In a quiet village surrounded by endless green fields and an ancient forest, lived a fifteen-year-old boy named Aarav. The village was simple, peaceful, and predictable, but Aarav was not like the others. While most boys spent their time playing games or helping their families, Aarav often found himself staring at the edge of the forest, lost in thought. There was something about it that pulled him in—a strange feeling that he could never explain.
The forest, known as Aranyor, was feared by everyone in the village. People believed it was cursed. They spoke of strange sounds in the night, glowing eyes watching from the darkness, and shadows that moved without reason. Many years ago, a few villagers had entered the forest and never returned. Since then, it had become a place of warnings and fear. Children were told to stay away, and even the bravest adults avoided going near it after sunset.
But Aarav didn't feel fear. Instead, he felt curiosity.
One evening, as the sun began to set and the sky turned orange and gold, Aarav sat near the edge of the forest. The light filtered through the tall trees, making the place look more magical than dangerous. The air was calm, and for a moment, everything felt peaceful.
Then, suddenly, he heard it.
"Aarav…"
The voice was soft, almost like the wind whispering through the trees. Aarav quickly looked around, his heart beating faster. There was no one nearby.
He tried to ignore it, thinking it was just his imagination. But then it came again, clearer this time.
"Aarav… come…"
A chill ran down his spine. This was no imagination.
For a moment, fear held him back. Every warning he had ever heard echoed in his mind. But the voice didn't feel threatening. It felt… inviting. As if someone was calling him for a reason.
Slowly, Aarav stood up.
Without fully understanding why, he took his first step toward the forest.
As soon as he crossed the boundary, the air changed. It felt cooler, heavier, and filled with an unusual silence. The sounds of the village faded away, replaced by a deep, living stillness. The trees seemed taller inside, their branches twisting like giant arms reaching across the sky. The ground beneath his feet was covered with soft, glowing blue plants that lit up faintly as he walked.
The voice continued to guide him deeper.
After walking for what felt like a long time, Aarav reached a small clearing. In the center stood a massive ancient tree, unlike anything he had ever seen. Its trunk was wide and covered with glowing golden patterns that pulsed like veins of light. The entire place felt alive, as if the tree itself was watching him.
Aarav took a step closer.
Suddenly, something small jumped in front of him.
Startled, Aarav stepped back. In front of him stood a strange creature about the size of a cat. It had bright green fur, large glowing eyes, and tiny wings like a butterfly. It looked both adorable and mysterious at the same time.
To Aarav's shock, the creature spoke.
"Finally! You came."
Aarav stared at it, unable to believe what he was seeing. "Y-you can talk?"
The creature rolled its eyes. "Of course I can talk. My name is Zibu. And I've been waiting for you."
Aarav was completely confused. "Waiting for me? Why?"
Zibu's playful expression suddenly turned serious. "Because, Aarav, you are the chosen one."
Before Aarav could ask what that meant, the ground beneath them trembled. A loud, terrifying roar echoed through the forest, shaking the trees and sending birds flying in panic. The peaceful silence was gone, replaced by a growing sense of danger.
Zibu's face filled with fear. "No… it's too soon."
Aarav felt his heart race again. "What's happening?"
Zibu quickly grabbed his hand. "There's no time to explain. If he finds you now, everything will be lost. You must come with me!"
As Zibu pulled him toward a hidden path behind the glowing tree, Aarav looked back one last time. In the darkness, far beyond the trees, he saw something enormous moving. For a brief moment, two burning red eyes appeared, staring directly at him.
That single glance was enough.
Aarav realized that he had just stepped into something far bigger than himself—a secret that would change his life forever.
