneaked back to the Three Broomsticks Bar, found Shayk's room, and went inside.
The real witch, Shayk, had already been stunned by his spell and lay unconscious on the bed.
The wizard, gripping the witch's arm and preparing to Apparate away, was struck by a bright red spell!
Instantly, the wizard was petrified, frozen in place.
At some point, Dumbledore appeared, sitting in a chair in the room.
He stared at the wizard with his blue eyes, his tone unusually stern.
"Mr. Smirnov of the Soviet Magical Committee and the Special Auror Squad, I will not interfere in your internal disputes, but I must also remind you that this is England, and you were just attempting to harm my student?"
Clearly, he had been observing this imposter "Shayk" ever since they were in Lynn's dormitory.
The wizard's body was petrified, but his mouth could still speak. He showed no panic and even threatened Dumbledore.
"I'm handling internal committee matters here, Principal Dumbledore. The committee is already quite critical of you because of your frequent contact with the reactionary leader Yelena Shayk! I hope you can see the situation clearly and not make a mistake!"
Dumbledore shook his head in disappointment.
"It seems you didn't hear me. What I just asked was, are you going to harm my students?"
The wizard seemed completely oblivious to his imprisonment, coldly staring at Dumbledore.
"That boy is very likely connected to a former wanted criminal by the Soviet Magic Committee, and I have the authority to investigate him."
Dumbledore didn't appear angry, but his expressionless face was eerily frightening.
"You've really become too arrogant; now you don't even have basic manners. I'll reiterate your crimes, Mr. Smirnov: you are suspected of illegally assaulting a wizard in England, illegally using Polyjuice Potion, illegally entering Hogwarts with the intent to illegally assault a minor wizard, and I will prosecute you in Wizengamor for these crimes."
The wizard even laughed without any fear.
"The Magical Council will intervene, Headmaster Dumbledore. I hope the outcome won't embarrass you."
Dumbledore wasn't going to argue with him. He gently raised his Elder Wand and, under the wizard's astonished gaze, recited the spell.
"Oblivion."
The wizard's eyes immediately went blank, as if he'd turned into a fool.
He waited silently in the room. Soon, Aurors from the British Ministry of Magic arrived. They greeted Dumbledore and then took the wizard away.
After dealing with the wizard, Dumbledore summoned Fawkes the Phoenix, and he took the witch Shayk, who was lying in bed, back to Hogwarts.
Just then, Professor McGonagall and the others came out of their office when they were informed that Professor Dumbledore had returned.
In the Headmaster's office,
the warm firelight flickered. Professor McGonagall, Snape, and Lynn all looked bewildered at Shayk, who had collapsed on the sofa.
"What happened, Albus?" Professor McGonagall asked, puzzled.
Dumbledore seemed unwilling to discuss the matter further.
"This has nothing to do with us, Minerva. The Soviet Magical Council is in complete chaos; they're attacking each other internally. It's their own infighting. We've only been caught in the crossfire today."
He looked extremely exhausted, leaning back in his chair.
"There's no more danger. You can all go back and rest. Lynn, you stay."
Professor McGonagall and Snape left, leaving only Dumbledore and Lynn in the Headmaster's office.
The atmosphere suddenly became quiet. Lynn silently looked at the unconscious witch, wondering if Dumbledore had captured her.
"The Shayk you just saw wasn't her. She didn't mean to harm you. Someone used Legilimency on her to steal her memories and then followed the trail to you. So don't hold a grudge against her,"
Dumbledore patiently explained to Lynn.
Lynn was completely baffled. He didn't understand why the witch looked familiar, or why the person impersonating the witch had approached him.
"It's my fault,"
Dumbledore suddenly apologized to Lynn. "I thought I could use this opportunity to let you know something, but it seems it was too early."
"Nothing like this will happen again, so let's consider this matter over."
Lynn looked at the old bee, completely bewildered.
Well, here comes the riddle-solving again.
Lynn left the principal's office, utterly confused.
From the beginning, he hadn't understood what Dumbledore meant. Why did he ask him to receive this witch?
Dumbledore said it was over, but Lynn didn't feel that it was truly over.
He felt that the matter concerning the Suso witch was only just beginning.
I originally had two ideas for this plot. The first chapter I posted this morning felt like two thousand words of nonsense, so I deleted it and rewrote it according to the second idea.
