Chen Fan walked through the Moon Temple. In his heart, he didn't care much about Deliora, but he knew this journey was indispensable. If they didn't come, a seed of regret would forever remain in Gray's heart. Perhaps Gray hadn't sensed it yet, but his magical progress was slowing down.
No matter the ability, it is always controlled by the heart. Makarov's power comes from his great love for Fairy Tail; Natsu's from his yearning for the Fire Dragon; Laxus's from his desire to change his grandfather's mind and earn his recognition;
and Erza's from the fears of her childhood. Whether the thoughts are good or bad, they ultimately make a person stronger. A truly powerful person must possess a powerful heart.
In truth, this mission was arguably the easiest for Chen Fan, but he wouldn't stop what was destined to happen. This was a process a process that would make them strong.
While wandering about, Chen Fan spotted Gray's senior brother, Lyon Vastia, his three subordinates, and Ultear. Seeing that everything aligned with the original plot, Chen Fan felt at ease.
Once Ultear finished her conversation with Lyon, Chen Fan sent a message to her. Sure enough, Ultear followed him.
Flying one after the other, they eventually reached an open clearing in the forest. Chen Fan descended, and Ultear landed behind him.
"Who are you?" Ultear asked him.
Chen Fan turned around. Looking at Ultear disguised as a man in a mask made him feel uncomfortable. He remarked, "Ultear, that outfit really looks terrible on you."
Hearing his words, Ultear was shocked. She didn't know how this man knew her identity. "How do you know who I am?" she asked, shedding her disguise.
"We're old friends. Why wouldn't I know?"
"Who exactly are you?" Ultear pressed. Chen Fan thought, Back to this question again. He was himself. He hadn't considered that his current attire was so different from his usual clothes that he probably looked more disguised than Ultear.
"I'm Chen Fan. Can't you tell?" he replied, somewhat depressed.
"Chen Fan!" Ultear gasped in surprise.
Looking at this beautiful woman, Chen Fan honestly couldn't guess what she was thinking. "Didn't your master tell you what to do if you ever met me?"
"Run," she said, dropping into a combat stance.
"Oh...? Then what are you doing now?" Chen Fan asked playfully, eyeing her aggressive posture.
"O Earth, speed thy decay!" Ultear shouted. A massive magic circle appeared beneath her feet, and the ground began to crack. Swoosh... Crystal Orbs materialized around her. "Go!" With a wave of her hand, the orbs shot toward Chen Fan at high speeds.
Boom! A massive cloud of dust erupted, obscuring Ultear's vision. "Did I get him?"
"Hey now, don't think like that. If I die, you'll be a widow," Chen Fan's mocking voice rang out from behind her. Startled, Ultear quickly leaped away and turned to face him warily.
Swoosh! Swoosh! The shattered crystal fragments floated around her once more. "How did you get past me?"
"Just like this," Chen Fan said. He took a step, and with a swoosh, he appeared directly in front of her, his face barely ten centimeters from hers, staring straight into her eyes.
Terrified again, Ultear retreated and slammed both hands onto the ground. "O Earth, speed thy decay!" An even larger magic circle appeared, and countless Crystal Orbs surrounded her. "Go!" she screamed fiercely.
This time, Chen Fan didn't dodge. The countless orbs slammed into him but couldn't get close. A transparent spherical barrier had formed around him. Chen Fan stood within the shield, a smile on his face as he looked at Ultear.
"This is impossible!" Ultear cried out in disbelief.
"Nothing is impossible," Chen Fan said. He stomped his foot, and the ground shattered like a mirror. With a wave of his hand, the broken earth turned into a massive torrent, roaring toward Ultear.
Ultear scrambled to evade. With a swoosh, Chen Fan appeared before her again, his hand gripping her throat. Ultear struggled violently, but the more she fought, the tighter his grip became.
"I don't plan on killing you," Chen Fan said calmly. "I just want you to remember to stop targeting Fairy Tail. Oh, and pass that message to your Guild Master, Hades. If he's unhappy about it, he can come find me himself." With that, he tossed her aside.
Ultear lay on the ground, staring at Chen Fan in terror. She hadn't expected his strength to be this overwhelming. No wonder Master Hades and Jellal had warned her not to provoke him. Regretting her actions, she quickly fled.
Watching her pathetic retreat, Chen Fan breathed a sigh of relief. Counting both his lives, he had never hit a woman before. He had only acted to scare her into being well-behaved so she wouldn't cause him more trouble. As for whether she told Hades, he didn't care. He didn't think much of Grimoire Heart anyway.
Checking the time, Chen Fan saw it was getting late and started walking back to the village. After he left, a figure appeared where he had just stood. It was the escaped Ultear. She watched his back with a complex expression before vanishing again.
