Chapter 64 - Chapter 64: "The Hunter in the Smoke"

The underground facility trembled violently.

Warning sirens screamed nonstop.

SELF-DESTRUCT SEQUENCE INITIATED

00:37

Steam flooded the corridor like ghostly smoke.

Arman stood frozen before the sealed steel door.

One bloody hand pressed against the cold metal.

On the other side—

Maya was crying desperately.

"Arman!!"

Kabir slammed his fists against the emergency control panel.

"It's locked from the central system!"

Elias grabbed Maya before another explosion shook the hallway.

"We have to move!"

"No!" Maya screamed violently.

"I'm not leaving him!"

Another blast echoed deeper underground.

The lights flickered again.

00:31

Then—

Slow footsteps approached behind Arman.

Heavy.

Mechanical.

Deliberate.

Arman turned slowly.

The figure emerged from the smoke like a nightmare reborn.

Tall.

Almost seven feet.

Black armored body reinforced with mechanical plating.

Wires moved beneath synthetic skin like living parasites.

Its glowing white eyes locked onto him emotionlessly.

And then—

That distorted voice came again.

"Hello… Subject 002."

Arman's breathing slowed dangerously.

Because somehow…

That voice felt familiar.

The creature tilted its head unnaturally.

"Recognition detected."

A sharp pain suddenly exploded inside Arman's head.

Flash.

Dark laboratory room.

A giant figure standing beside a child version of him.

Cold metal fingers touching his shoulder.

A voice saying—

"Obedience creates survival."

Present time.

Arman's eyes widened slightly.

"No…"

The creature stepped closer.

"I trained you."

Another memory crashed violently into his mind.

Combat rooms.

Broken bones.

Electric shocks.

A towering instructor forcing children to fight each other.

The children crying.

Bleeding.

Screaming.

And always—

That same mechanical voice.

"You survive… or you disappear."

Arman's fists slowly tightened.

"You were dead."

The creature answered calmly—

"Designation: HADES Unit 03."

Pause.

"Death was inefficient."

Behind the steel door Maya could barely hear the conversation.

But Kabir's face suddenly darkened.

"Hades…"

Elias looked toward him immediately.

"You know what that thing is?"

Kabir swallowed slowly.

"I heard rumors during my military intelligence days."

Another explosion shook the corridor.

Dust fell from the ceiling.

Kabir continued quietly—

"Project Ashes didn't only create human weapons."

His expression turned grim.

"They created hunters."

Inside the sealed corridor—

HADES stopped moving.

Its glowing eyes scanned Arman's injuries.

"Subject 002 emotional instability detected."

Its voice glitched slightly.

"Correction required."

Then suddenly—

WHOOSH!

The machine lunged forward with terrifying speed.

Arman's combat instincts exploded instantly.

He dodged sideways just before a mechanical fist smashed through the steel wall behind him.

Dhadaaaam!

Concrete shattered everywhere.

Arman rolled across the floor and grabbed a fallen rifle.

Fired instantly.

Dhak! Dhak! Dhak!

Bullets slammed into HADES—

—but did nothing.

The armored plating absorbed everything.

The machine slowly looked down at the bullet marks.

Then back at Arman.

"Still inefficient."

It attacked again.

Faster this time.

Arman barely blocked the strike.

Pain exploded through his arms.

The impact launched him across the corridor.

Dhadaam!

Blood spilled from his mouth as he crashed into broken pipes.

Steam burst violently around him.

00:22

On the other side of the door Maya screamed again.

"Arman!!"

Elias grabbed her shoulders firmly.

"Listen to me!"

His voice became intense for the first time.

"If we stay here, he dies for nothing!"

Maya's eyes were full of tears.

"I can't leave him again…"

Those words hit Elias hard.

Because he understood exactly what she meant.

Leaving family behind.

That pain never disappeared.

Suddenly Kabir shouted—

"I found something!"

The emergency panel flickered weakly.

A partial manual override.

But the system was badly damaged.

Kabir's jaw tightened.

"It'll take time!"

00:17

Back inside the collapsing corridor—

Arman slowly stood again.

His shoulder burned terribly from the metal beam injury.

Every breath hurt.

But HADES kept advancing.

Unstoppable.

Emotionless.

Like death itself.

"Why are you protecting them?" HADES asked mechanically.

Arman wiped blood from his mouth.

"They're my people."

HADES tilted its head slightly.

"Attachment."

Pause.

"Weakness."

Those words ignited something violent inside Arman.

Because for years—

Orion had repeated the same poison endlessly.

No feelings.

No attachment.

No humanity.

Only survival.

Only obedience.

But now…

For the first time…

Arman understood the truth.

Attachment wasn't weakness.

It was the reason he kept fighting.

Suddenly HADES charged again.

This time Arman didn't dodge.

He sprinted directly toward it.

HADES raised its massive arm—

—but Arman slid beneath the strike and drove a combat knife directly into exposed wiring near its neck.

Sparks exploded instantly.

The machine staggered violently.

Static glitched through its voice.

"E-Error…"

Arman grabbed the broken pipe above him.

Steam blasted directly into HADES's face sensors.

The machine roared mechanically.

Vision disrupted.

Arman attacked instantly.

Punch.

Knife strike.

Elbow.

Every movement brutal.

Precise.

Rage-driven.

Years of conditioning now being used against its creators.

Finally—

Arman slammed the knife deep into the machine's chest core.

CRAAASH!

Electricity exploded everywhere.

HADES froze violently.

Its glowing eyes flickered.

Then suddenly—

It grabbed Arman's throat.

Hard.

Too hard.

Arman was lifted off the ground instantly.

The machine stared directly into his eyes.

Then quietly whispered—

"You have become defective… Subject 002."

Crack.

The steel around them began collapsing.

00:08

Kabir finally screamed—

"Move away from the door!"

Emergency sparks exploded from the control panel.

The steel lock system overloaded.

Then—

KRAAAANG!

The massive door slowly began opening.

Maya immediately tried to rush through—

—but Elias stopped her.

Because what they saw froze everyone instantly.

Arman hanging in the air.

One hand desperately gripping HADES's arm.

Blood running down his neck.

And behind them—

The entire reactor chamber collapsing.

00:05

HADES turned toward the opening door.

Target analysis activated.

New threats detected.

Its eyes glowed brighter.

Kabir raised his weapon instantly.

Elias stepped forward beside him.

Maya's heartbeat slammed wildly inside her chest.

Then—

Arman looked directly at them.

And for the first time…

Fear appeared in his eyes.

Not for himself.

For them.

Suddenly he shouted—

"RUN!!"

00:03

HADES activated combat mode.

Red lights exploded across its armored body.

MISSILE SYSTEM ONLINE.

Kabir's face turned pale.

"Oh God—"

00:02

Arman suddenly smiled weakly at Maya.

A broken…

Human smile.

The kind he had never shown before.

Then with his last strength—

He grabbed HADES tightly and threw both of them backward toward the collapsing reactor chamber.

Maya screamed violently.

"ARMAAAAN!!"

00:01

White light consumed everything.

BOOOOOOOOMMMMM!!!
