I took up my luggage and walked towards the car. All the maids had suddenly vanished. "Tiana," I heard him call out, but I was not too sure how to respond. He walked up to me, beaming with smiles. "Are you ready for the trip?" I was speechless. This guy definitely didn't let worries worry him.
"Yeah, don't forget step one. Be flawless. I know you are." He smirked and held me out to the car. We were set to go. Today no maid or servant attended to us, so we drove the car ourselves. Halfway through, we exchanged cars at another couple. The ride was absolutely smooth. Our phones and everything that indicated our survival was left in that car. I guess we are dead, aren't we? We sure are. I feel sorry for that couple, though. We'll leave with that guilt. My spirit dampened slightly. Well, then we better pray. Our plan works so that we can take care of the family.
The ride was quiet. We got to our location and set up the area. For this year and the following, we lay low. We've accomplished our first level. What do we do next? It's inappropriate to just sit back and watch. I slowly reflected on his words. "You may be right, but why sabotage us? We could have just been the opponents. But now we are dead."
"Yes, and soon you'll be actually dead." A gun was shot. I jumped out of the way, pushing Derek too, whilst bolting out the door with an emergency bag. The leaves and everything the jungle had kept blocking our path. But I didn't stop. I grabbed Derek's hand with all my strength and kept running. We landed in front of a river. My mind was currently blank. All I could do was stare at Derek, who burst into laughter. That was epic. Thank God I didn't place any of our things in what they knew. I was dumbstruck. "What the hell was he talking about?"
We could have waited, but now we have to act and act fast. First, let's win people's trust. We are going back to the castle. Just that we'll be dealing with Spain. For the first time, I saw him in a far different light. Better than what I even thought I knew. He was surprising me in every way. Even though I already knew he was special. Fine. But what are you planning? We need an ally, or rather an enemy of Greece and Britain. And I just found the perfect match. Spain has secretly despised our royal family since time immemorial. Due to certain factors. And now we'll use it to our advantage. Just wait.
Derek's POV
I remembered when I heard that plan on my wedding night. And how she said it was deliberate. It gave me the hint something far bigger than what we thought was about to take place. So I put everything in our new identities' home and every other thing. Which are without the royal family. I was still dripping with cash. But when she held my hand, I felt a flicker of something I had never felt. And of course, I vowed to find out as soon as possible.
She wanted to rest at a riverbank, but I stopped her. We were still being hunted, and there was no time to waste. I expected her to complain, but rather she followed obediently. We walked for hours until we got to a certain area where I had hidden our royal escape details. In my head, I was suspecting she would say such a Prince Charming. This car is stunning. But I received "Didn't you have a better choice? Because I think whoever gave you this cheated you."
Author's POV
The couple sat in the car and started the engine. But instead of going forward, he drove right into the river. Tiana was terrified, but she kept that composed look she always had on. The car turned into a submarine, and he drove quietly. He was about to enter an unidentified territory, and anything was possible. They both fell asleep, cuddling themselves individually. Dreaming that same dream. This time, don't walk away. I'll hold on to you. A being materialized, but it had no face. It kept drawing closer and closer until it felt a strange sensation. They opened their eyes slowly, and there they were, locked in a passionate kiss. Derek pushed Tiana away, and tried to turn his face. But she gave him no chance. Because she pulled him back and kissed him again. But then, as if some unknown force entered her, she pushed him away and slowly turned red. The entire journey was quiet. When they got to a mansion in the middle of nowhere, they slowly disembarked and entered the house.
